Would give it 5 stars but it seems to lower the frame rate of videos. Watching anything where motion is occurring gets slightly choppy. Not bad, but enough to notice and turn off the extension. Extra brightness doesn't help much if the video is choppy.

to gooood and easy to customize and work fine for all sites...u may think me as a bot who give positive comments on it..but honestly it is so good..

Literally the only way to watch any of those new streaming shows from Disney and others Life saving extension for those shows that are wayyyyyy to dark

I really liked this extension very much, but recently it has been causing me some issues in video streaming websites.

ok it works but since it adjusts brightness i only really open it when it is too bright so it should not be all white where on the options page and so i hope that changes. it is enough for me to not use it but there unfortunately isn't anything close to as good as this.

LOVE this!! I was watching the conjuring movies in chronological order, first one is The nun, but it's SO dark, you can barely see whats going on. Installed this and WOW!!! Works like a charm!@!

Worked like a charm for a long time. Recently stopped working for netflix though, still works on youtube.

The setting was exactly what im looking for but it doesn't work on picture in picture mode so sad TT

First of all let me give big respect for this extension. Secondly, if anyone found out fullscreen issue, when your extension's setting are not being applied, instead of using fullscreen button inside the player, try to use your browser fullscreen shortcut F11,

Awesome extension. works great on youtube. Also, try it on google stadia! definitely helps.

on YouTube and twitch the blacks in video were really crushed, with this extension turned on it fixed the problem without even changing any settings

works but causes twitch to run at 30fps instead of 60

Stealing another raters comment, "Over the moon" rating::(******) 6 stars If your looking to adjust the view (NOT CREATE) this is the only Ext you need. Works on the fly (but in some cases refresh to activate). MANY ADJUSTMENTS. Can create your own filters, HINT don't forget to use decimal entries as 0.94 in your customized filters exponent. Now if only it could improve the VID quality (of course that's mainly due to connection and original sent/uploaded quality. )

One huge feature that is missing is the capability to store the value of the variables (e.g. Brightness, Contrast, etc.) into "buttons" so as to not keep sliding them from one video streaming service to another...since every video stream has its own default settings with variable Brightness for example. This way when the user switches from one streaming service to another all they have to do is push a button and not keeping using the current sliders, which is pain in the butt.

I don't think I've ever written an review for an extension before, but after 10 minutes with this one, I felt the need to give it the praise it deserves. My apartment gets a lot of sunlight, and I hate to close the curtains and block it out. However, the glare on my screen makes it hard to watch shows and movies with a dark color palette (i.e. anything on HBO.) On a whim I searched "video brightness Chrome extension" and found this one. It does absolutely everything I need it to and I can finally watch TV in my warm, sun-filled room!

Exactly what I was looking for. I watch a lot of video of people coding with a white background. I go to great lengths to keep a white background off my screen because of the glare and the amount of time I spend on the computer, even at night. So when I have to watch a video tutorial at night with a standard shining screen background, I cringe and squint. Using this Video Styler, I can invert the image and adjust it so the bulk of the video is kept dark, just like the rest of my screen. At home, I do the same thing with VLC but I didn't think I'd find a version for the web. Thank you! Very useful.

Makes watching nighttime scenes possible again.. without futzing with the monitor settings, and, frankly, does a far better job of it too

This plugin is really good! Like a few other people have said, I wished it had per-site filter, but it's not too much inconvenience to just turn it off when I switch sites. I also love that you can make custom filters to use! It's really handy because I was watching a dark video, and just upping the brightness on my laptop wasn't cutting it, and when using a brightness increasing plugin all the whites were washing everything else out. With this, I made a simple edit of the 'Gamma +' filter, and it works great!

Very good extension but would love to see "lift shadows" slider so that brightness of dark areas can be adjusted without affecting brights and mid-tones. I suppose with that would also like to see sliders for mid-tones and brights.

Works like a charm, at least for me. I can now do very basic color grade on videos I watch, for my own taste.

Since i don't have a TV-hookup in my bedroom i too struggled with the darkness of many movies and series i watch via Netflix. If i use the settings of my monitor than everything else, especially the white of websites just simply screams at my eyes. This App which i discovered yesterday is a blessing and i'm glad i googled for it. It also seems to affect videos on Facebook, not just Netflix.

Very useful, watching blurry washed-out low res cartoons from the 70s or older on Crunchyroll or Youtube, like Lupin III, Nu Pogodi! or old analogue TV shows like Blackadder. Also helpful when watching gameplay of poorly lit video games like MYST. This has saved me HOURS of adjusting saturation, light/shadow levels, & sharpness on screencaps in Photoshop. Note: You need to empty your browser history & then refresh the video if you find that it is not working in full-screen mode.

I like it but I discovered thet the frame rates drop when the viewer is on. It for me ends up being an unwatchable experience even though the lighting effects are great. Thanks!

Love this extension! I downloaded it during the battle scene of Game of Thrones, Season 8, which was too dark to see anything. Video Styler made everything crystal clear! Now if only there was an extension for a story rewrite...

It worked great until I made the video at DailyMotion full screen, then the effects weren't applying [brightness, contrast, saturation].

I'm over the moon that this extension exists! I recently swapped out my video card and now "nighttime" youtube videos and netflix scenes seem so much darker, I can barely make anything out. BUT... everything else on my screen/desktop is exactly the same. If I were to fiddle with my monitor settings it would blow out everything else, making that option moot. Note: Nothing "flickers" as other commenters said. Everything plays butter smooth. A big thank you to the developer.

Everything is good but in full screen view video starts to twitch....

OK,... the BIG DISCOVERY I made after using this app (and loving how my YouTube video looked!) was that I later discovered what I was seeing on MY SCREEN ONLY SHOWS THAT WAY ON MY COMPUTER'S SCREEN!!! When using another device such as my smart phone, I pulled up the same video I created on Youtube and the enhancements did NOT show!!! BUMMER!!! This is only a game to play with yourself when using your on Chrome Browser. I ALSO discovered that this same Youtube video I created did NOT show the enhancements on my own computer's screen when using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox to view my Youtube video! "DOUBLE-BUMMER!" There's really "No Actual Editing" that results in "Permanency For ALL TO VIEW ON ANY DEVICE OR BROWSER!" Very disappointing as initially I was under the impression I'd be doing "real & permanent editing" on my Youtube videos for ALL TO SEE regardless of what device or browser they'd be using!!!!

Doesn't do anything for me. Fiddling with the settings doesn't change anything. I could suspect this is because I don't have hardware acceleration enabled, but that shouldn't be required.

It really works! One of my monitors was starting to dim and I had the brightness maxed out but still couldnt see alot of details on videos. I added this, upped the brightness and contrast in the plugin and instantly better. I can watch videos on this monitor again. Awesome plugin!

Works flawlessly. Just wish it had a per website filter. Since I only use it for Hulu and Netflix when watching TV/Movies.

I've been looking for a _Sharpen_ filter extension... thanks for this functionality :). Maybe another would be a _Clamp_Whites_ so sudden white screens wouldn't hurt so much. This extension is so close to perfection...

I got this for brightness etc on Netflix and it works very well not bothered with anything else.

i love how well it works, i just wish every time i closed and later re-opened chrome there are a bunch of new extensions that i didnt add.

Works great. Only complaint is that you can't save different settings. It would be nice to have a dropdown of saved settings that I could apply to different videos. Fortunately, I currently only need this for one YouTuber.

It works perfect and I think it could be better. Keep fighting. I suggest that you should make some built-in styles for users to select.
