This chrome extension really helped me a lot since I talk to my friends on Messenger! I talk with them for hours so my eyes hurt from the light mode. This extension is easy to understand and you can even disable it! Very good, I recommend to use it.

Great, lightweight extension. Can you remove scrollbars? I have narrow overlay scrollbars enabled and the wide default scrollbars keep reappearing after scrolling.

This is a really good extension! At first I was quite confused since I was looking at Facebook's Messenger, but I looked at the reviews it looks like I was looking at the wrong one. I love the extension but please do one for Facebook!

It worked but i wonder why many people said there search in conversation got lost but is see mine, you just need to click the customize chat to see the search in conversation also my messages doesnt become white so i dont know how to fix it just hoping my suggestion helps

Please add an update that makes the reaction bar dark also. Currently the emoji reaction bar is still white even if dark mode is turned on.

Thanks for this. Intentionally left out by messenger managers due to their desire to push the MS Store version. The MS store version likes to unpin itself from the taskbar and disappear when closing. I can't make this stuff up. Everyone these days seems to push to production before all the bugs have been worked out.

Worked great for a little bit, but now it doesn't work anymore. I uninstalled and re-installed and now it works again. I guess I just need to do that anytime messenger is updated?

For me this is great, because at night Messenger will blind me because of the white light.

I was able to use it and switch between the modes easily, but i had a few problems. First of all, there are 2 scroll bars on the right side for some reason which is unpleasant to look at. And i couldn't find the "Search in conversation" feature that was there before. And when i removed it, it didn't delete fully, so it still had 2 scroll bars and no search in conversation. I tried adding another extension but then sometimes it would just show me a white of gray screen instead of opening messenger. Please at least fix the removing bug first

it doesn't apply, it used to be applying to my messenger. Now it doesn't.

works like a charm, and has a 100% black version, amazing for OLED

It's nice, adds what Facebook should add from day one. Only problem is 2 of the 3 scroll bars on screen don't fit with any of the themes because they dont get their CSS applied.

By far, this is the best Messenger dark mode I've ever used. Nonetheless, I suggest you also add automatic light/dark mode based on system preferences (like Windows 10's default app mode).

Works really clean and nice. Smoothly integrated and I like the different options for themes within the extension. Messenger's bright white interface was killing my eyes so this is a very welcome plugin!

Good overall, but want to echo other people's comments: the text in Charcoal mode for sent texts really should be white! It's the same bubble color as the other themes, but it's the only one with black text, for some reason. Not sure if I'll be able to get used to it, but it's still better than nothing, I think.

hello i cant seem to find the messenger icon on the top left but even if i imagined it i think it will be good my real question is is this compatible with Windows 7 (i know its old)

I've been using this extension for a while and I love it. It should be built into messenger natively. I would also like to report that an update to messenger broke this extension for me last night. However I still give it a 5-Star rating because it's not the developer's fault that a messenger update broke it - and I believe that the developer will have it working again soon. I just wanted to inform anyone who is considering this extension to not be discouraged that it is temporarily broken. Come back in a few days and check it again.

It's working but the problem is.. it's not working on the new messenger. this extension works only on classic messenger

Sir Andrew, I loved this extension for quite a long time, but recently, just today, Messenger seemed to roll out an update that doesn't seem to allow external extensions to affect its appearance. When i logged on today, the Dark Theme doesn't work anymore, despite the constant reinstall of this, the constant logging in and out of Messenger along with multiple times of refreshing, just to attempt to make it work again. All I ask is that will you update this to be able to work in the trashy new update? I stay up considerably late, and the white screen tends to sting. Plus, the Win 10 app is brick slow, and that the new update seems to encourage that. Thank you!

Worked fine until November 12, 2020. It just suddenly stopped working and no matter what I do, reinstall, reload, update, it won't work anymore. Maybe Messenger changed something?

Really love it. I suggest you put an "auto adjust with chrome's theme" or a scheduled time for it to activate. This feature will be great if you could. :)

Great simple extension that gets the job done, even providing a few theme options

I really like the app, It's cool and all but one thing I would like to be changed is the text color of the user's message bubbles on the 'Charcoal' theme, it's more readable if the text is white rather than black. Hope you hear me out!!

There is a current bug where when I open up the options, I cannot switch the dark mode off. Preferably, I want to have this option, as I used light mode in the day time and dark mode at night, and this switch interface doesn't seem to be working. This is the biggest bug that I think I would like to be fixed. A review on the overall colors: The colors aren't bad, I enjoy the options. From a visual design standpoint I think the Deep Blue works the best, and the Charcoal is pretty good, but the contrast between the blue textboxes and black text is a little harsh, and so is the white divisor line.

Is it only for windows computers??? Because on my macbook its not working at all even if the icon there on the right corner. Pressing on it changes nothing.

Hey uhm, can you put an option where in the messages the user sent be turned to white instead of a black colored font? just like in the mobile app dark mode, the fonts are all colored white.

Does exactly what the Messenger App does on my Droid. This extension has me asking: why isn't this functionality available from within Messenger?! Note: requires you to restart Chrome. I only rated four stars because of the Chrome warning that "the app can read all of your messages." I guess there's no way around this, so maybe it's just ignorance on my part. Will continue using this extension until Messenger App adds this functionality.
