Fantastic! Makes it much easier to navigate single HTML pages with lots of sections.
Would be even better if a keyboard shortcut could be added to open the outliner.
sidebar will be better
Sometimes the modal window open too small on Chrome mac os
If replaced with new UI, that would be perfect!
For the people having trouble with this, make sure to restart chrome. Also, this extension, apparently, only works on live webpages. So it won't work on websites you coded and are not running on a server. Try to run your webpage on a local server like lamp/wamp, maybe with npm, etc. and then try using the extension. :)
Did not work. like other users.
The icon doesn't appear in my search/url bar.
WARNING: There are currently no known implementations of the outline algorithm in graphical browsers or assistive technology user agents, although the algorithm is implemented in other software such as conformance checkers. Therefore the outline algorithm cannot be relied upon to convey document structure to users. Authors are advised to use heading rank (h1-h6) to convey document structure. https://www.w3.org/TR/html5/sections.html#outline
Did not work, even after restarting Chromium - clicking the button just brings you here (as mentioned by others).
light weight extension that exactly gives what I need.
love it! worked wonderfully well.
PLEASE add keybinding!!! Thanks
It doesn't work. Only brings you to here. You can Manage extensions or remove. So I'm removing. A shame because it was recommended by a highly respected web design instructor. It's not like the developer is no longer active so, he must not care about supporting his product. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
doesn't work
Please, update the icon for HDPI screens
nothing here
not working
How do I make it to show on the browser?
It is not working
Works okay. Wikipedia pages shows the [edit] at the end of every section, would appreciate a fix.
Does not show the outline according to newest HTML5 specification.
It was quite useless for me due to its position at the addressbar end and it gave no option to change the icons location.
Has its flaws but it's better than nothing. Would be neat if it had an option to see inside Shadow DOM & custom elements.
Cool!
Does the job for me..
Doesn't work, the icon didn't show up on a page that clearly had HTML5 structure. Looking for an alternative :(
Seems to be very helpful
It incorrectly shows <h1> - <h6> elements as sections of the outline, which in HTML5, they aren't. If you have this code: <section> <h1>First heading 1</h1> <h1>Second heading 1</h1> <h2>First heading 2</h2> </section> You get an outline of: 1. First heading 1 2. Second heading 1 1. First heading 2 When you should get an outline of: 1. First heading 1 In an HTML5 document outline, its the sectioning elements of: section, article, nav and aside that create the sections, not the <h1> - <h6> elements, which were responsible for doing that in HTML 4 & XHTML 1.0. So, the extension is using both sets of elements to create HTML5 outlines, when it shouldn't.
its helpful. i love it
Do I really have to upload files to a server to use this? Have not used the extension yet as it does not work with local files. I was expecting there to be an option to "Allow access to file URLs" but the option is not available.
Good extension, but if as me you were looking for something very similar to Firefox's "HeadingMaps" for checking proper heading order here where this falls short. You can get the same result by modifying headingText var on createOutline.js headingText = '<strong><'+this.heading.nodeName+'></strong> <a href="#'+_generateId(this.startingNode)+'">'
Good
Very nice, but it would even better with an option to hide itself after clicking on a headline.
Really needs to be faster. Worked when it didn't take forever.
very nice extension .
Wonderful extension indeed which surely helps developing well-structured HTML5 documents. Use it to not forget adding headers to sections of your page, or to easily skip between sections of various websites. To those who complain about not being able to get an outline even though the outline icon is visible: try updating your Chrome/Chromium browser; this fixed that issue for me (using 23.0.1271.1 dev).
Extremely handy. Agree that it is better than gsnedders as it shows the TYPE of untitled sections.
really nice extension, but when You click on outlined element, the icon vanishes until page reload - fix would be nice ;-)
