Really good. Recommendation: a version of this extension should be made for mobile the YouTube website on the Kiwi browser.

Doesn't work

This is the best youtube blocker that I used so far. I just installed and transferred most of my blocked list into this one. What I liked about this extension is that it actually logs in the channel ID instead of Name which can be changed or bypassed while the ID is a unique identifier that can't be changed. What I also like about this extension is that you can block specific videos and comments. I love this feature because there are some very persistent videos being recommended to me when I search Youtube. I want to block those videos but I don't necessary want to block the their channel it just that their video always appears whenever I search it's the algorithm's fault. So this video helps me a ton by enabling me to block specific videos.

Came here to finally block YouTube Shorts, which this extension did not only on the Homepage, but most importantly on my Subscription feed. Only question i have, after digging into the settings & options, is how I disable auto-play? Call me naive for thinking this out to be an option/user defined setting. But when i launch a YT link, i would like the video to NOT auto-play; i'd like it to just sit there waiting for me. Can BlockTube do this?

This extension works perfectly and integrates well into YouTube. I use it daily it seems, wish I didn't have to and that YouTube was better. Only ways this extension could be better, the ability to block for a timeframe, say, 1 year. Like for instance video essays on content I know I'll watch soon, but not now. If YouTube recommended it to me a year from now, I wouldn't mind watching it, but not right now. Another great thing would be if we could block videos beyond a certain age. I'm probably not going to watch anything older than 5 years, especially from channels I'm subscribed to and have probably already seen that video when it came out. If there was a setting to filter out videos by age, that would be great.

Best extension to block channels from appearing in your search results. It helped me block all those scummy Hinditubers who mislead us with their english titles and intros. A must have extension for south indian students

Works well. I find that I am blocking more and more and more, to the point where this needs to be streamlined to a mouseover + block option, instead of having to click aim click. Please streamline the block process, too many shitters out there. Thanks

This extension helps keep the home page the way you want it. Must have if you are picky about the content that is broadcasted to you. Works great except for the occasional YouTuber who creates multiple channels for themselves. I have not tested all of the Advanced blocking or other options. A useful feature to add would be a word filter for example "Hitler" or "Crystal Meth" or "Pawnstars" so videos containing these in the title would be automatically filtered out and can help narrow down on repetitive uninteresting suggestions or disturbing content even after marking not interested to Google.

The option to block shorts entirely works flawlessly, even in my subscriptions page.

I think the extension is good but recently, the extension erased all the channels I blocked and now I have to start over. I hope it'll be fixed soon.

finally something that actually works on search results with ease. don't get disappointed by refreshing the page and seeing the same results again, you need to close the tab entirely to make it work. even ctrl f5 doesn't work. slows down the ajax scrolling like hell but it's still worth it

Fantastic extension. So many cockroaches on youtube that exist just to ruin everything you like make endless repetitive this thing sucks/is woke/nazi bs videos or are just reprehensible/annoying. It brings youtube back to a time when this site had quality control.

Blocking "YouTube Movies & Shows" channel does not work. Youtube keeps recommending videos from this channel on home page and sidebar suggestions.

It did work for awhile. Now I'm getting flooded with resent block channels.

Does not work after a few days. YouTube works it out and then bombards you with the type of material you have tried to work. So it's worse than not having it

Program doesn't work properly anymore. So whether a change on youtubes end or whatever blcoktube doesn't function properly anymore.

BlockTube was updated, this tab needs to be reloaded to use this function

Its useful, but it can make Youtube unusably slow if you block a few too many channels, so I recommend using it sparingly.

Great extension to get rid of the shorts on desktop website, along with blocking annoying channels in recommended. I just wish there was an option to have the runtime blocking not run on videos embedded on third party websites.

Good app to filter a lot of unwanted things from your YouTube experience. But the "Block YouTube Shorts videos" feature seems broken. They still appear in my subscription feed.

Made my YouTube slow down to a sluggish pace, took me a while to figure out it was this add-on destroying my PC. I have RTX 3060 Ti.

Finally one of these extensions that still actually works. Every other one I've tried seems to have been broken in one way or another. If you're looking for a way to completely avoid game spoilers on youtube, you can stop looking, this is it. The keyword function on this is pretty much as close as you can get to blocking content from a particular game (which should be an option in default youtube tbh)

I already have an extension for blocking channels; although I'm sure this would work too. I recently found this and I can block keywords in video titles. It has more uses but that's what I use it for.

It works so well. There are so many repulsive channels that are so popular, they always get recommended. Blocking with YouTube's system doesn't work, so this extension was exactly what I needed. Can you add a toggle to hide the Shorts tab on the left?

Anti-annoy Rare job

I loved it but as of today (a few hours ago to be honest) youtube videos will not show at all when I have Blocktube enabled, not even the player loads. When I disable Blocktube, youtube works as should and the player loads. Is this some bug or did youtube change something to break it? Using Blocktube 0.3.26 on Chrome Version 98.0.4758.102 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Thanks to this extensions, i can finalyl ban all trash clickbait and trash fanboy channel like The AMDumbs Clown aka Jayz Two Cents (AMDumbs Two Cents), Linus Tech Tips (Linus Trash Tips), Gamers Nexus (AMD Nexus), Hardware Unboxed (AMD Unboxed), Max Tech (iSheep Tech), All the PS ponies fanboys channel, All the Linux tard fanboys channel and All the iSheep CrApple channel.

I downloaded this extension thinking it wouldn't work, based on the recent reviews, but actually, it does work. This is one of the few "block Youtube" extensions that let you block specific videos as opossed to an entire channel, which is what I was looking for. I cannot really say if the other features work as I have been only using the block video function. I also can't confirm if the videos I block does not appear on the Home Screen and Youtube Search page as I also don't use these (I search via "site:youtube.com" on Google, and I open my subscriptions feed as opposed to the home screen when going to Youtube). But if I do visit someone's channel with a video I blocked, the video does not show up on the list. The only complaint, and the thing people may be mentioning that it's not working, is that I can only block videos from my "Subscriptions" feed. If I go to someone's channel and click the Three-Dots icon, there's no option to block a video. I can only block a video from there if I manually copy the video's URL address, take out everything with the exception of the values after "watch?v=", and paste on the "Video ID" section of the extension's options page. After doing that, the videos are indeed hidden from that user's videos uploaded page. It would be nice if we also could choose what options to show up on the Three-Dots menu, because I'm not looking to block users, only videos. I give a 4/5 rating. Thank you very much for your work on this extension, I highly appreciate it.

Just what I was looking for. Would be amazing if it worked on we searches also.

Perfect extension, however, should add a cloud sync functionality so that all the settings and block lists are automatically backed up.

Worked beautifully at first but now only works in the search field, no longer after you click a video. Dev seems unable to keep up with the YouTube updates. This issue has existed for over a month now.

Does not block channels in youtube search. And it made me re install just to give this review.

Great for blocking tons of awful channels, videos, and preventing YouTube from thinkin you want to watch the same video again and again. Due to the dev ignoring the "Out of Memory" issue and not even providing a hacky solution such as disabling BlockTube on Reddit I have to lower this to 3/5 stars. If you have no plans to ever use Reddit then this is a 5/5 extension.

finally the one that works

Works flawlessly to block certain channels that i think not appropriate for me. Simply add the channel ID (yes, the ID only witthout the full URL), and BOOM.. all the videos from the blocked channel are gone even from the trending feed

The only blocker I've seen right now which actually does its job, and does it well without needing instructions. Three dot menu has a simple block function which works.

I was tired of seeing channels I don't like or trust as the top search results when I searched for social and political topics in the search bar. This extension allows users to block those channels from showing up anywhere on youtube. It is amazing.

Doesn't seem to work in the "Top News" section on my front page at all whatsoever in the slightest. I want to keep up with the news but certain topics are really triggering.

I am only giving it 1 star so the developers reply to my review. Your extension is great but due to YT's new algorithm update, the Explore section (which was previously the Trending section) cannot be hidden via your extension anymore. Please look into it.

Advanced Blocking does not work inside channel pages as far as I could tell, but is otherwise what I was looking for.

Was working fine until yesterday where now all text will not load on any video. Had to disable hopefully you can fix this... but yeah it sucks now.

Seems quite versatile, including regex and context menu integration (like it used to be and actually is still present by youtube on the home page), but ends up throwing me out of theatre mode and not even playing the video. Maybe its trying to much? All i want is to not have certain channels recommended in the side bar (never use the home page)

Guys please I need your help, the app works perfectly but I accidentally set a random password that was me just clicking random keys, can you guys do something about the password, It is an amazing app but please I need your help. Amazing! Exactly what I have been looking for. Does not slow down youtube at all! You can put in many channels and when you search for those channels nothing will appear: not videos or channel name. Nothing apprears on the trending and home page either, AMAZING!
