It's a good extension but it doesn't work with Dark Reader unless I switch to the native HN layout. Can you please fix it?
Very nice and I'd recommend it. Hey dev, how about a "delete" action for comments? I made a typo and had to disable the extension in order to re-post a comment.
Forces a new style, no visible configuration to disable that. Other user's comment section was not viewable. Generally not up to the name of "Enhancement Suite" when compared to RES.
definitely the best hacker news extension with no doubt, works like a charm in 2020 even if it's updated nearly a year and half ago.
5 stars, period.
The page refresh upon voting is nasty. Please, add a dark theme is it breaks all Stylish dark themes!
Great stuff. Reeeaaaaally needs a 'Collapse All Child Comments' button though. It's annoying to have to constantly collapse to get to only top-level comments.
lost upvote ability
The latest build lost the css for the upvote and downvote buttons. But beyond that it looks significantly cleaner
Perfect for a pro hacker news user
I like that the comment count and votes are displayed side by side. This is the only reason I'm using this extension, since HN itself has already the "collapse" feature. Thank you very much! Edit 1: I like the bigger and clearer font too :)
Used to work, but since Aug 2016 it doesn't show vote counts any more. Maybe YC has changed the CSS class names. Needs to be updated.
It's a good extension, but it's just makes everything so slow!
I like the collapsible threads and the new links, but I'm not fond of the style changes. Wish it were easy to accept the former but not the latter.
I really don't understand why this extension presents such a drastic overhaul of the site interface. Reddit Enhancement Suite doesn't do this. The changes Hacker News Enhancement Suite perform to the css are drastic and unexpected, and experience borders on unusable. Can't say I'm a fan
notbad
I like the UI improvements that this extension brings, but sadly the 'time posted' section on stories on the main page has been removed, and there is no way to bring it back.
Not bad except for one huge flaw: if you get the warning that you're posting too fast...well this extension swallows it and completely loses your comment not allowing you to resubmit it later. I had just finished typing out a long response with code examples and everything, hit submit and boom it's gone with zero indication. Otherwise the extension isn't bad but losing data is a really bad thing (hence my one star). Will revise if it gets fixed but I don't think I'll ever use this extension again because of this.
Awesome!
Collapsible comments!
Best one
upd: No longer breaks HN. Only issue I have: On a widescreen monitor, the text is a tad too small, so an option to change font size would be nice. Other than that, it's excellent. Not overloaded, just the right amount of features without feeling "overdone". Definitely recommended.
Thank you for prompt fixing the first page display.
Collapsible comments, better menus, and generally looks great.
Great extension. Font size should be configurable, though.
Fixes the terrible interface of Hacker News and improves readability tenfold. Thank you so much for this!
Much improved usability of HN. I only have one nitpicky gripe — the drop shadow on the header bar is really annoying. Remove it and you have a really well-designed mostly flat UI.
Hacker News has great material, but the interface is abysmal. If you like the Reddit Enhancement Suite, you'll love the Hacker News Enhancement Suite.
Very nice and deserving of the "Enhancement Suite" title. I would love to see infinite scrolling added. You could check out the HN Infinite Scroll ext and see how they accomplished it.
Nice, really improved the experience on HN
Awesome, I can't imagine using Hacker News without it.
It's nice, but what I liked about RES is that it preserves the original styling. Something about the complete overhaul makes this feel weird.
This refaces HN and makes it usable. I only wish I could force it to use Gentium Book as the default display font. But maybe that's asking for too much... awesome.
Excellent, on par with the Reddit Enhancement Suite. I am surprised this isn't mentioned more on HN! Needs support for infinite scroll though.
Amazing.
Worthy of the name "enhancement suite". Not quite as good as the reddit enhancement suite, but it's definitely on its way. Install this immediately.
Wow, I'm pretty much impressed with this extension. A must-have !
