Absolutely perfect, did EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm thankful to god that the creator of this app was self advertising on a 9 year old quora post. I use this to open tabs in new windows since (like many nice things) it's not natively supported in chrome or brave. Haven't gone fully into the tiling features but I'm going to spend more time looking into it.
Extremely awesome tool!
Awesome tool, I use multiple monitors and it's annoying to have to always drag new Chrome tabs to my secondary display. This tool solves that and let's me do it with a quick shortcut. The only issue I have is that the extension displays new Chrome tabs in a non-maximized state upon sending them to the secondary monitor. If there's any way to fix this and have windows be fully maximized when sending to the next display, this extension would be perfect.
This tool is super handy! I always need to work with multiple windows and displays, now I can easily move the tabs between them. Also, its an open source project, you can check that it really won't collect your data thus safe to use. I love this add-on. Good work, keep it up ?
I love that if you send the tab to a popup, the icon in the (Windows 10) taskbar is specific to that page and separate from your regular browser icon. Love it, love it.
good overall. but an option to disable the context menu entry would be better.
hi, i love the app but is there anyway to set default function will be "TAB TO THE NEXT WINDOW Alt + Z" will be the main function when click on the extension icon, thanks in advance.
useful but annoying: every time i start chrome, it keeps opening a tab to explain the shortcuts.
This is what I have been waiting years for. I'm so glad I found it. It works perfectly on Arch Linux.
What an awesome extension!
I've looked for this multiple times. Not sure how I was not able to find this plugin before. But today is the happy day! All I ever needed is to move the tab to another monitor in a new window. The only missing thing is that it doesn't respect the window size/status (if I'm in maximised window, I expect a new one to be maximised). Let's say I have Chrome on monitor 2 (with maximised status), I click alt+shift+d, the tab goes to monitor 1 in a new Chrome window. However, it's not maximised. I also saw author's message that there are settings for it, but I don't really see anything which I could change there which would fix it. I have default settings.
Brilliant little hack that helped my workflow tremendously!
Super super helpful for ppl with multiple monitors !!!! It's a must have... Thanks @dev
It works as expected, thanks for this extension ! And kudos for open sourcing the code
WOW. You can even choose where the new window ends up in the options.
This is what I have been looking for. Works exactly as described. Great Job
Awesome! I have multiple windows, one of which is always in full screen mode. I got tired of Chrome opening links in that full screen mode window. Now I can easily move the opened tab with the link. Thank you!
Works as intended 100% of the time with bspwm! Thanks a lot!
Works great, however I have three monitor setup so it's be nice if there's an option to send tab to previous monitor instead of cycle through the next monitor in the sequence.
Awesome!
This solves my problem of easily taking one tab out of a set and turning it into a window. (That functionality should be part of Chrome). It loses one sar because I don't want tiled windows. I want the new window (and the old one) to not change size!
I would like it to not resize the new window to half my screen vertically.
I've been looking for something like this for quite some time now. I loved it. Simple, yet extremely powerful.
Almost perfect! I love that I can finally overcome the terrible MacOSX/Chrome experience where clicking a link in a 3rd party app adds a tab to the most recently active window. Now I can work-around that horrible usability with a single keystroke. The only problem I have is it "moves" the original window (which I had sized and positioned exactly where I wanted it before MacOSX/Chrome victimized it with an unrelated link).
Long time looked extension. Saves a lot of time in tedious switching between tabs. Love it! Big thanks!
Works exactly as described, very useful for window tiling.
Solve my problem and is very very simple! Great settings and all I love whem someone cares about this little details
Works just as intended with just the right amount of options for customization! Awesome addition.
I love it, but for some reason it changes the color of the title bar now when using a Chrome theme you like for productivity like a dark theme. It changes the pop-out windows title-bar to some random light grey. What happened??
Functions smoothly, quite useful.
Very easy to use! I automated the opening of Google Voice and Google Hangouts into popups since they open as tabs / windows in Chrome by default.
Jeff Buckley!!
I miss this function from firefox so thank you. Please consider on a wishlist a mouse click instead of a keyboard.
The ability to move the current tab to/from a new window via keyboard shortcut is a missing feature in Chrome, in my opinion. This extension fills that gap. Great idea, and well executed. 5/5
Incredibly useful!
Alt-X and Alt-C do the same
This core functionality is a great advance. Still, it wants to tile, but I want cascade (move right the width of the three "ju-ju-be" buttons, down the height of the tab bar, if either of those pushes the window edge off-screen, wrap that dimension around to zero/top/left). Also, the webstore shows "default" key bindings, but no bindings were installed with the extension, I had to configure that myself. Maybe these were intended as "suggested" bindings?
First impressions very good indeed
AT LAST. Break Chrome TAB!!! Love U
in my top ten list of most useful extensions
I use it innumerable times each day. Combined with BetterTouchTool to snap the window from one monitor to another, I can disperse my websites in seconds without taking my hands from the keyboard.
Hey, I love this extension. But why is there no way to have the window open completely over the original window? What I mean, is when I activate your extension is I'd like the tab to pop up as the same size (fullscreen in most cases for me) and NOT offset. So if Chrome is maximized , I'd the tab to be totally maximized also. Thanks!
Amazing! I use it all the time, on Linux with i3 tiling window manager this extension is huge productivity boost! I recommend Alt+N binding, it's similar to default Chrome's Ctrl+N opening new window.
Wanted somethng like this for a long time. Very well put together with the window resizing too.
yep it's 5
Great extension! I've posted this in support but I might as well post it here again. 1. Is it possible to add a shortcut for opening new tabs to a new window or popup? current process: 1) new tab (ctrl + t) 2) move tab to new window (alt + q) or 3) move tab to pop <br>(alt + a) suggested/desired process: 1) new tab to window (alt + shift + q) or 2) new tab to popup (alt + shift + a) 2. I tried to use your extension to move a number of selected tabs. It just moved one of them. Is it possible to add a feature that if a user selected a number of tabs and used your extension, it would move all of them to a new window? (popup isn't possible I believe) Process: 1) select tabs using (CTRL + [click on desired tabs]) 2) use tab to window shortcut (alt + q)
Feature request: window position option. I prefer the new window to open in the same position as the existing window.
This is super useful, especially when used in conjunction with Sizeup.
It is great. Works as expected on El Capitan. The best part is that the new window that opens is the exact state of the tab that it was created from. There is no page refresh during the transaction. You can choose a keyboard shortcut to make the current tab a new window. Then I suggest using an option in the extension's option page to "focus the new window" that opens.
I use this a lot, it's great! One thing that I think should be set by default is that new tabs/windows get focus. It's an option that took me a while to find…
Great but stopped working. Uninstalled/reinstalled and works again. Wonder why.Now stopped again. Great concept but not reliable.
Very nicely done!
nice one
Unfortunately on OSX Yosemite, if using the extension while Chrome is in Full Screen mode then all tabs are popped out to their own single-tab Full Screen... so, use the extension 12 times and you end up with 12 Full Screen Chrome desktops which you then have to organize into proper tab group. Not at all a time saver. Would be better if tabs would orient to the Chrome instance ID and just co-locate to one or the other... but I see challenges with implementing there, too.
It does what it promises!
Now it just needs multi monitor support. Opens new tab on main monitor. But at least it doesn't move the original window from the second monitor to the main when splitting, or when reattaching.
Productivity has been greatly increased. As another comment stated, turning a windows into a tab on the window below it would be another great feature.
My productivity has gone through the roof.
Been looking for something like this! Works exactly as it says on the tin. Only thing I could ask for is an expansion that allows you to re-merges the current window with another window by tabbing through available windows. But that could be asking to much, as this already a useful extension that should be added into the default build of chrome.
Perfect extension! I like organizing my tab groups for each of my work-styles/workspaces and this keyboard shortcut is the perfect productivity companion. The author wrote back about my suggestion on changing the hotkey from W to some other key to prevent accidental closing of windows. Now that is some kick butt customer service, especially for a product that is *free* Thanks Arthur
So awesome and perfect. exactly what I was looking for. A cool option would be to have this but instead of the current tab, open a new tab
I've been looking for something like this! Perfect!
love it
Does exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Great extension for users with one monitor. Like another user said, however, it needs support for dual monitors in the form of being able to either split it (maximized) on the other monitor, or turning off the resize feature and simply stack that tab on top of the existing window. I'll give it a 5/5 when that issue is fixed. It would already be a 5/5 for me if I only had 1 monitor. Edit: It also needs to not resize the original window. I found out that I can make both as large as my window, but they should be maximized, and not simply the same size as the screen.
This is great when combined with better touch tool. I'm able to align it to any location on the screen.
It does work...didn't realize it just was not accepting my input to change the keystroke. Wish it allowed me to configure where the new window goes tho. Or at least just left it in place. I never understand why these tools insist on assuming they know better than you where your windows should be.
Works as expected!
Only missing dual screen support as it always moves the windows on to my primary screen.
Useful for popping those youtube tutorials away form your regular browser window! Excellent
