This used to work well but in the last year or two has gone down hill. Now 1/10 times it connects to the site it should and if it does it buffers and has a unusably slow speed. Switching to a different VPN.

its very slow. and show connected, but not.

Once again, no Hulu on either Edge or Chrome. the VPN is not fooling more than a couple of sites.

Whenever I connect to a server, it shows no internet. And the speed is so slow as well. The IP's are not good. Most of the sites detect the vpn connection.

It works well for most of what I want to do. Been using it since it started and will continue to do so as long as it does what I need.

I am trying out various VPNs to access a tv channel that is notoriously difficult to unblock. Those that have failed are PIA, IPVanish, Tunnelbear. The ones that works are Surfshark, Nord, Unlocator Smart DNS and PureVPN! PureVpn's browser extension fails to unblock this particular website but the computer app with IKEv2 and Wireguard works. It's one of the few VPNs that still offers IKEv2 as a protocol option in its app. I have Unlocator Smart DNS but it fails intermittently on this particular website hence I decided to trial PureVPN. It is cheaper than Nord and its app is less resource-intensive. PureVpn is also cheaper than Surfshark which is a strong contender plus it offers IKEv2 whereas Surfshark stopped offering this option in the newer versions of its app. I will be keeping PureVpn after my 14 days trial.

Was great until the latest version.. No longer connects to any server; The "logout" option just hangs and have to restart Chrome.. Reinstalled both the Extension AND Chrome itself.. No luck

It was all good until the VPN stopped connecting to the countries I choose and defaults to USA. Happens all the time now. I already submitted a support ticket about it. If it continues i'll have to find another VPN.

Ips are not stable, every times they are changing from place to place, I got my walmart, amazon, and many accounts suspended because of that, you choose USA, new york ip, first day it shows that you r USA, new york but the next day it shows your ip in turkey or UAE.

Worse, slow and no gov websites opening, hotstar very slow and keep disconnectin. i don't recommend who want to use india access.

By forcing everyone to create an account, you basically kick out anyone from iran, russia and china from using your VPN (because your website is blocked in their countries).

Just purchased a subscription, chrome extension doesn't seem to work. Stuck at the login page. Tried removing and re-installing it. still doesn't work.

I can not get any connection for the USA to work. No matter what state in the USA I choose, I have no internet access. This defeats the entire purpose of a subscription to this service. Total fail.

Dealt with Sabastion on their support team...the WORST interaction I have had with an online 'help' service. He kept repeating the same phrase every time I asked a question. Ridiculous! Definitely requires additional training. As for the VPN ..I suspect Netflix is on to you and I can't access the USA site any longer. Not much use to me if it doesn't function.

10/10 Worked just how I was hoping it would.

They get your payment info, but when you want to cancel sub, the button is not there. They hide it. You need to login to paypal site and cancel from there.

I signed up in November 2018 for a 5 year deal it was about £68. All was well for the first two years then I couldn't access the VPN no matter how many times I changed my password and received emails saying I'd changed the password so signed up with another provider with three years still left on the subscription. Yesterday I got an email offering another 5 years deal for around £63 with 11 months left on the old contract. I looked at how much the next two years would be with the provider I opted too when Pure wasn't working and it was more than the 5 year deal offered by Pure so I contracted for another 5 years, hopefully I won't have the same problems in a few years as I had in 2020. Overall when it was working I could access any geo-locked content from around the world. A VPN is a must, I only wish I had got one sooner.

Great Extension! PureVPN is doing things right with the apps and extension for making it easier to VPN!

I just using it and my feel for this service for VPN i think the best one of me speed nice, never has more problem , but one think must update it , a bit time slow speed after run as normal I don't know about that i am using on mac operating system.

Can be improved. Does work on windows 7 but very limited in the number of locations. This is very important actually. Much less than the app locations. Cannot set the security protocol either but you can in the app. The actual VPN app is much better than the browser extension with more locations and more control of the features. But, the extension does work in chrome browser. Obviously, if you use custom apps over the internet without using the browser like I do, then the browser extension is useless. But it does work with the browser in a more limited capacity.

There are problems with this extension often. When talking to support I'm asked to give them total access over my computer, to login remotely.

It gets 5 stars, its one of the best VPN services ive had so far. However it would get star breaking 6 stars if it had a dark theme for both extension and definitely for the windows application.

excellent, on the 8th year and no issues whatsoever. the chrome extension is a perfect tool to access a website with different IP sessions. work flawlessly on mobile phone as well.

ask purevpn to remove the UPGRADE notification on the POP UP which often appears on the chrome extension or firefox extension. To be honest, I don't have a problem with promotions that appear, but I hate it when I click it automatically leads to the member area. because I share this account with 7 of my friends. I'm worried that when they enter the member area, they add addons or other things without my knowledge. please remove auto-login when purevpn does such ad serving.

Not working after the e-mail login switch. Connecting only with old login & password to the server BUT no internet connection to any site at all. Like all the time. PureVPN and it's support need support itself. So useless !!!

I bought a lifetime membership in 2018 through a third party site, stackstream commerce. PureVPN then converted this to a 5 year membership that just expired. When I asked for assistance, they turfed me by saying to try and get help from the third party service (Carestack Commerce) that they used to market their product. This is a common occurrence that is widely reported in Reddit and elsewhere. And TBH, the service was mediocre at best. Learn from my mistake and make a better choice elsewhere for yourself.

Most of the time it doesn't work.

Most gateways do not work. The ones that work have blacklisted/known IPs. So most streaming services don't work. The app on Mac OS hasn't worked for the past whole week. I have not been able to use the VPN even once for any purpose due to these reasons.

OMG!!! you can watch sports, stream videos and buy airtickets cheap using different country's VPN. Absolutely loving it. Sole purpose of vpn is to change your loaction to some other country where you can watch stuff for free

Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I wanted to access overseas Netflix from Australia but Netflix didn't work. When I can work out how, I will be requesting a refund. I haven't used it.

Have used PureVPN for almost 10yrs, I don't see the need to check out any rivals, it does exactly what I need it to do, it's fast and reliable and simple to use. However, in line with a couple of other reviews here, perhaps the BBC iplayer option might need an update as it has not been working as usual in recent days.

Couldn't get Hulu US from France. Bought this VPN, and problem solved. I had a little problem getting it loaded and working, but I did a chat with their customer support and they got me going. And they stayed with me until I got it going. It has worked great since then. I would highly recommend.

Im using PureVPN Chrome extension many years was very happy till now. Few days ago extension stopped working correctly Im tried many IP servers non of them allow to connect internet. Few Customer Support Tickets sent but replays receiving from BOT. Nothing fixed after many requests.

Been using Pure VPN for just over 5 years, and the service has only gotten better and better. This is the first time I've used this extension and I can say it works great. Even with the VPN client running in the background, websites and streaming have no issues. There is a very slight delay when sites are loading due to the "Double VPN", as to be expected, but it doesn't bother me at all. A wonderful application.

This is working fine for me. Only thing that I miss on this from browsec plugin is to be able to see if it is off or on by some online/offline indicator. Like on browsec, if it was on for a website, it will show name of country on extension.

Make logging in to the website easier and it would be 5*

First impressions are excellent! IP spoofing works as expected. So it does what it claims, but I still have to go through all the features. I'm sure they all work satisfactory as well!

This continues to happen. Your "Popular Websites" servers on Google Chrome do not work for the streaming services they're listed for. Currently cannot get US Netflix to allow access through your US Netflix link.

It is just too slow and unreliable. They give you a good deal to get you onboard for years, but you are better off just dropping and getting a new service.

I've been trying to access BBC and ITV from Mexico. Sometime it works, sometime not. For the past two day it's not worked. I've been a subscriber for a number of years, but honestly it's not a reliable VPN. I've had problems before, but not bothered rating it. I wouldn't recommend it and unlikely to renew my subscription when it's due.

Does not work on BBC iPlayer, even if you select the lowest video quality. Closed captions will not load. Customer service, appalling. Had log in problems, showed screenshots of the issue, the arrogance proclaiming all is good our end, working fine! Don't bother replying PureVPN I would rather glue my lips to a cement mixer.

I'm using purevpn for several uk tv sites, on win10/11 notebooks, android phone, tablet and fire stick. when it works, it works smoothly and I can really recommend the easy to use interface, versatility and integration on different devices. oftenly it doesn't though, it slows down massively or sites like bbc iplayer or channel4 give an error. patience and reconnecting helps. sometimes there's a week when you can just enjoy the service you pay for, sometimes your nerves age a year within a week. supportwise my first contact after signing up some months ago was excellent, although the issue wasn't solved, the communication was transparent and helpful. that might have been an accident though, all other support experiences since then were among the worst I've ever had. meaningless autoreplies and obscuring, no helpful interaction at all.

I've been using PureVPN for several years now. Before this I've tried several different premium VPN services from other providers as well and I'm confident to say I'm sticking with PureVPN maybe for life. It's cheaper for me, faster, and the customer service is superb. I just wish you guys can have a way to setup IKEv2 protocol for dedicated IPs on Linux (preferrably Arch). Thanks a ton!

I wanted to try it because it looks good but it redirected me to a privacy error screen. In order to use the vpn you need to make an account. However, I can't even begin to do that because I get redirected to the very screen the vpn is supposed to block. I literally downloaded this vpn so I could get into pages like that. Now I can't even use the vpn or get into the page needed to start the vpn.

Usually works very well A few times there are problems with BBC which I watch most of the time but they are for short time. Support could be better. They have a tendency to send out a standard reply rather than addressing the complaint but the follow up is quite good and in the end the problems are usually solved Since writing there has been no improvement

I have run this app for a few years, the performance of which has improved over time. The connection from the countries I select are all fast and reliable. Hopefully the good performance remains the same in the forthcoming years.

Since a while, I can not login through Chrome extension. In the past it was working properly at all the time but since a while, Chrome extension does not work (Same credentials do work in IOS PureVPN application) Is there anyone who faces this problem?

? After a couple of terrible experiences with extensions don't allowing us to try them for free unless we share our payment methods, I lost all confidence in this way of marketing. It may be a great VPN but I'm not going to risk again, especially if there are plenty of other services allowing us to try them fully free before any payment.

So many emails, with no one actually listening to my request to get a stupid invoice sent to me for the 5 years in advance that I paid for. I kept getting directed to a page on my account that didn't work. It took at least 5 emails to get the invoice sent. Such a simple request. Request 1871228 check for yourself how long it took to get one invoice sent to me. Customer service for Pure VPN is more like "Customer serve yourself, and if you can't, we'll send you to links that don't work, and if that doesn't stop you contacting us, we'll consider sending you the invoice but only if you click on one more link." Now I have to consider how much working with you guys for five years is worth it when it took me 5 emails or more just to get an invoice. Let's trust we'll get smooth sailing from here on in.

When I need to mask my IP or avoid tracking by ads. This is the VPN that delivers. Easy to set up and just a click away to use the service. I have not seen a big degradation in internet speeds when using this VPN. Very pleased with the service.

Most of the time it will not open. I have to login again and again ,but sometimes it does not open at all. I am very dissatisfied with this product.

Works pretty well for me as a Chrome extension, but stopped working on Brave this month with the latest browser upgrade, and much of the time the command line doesn't work on Linux.

i was satisfied at the beginning, but a couple of days now i'm not at all. I don't know what happened but I can't connect to google, i deleted VPN, i install it again, and the only way to connect to internet was to disable VPN from chrome. Also i cant even find my profile, as i did in the begging, and i don't know how to end this VPN when the year passes. Last but not least i tried many times to find someone to speak with in the pureVPN system and none of the sides in the internet was woking, and one that i found wanted to pay for it in order to help you! UNSATISFIED AT ALL

Works well but I would prefer it if I didn't have to disconnect so often to get a website to work when it rejects me for being "outside the UK" even though I'm using a London location. Prefer not to keep changing to say the BBC specific node. I'm now experiencing problems logging into Discogs from a UK location. This has just started, been logging in successfully for may weeks so why has this changed? Can only log in using a USA server.

Good app if you're a paid subscriber, I can't say how the free version is. Although you do have to disconnect and reconnect quite often purely so it works properly (Server traffic I'm sure) it is leaps and bounds better than, comparatively, to the free one on Opera's browser, using it on Edge and Chrome instead.

It is frustrating to keep running into permission issues when I want to access completely safe sites that I have used for years with zero problems. Error codes such as 403 Forbidden should not apply for sites such as genealogy research or hair care products. Every time they have me do a update to their program, I run into these problems and am told that those sites aren't supported by their services. This is ridiculous. Then there is the lengthy process of trying to find a resolution. I feel like so much of my time is wasted and although they claim to want me to have the best customer experience, they are continually not meeting my needs. It feels like I, an adult, must keep asking "Mommy PureVPN" may I have permission to work on genealogy? or "Daddy PureVPN" may I have permission to order some different shampoo? You have got to be kidding me!

I have been trying to contact PureVPN for help but to date have had no success what a very poor customer service they provide!

Very good App on mobile & windows 10, but the App on Amazon Stick is not working well after the latest update, please rectify and make it user friendly. Reasons: takes a long time to run, page frozen on country random choice "America". I have to wait longer to change the choice., not really good.

One of the most frustrating experiences I've had in a long while. Pure VPN knocks my 500 Mbps fiber optics connection down to 20 Mbps. Handed off to multiple support specialists who, based on the tests they asked me to run and re-run, never even bothered to see what was done before being handed off to them. Stay as far away as you can from this provider!

This has to be the worst tech company EVER!. I have a 5 year paid subscription with a dedicated IP option that I simply cannot use because they messed with my username. I have reported it many times and they simply close the support tickets without solving the issues. If you want to throw your money away purevpn is the way to go! Stay away from this people.

It's ok. Have Gigabit Broadband, it's super fast. But when I turn on PureVPN and download, it can take a very long time. So the VPN Tunnel must be fairly narrow. I wonder what the bandwidth is when the VPN is on versus when off (1 Gigabit)
