not working anymore. it won't save my settings. it keeps returning to default settings

Not working, set on auto, set to my currency (which took multiple tries), tried multiple sites, tried the manual converter and it disappears if you try to type or paste in the entry field

It used to work and I loved it, but lately it does not work at all - it does not convert and does not save settings, it just returns to whatever default setting - it has gone from being an indispensable Chrome extension to nothing! - I am trying alternatives at the moment, but nothing is as good as this extension WAS unfortunately. ;-(

worked well for years now the new version doesn't save new settings, reinstalled multiple times still the same issue.

Settings keep reseting, doesn't work on 90% of webpages.

I only use this for USD to CAD and it works well. My pet peeve is the blacklist button never seems to work, and even when I manually add a site to the blacklist I sometimes have to add it multiple times before it works. Edit: I did have it at 4 stars. I've dropped it to three because it seems to be working less and less. Might find a new conversion extension soon. Edit 2: It also doesn't sync between devices which is frustrating.

It maybe works for other. But I wanted it to use for my travels in Rwanda and it did not recognize the currency on many of the websites. On top of that, it was converting to EUR my own CZE currency, which I do not need to convert. On top of that, it was converting it wrong. I would suggest to improve it in a way, that it convers the currencies only when clicked on, switched on or prompted somehow.

Bit disseapointed that it doesn't convert danish DKK automaticly..

This extension works well, especially when international currency signs are used, like ¥10000 >> £62.40. However when currency amounts are written in Japanese format like 1万円 (which means ¥10000), it doesn't recongise it, which is inconvenient for me when browsing property, cars, etc to buy. If that worked, it would get 5 stars from me.

The extension works with the supported currencies however, it doesn't Indian rupees to US dollars on websites with Indian rupee currency signs. That would be nice if it did.

Is it just me or is it stuck in Euro?

This extension is excellent. I think it is also converting something like "3 dollars" to "R45.42" which is amazing! It can be configured to show the original price as well! So helpful for me as someone who does online jobs a lot

The idea is great, makes life so much easier when shopping internatially!! The main issue is that the 'not current converting/converting' toggle does not change apprioprietly! When it IS already converting, i click the ext and the toggle is on 'not converting' so i click it, the prices change but the toggle itself does not move, it makes it very confusing and for that reason then doesnt really work well, if that was fixed it'd be 5 stars from me!

It would be nice to have an option not to convert my input while I'm typing. It messes things up.

Works good except for converting from Turkish Lira. New notation is TL, but in this extension, it is TRY, which no one uses anymore.

It was working fine until a few days ago. Now its converting everything to euros. I changed the settings to my local currency and it just changes back to euros

not that good... doesnt convert currencies and the mini converter doesnt let you change the base currency from euros when i want to convert from yen to usd

apperently 57.8 USD = 57.8 CAD (according to the mini-converter) I made sure that my settings were saved, and that i had restarted the browser a few times to make sure I use Brave

Well, I installed to use flipkart, and I guess it doesn't work with rupees. Also, there's an issue with the toggle element in the plugin panel, but that's much of a problem.

Used this for years! works perfectly in-line, even on YouTube closed captions. The toggle switch seems to work in a weird way, like opposite or something, but otherwise, works great and is a must have!

Would be great if there was an option to specify the currency on a page. Because it often thinks Mexican Pesos (symbol $) are USA Dollars. Please add this feature? Thanks

It's a really useful addon, especially for work matters. I want to use only on whitelisted domains but unfortunately it doesn't save the settings and I have to keep activating/deactivating all the times.

Please make S$ as a Singapore Dollar also, or it will have some trouble to convert it.

Incorrect exchange rate.

It worked wonderfully for a long time, then one day out of nowhere it would turn every currency into European currency no matter how many times I change the settings. Forced to remove it now.

This extension seems like a great idea, but in practice I'm disappointed it doesn't support automatically converting only specific currencies. For instance I want the addon to only convert prices in czech crown to euro. I don't need to convert usd or yen or anything else, I just want to convert czk because I often speak with my friend from Czech Republic and often need to convert prices for that specific currency. Please consider adding this feature and it'll be a 5 stars for me :)

Currently it's throws errors to the console (multiple times). If the browser rendering a lot of content it's even become inresponsive for a few seconds. Message: "Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received."

It's pretty good, but doesn't always activate right away so sometimes I have to click on it. Also, it would be nice to be able to change the exchange it uses for Bitcoin price. currently this lists $1,000 as ₿0,0520574, but on coindesk it is listed as:₿0.05212953.

I'm using it on the Edge browser. It does what it is supposed to do. Took me a while to spot this extension but I love it! Very helpful and it converts prices in fractions of a second! Keep up the good work!

Technical Review: Works well, and I really find it useful... Two questions, is it possible to detect host locality from the browser and use that to set the default currency? Every new system defaults to Euro's, but I am in a different territory... Also, this is a kind of minor nit-pick, but apparently 'GRUB2' gets translated by the extension as letter 'G' and 2 Rubbles... This causes it to change a large amount of Linux online documentation incorrectly... Love it otherwise though :-D

please add an option to detect actual words and not just symbols!! for example "300 yen" not just "¥300" it'd be perfect if you did that!

It doesn't make any conversion from EUR to USD. It just switches the symbol and keeps the same number. Dangerously inaccurate. It does seem to work for conversions from USD to EUR, though.

Can't even copy the converted amount? Useless.

This is the converter extension I use both private and professionally at work. It's not perfect and I have sent some bugs to George which is hopefully in his ToDo list. Seeing forward to a 5 star app in the future ;)

Has the wrong conversion from British Pounds to USD. Can't trust this extension at all if it's wildly off about one of probably the most common conversions needed out there.

does not work on Taobao, or any other sites I checked that use a currency different to USD

The idea is great, although the conversion from BRL to USD is not working.

This extension is very useful. Thanks for making it. But there should be an option to round it off to nearest 10 or something.

Really useful tool. But configuring for individual sites is not available.

It unnecessarily reconverts prices in CAD, thinking they're in USD. Confusing when you're browsing prices already in CAD. Interface is great though.

I liked it a lot and it is very useful (the tax included function is very handy for people in the US). However, for Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), it would be better if currency is formatted as ($10) instead of (10$).

The phrase million (or mn) and Billion (or bn) is not considered by this extension. As such, a web page containing $10 Billion is converted as 77.5₹ ($1) Billion. This is absolutely not what we wanted. The extension is also expected to consider short form of currency such as mn and bn. We can't expect the currency to expanded to 8 or 10 digit for this converter to work correctly

Extremely useful and very handy, but is there any way to display currency symbol BEFORE the amount ?

Just needs to learn to ignore any <pre> or <code> tags. Other than that it works great ?

I don't see conversion rates being updated. It's been 1 USD to 1 EUR for the past couple of days, when in the past couple of days it has been fluctuating between 0.85 to 0.92c of the dollar... I think it should update a little more often and automatically. Can't trust the tool. Sorry. Wish I could use it.

This tool is amazing and I am surprised it wasn't the first result! No other ones worked for me except one which wouldn't let me change the currency to convert to. One tiny feature is that as default, when you double click the icon it toggles it? If this is not possible then that's fine, it would just make it a slight bit easier to read! Thanks!

Doesn't convert all the rates in the page I was testing at, probably has few bugs, but cheers for the idea and features!

This extension only seems to convert currencies from USD to something else, not the other way around. Converting GBP to USD, for example, is impossible. I went to a page with "£24.99 GBP" on it, but it never converted to USD.

Unable to convert all of the prices in a store.

Works really well, except that for some reason the Currency sign (₦) is coming after the number which is quite jarring. Would be nice to see an option to override this behavior or at the very least correct the error.

Love it, but the drop down menus in the options don't work properly. The one for "Currency to convert to" works if you type in it, but shows as black when expanded. The one for "Convert" also works if you type in it, or use the number keys to navigate, but no drop down is shown at all. And all of the other drop down boxes have 1 of these 2 behaviors. I could deal with this if it was me using it, but it's not for me. I'm researching for something for one of my users at work to use, and I don't think she would like that. If this issue gets fixed, I'll definitely recommend it for her.

You broke it with the new update! Conversion options on the drop-down is ALL BLACK with only EUR as the default. A QUICK FIX is using the ARROW KEYS to manually scroll through, but most people usually wouldn't suspect that.

It doesn't work with 원 (Korean Won). Currently, numbers that ends with 원 isn't converted but hopefully it will be in the future.

Would give 5 stars if the $ sign would be in front of the value instead of being at the end, for example S$100 of 100S$.

Works great. I was expecting if you whitelist a domain, then it would automatically blacklist everything else. How do I blacklist everything, except what's in the whitelist? I tried a star (*) but it didn't work. Thank you!

Worked well for some sites, but my particular use case was to use it on https://www.amazon.ae which is the following format: AED3,520.00 , AED 145.00 etc. Is there a regex file or a github project that I could contribute to?!

Works exactly as it should. My only complaint is I wish the mini converter worked both ways, as in, typing in a foreign currency to get my local currency equivalent.

This is the most reliable automatic in-page currency converter I've tried. Kudos! **FEATURE REQUEST** The ability to toggle the currency symbol before or after the converted amount. E.g., $15 or 15$.

Awful. Only converts to EUR, and when you try to change the settings to a different currency, it changes back to EUR as soon as you go to a different page.

Pretty useless extension. I have been trying to use it all day and nothing happens. I think I'll better stick to XE.com, at least I know it works

The way it nicely blends into pages and in video captioning is really awesome!
