It's good for small playlists, but overall I've found that it struggles in playlists larger than 300. I've been getting errors with "429: Check quota". The playlist in question is about 1000 songs and is part of a migration from Spotify. This tool here doesn't sort correctly (i.e. doesn't account for song titles with a leading article word) but can optimize the sort so it doesn't fail: https://ytplaylistsorter.carterrj.co.uk/ Can this be updated to follow a similar system / doesn't error out?

I have a couple of huge playlists on YouTube Music. The sorter takes a while… But… It works! Which is a lot more than I can say for YouTube Music. It would be great if this were to also sort the "Your Likes" playlist, which it doesn't do.

Awesome tool! Sucks that we still need something like this because the engineers at YT are either too deaf to hear customer complaints or too busy putting more busywork into their sprints.

Stellar product. Can't believe it's even necessary, I mean, come on Youtube, skimping on sorting options? Of all things? Others have complained about having to login to Youtube through the extension too frequently, but I think it's nice. It is reassuring to know the extension is not still logged into my Youtube account when I'm not using it.

I really want to like this extension but every time I try to use it, I always get the following error: ERROR 429: Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota). This extension was updated as little as five weeks ago--this error should not STILL be happening!

I was looking to sort the list of playlists, not inside the playlists themselves. Is it possible to add this functionality?

Does exactly what it needs to do Makes you log in (which makes sense since its managing your playlists). I was in and out in five minutes, with hundreds of videos sorted to my preference. Great job!

This is a life-saver for those with long playlists. Mine have 1000s of songs and, absent a more fully-featured version of Youtube Music, sorting them via this app is the only way I have found of identifying duplicates. Thanks for putting this together!

Thank you! I have large playlists with 400-500 entries and sometimes they would contain multiple versions of songs that were nearly identical but differed by a few seconds in length. Finding the duplicates was always a pain before, but once the list is sorted it is much easier. Thank you for providing this extension!

It is sadly no longer working. It requires manual edit to be enabled, however that option can't be found through the new playlist interface. Without turning that on, it can't work.

I have a YTM playlist with 960 music tracks in it - at the speed it's going it's going to take 3/4hour to complete the A-Z list @ about 2.5secs per track. Is this normal?

This is perfect. Works well, I was looking for something that can help me sort songs on YouTube Music, since YouTube Music and YouTube shares the same library and playlist it does sort my stuff on YouTube Music as well. Exactly what I was looking for.

Gotta say does what it says it says it does, and does it well. Love it. I would love to see a sorting function that has to do with the channel. For example grouping same channel videos together and having the channels be alphabetically ordered. That would be extremely awesome especially for music playlists. Anyways really great and thank you!

Only seems to support alphabetical sorting which youtube does anyway. Pointless.

This was great and really helped me sort out my videos, saved me time and was wonderful. My issue is that it stopped working and I can't find a way to fix it. At first it couldn't get my videos, then it kept saying "error 403" and now it is telling me that I "exceeded my quota". I am not sure what to do in this case and would love some advice. Thanks again :)

It does not work. My playlists are still out of order. Very disappointed. I will be deleting this extension.

I love this extension and it has been working very good. Although, today it won't load my new playlist or any other playlist. It keeps on saying, "Error retrieving playlists: Error retrieving playlists: 403". I have reloaded the app and logged out several times, and now it is saying that it isn't verified by Google. Any chance you know what is going on?

I've been looking for something like this for a long time, YouTube is really terrible when it comes to playlists. I can't give it 5 stars because it doesn't seem to work with the new UI that has the playlists on the left-hand sidebar. I used to use an extension that did this, but unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore.

this gives me a feature youtube should have by default. does what it needs to no confusing UI just a working add on!

does exactly what it says, the code is opensource also!, I needed to make some tweaks in sorting method and it worked like a charm, thanks! The extension works like a charm! It does exactly what is supposed to do. Unfortunatley i am forced to give it only 4 stars because every time i want to acces the extension i have to make some useless login steps even i am logged in on Chrome and Youtube. Would be great to get this bug fixed in the next version.

OMG I can not believe someone finally made a extension for Youtube playlist. My library is quite large. 2 of my playlist have almost 500 songs each. This is what I have been looking for. I was surprised after I closed the browser and reopened it the songs were still sorted A-Z. Even when I go to Youtube on my phone the songs in the playlist are A-Z. Thank you Ryan.

works simply and wonderfully..must click a-z icon in upper right corner of google..sign in.. and there it is...my playlists a-z...saves a lot of time searching for videos...great job

Good but flawed. It's soft 1 10 2 , not 1 2 10.

For some playlists, the videos don't load. On top of the screen there's the "Loading videos..." message, but no matter how long I wait the videos don't show up. Funny thing is, playlists with i.e. 130 videos load almost immediately, but playlists with 4 or 30 videos (in my case) don't. Except for a few playlists everything works fine, though I'd be glad if my issue got resolved. EDIT: Well, seems like it doesn't work when there's a deleted/private video in the playlist. Just removing it resolved the issue. Leaving the comment just in case someone got the same issue.

A software product, 'Playlist Sorter for YouTube', offered by pocketproduct.com (created by Ryan Manwiller), which does sort YouTube playlist videos by name, (i.e. in alphabetical order) is an excellent product. The software product fills a void created by the YouTube website, which does not sort YouTube playlist videos by name, (i.e. not in alphabetical order / the YouTube website does only sort by "Date created [newest]", by "Date created [oldest]" and by "Last video added"). Therefore I have rated 5* to the software product, 'Playlist Sorter for YouTube'.

Is there any chance you can get this to work for the file name of the videos as it is the file name i went in order not the title i have given the videos.

Looks like this may have been updated as it does actually sort playlists within the library, as well as individual videos within each playlist. Good job guys. At least someone has provided a much-needed option that YouTube are still sitting on their hands about.

Clicked the icon on Google Chrome, Playlist Sorter app opens in another window, I click the "Login to YouTube" button and nothing happens.
