What’s new in version 1.0.28?

Doing some complex calculations and #REF’ing out? Frustrated by needing to use your mouse on Google Sheets for even the smallest thing? You’ve come to the right place!

➤ Trace Precedents: Get Your Formulas Right

Our trace precedents tool is a 3-layer deep auditing tool that lets you debug your (or someone else’s) models, analyses, calculations, etc. Click into every cell that is referenced in your formula to make sure your formula is doing what it’s supposed to.

We are similar to the tracing precedent tool seen in Macabacus, Factset, and S&P Capital IQ plug-ins for Excel but faster & tailored to Google Sheet’s interface.

➤ Customized Excel Shortcuts: Be Faster on Google Sheets (No Mouse!)

We find Sheet’s native shortcuts SUPER unintuitive. So we’ve taken some of our most frequently used formatting commands and enable you to customize them to anything you want.

We’ve defaulted these shortcuts to native Excel given this is our preference, but with SheetWhiz you’re able to customize formatting shortcuts to whatever works best for you.

Supported Customizable Shortcuts
• Auto-Fit Column Width
• Auto-Fit Row Height
• Borders
• Insert & Delete Columns
• Set Column Width
• Set Row Height
• Paste Special (Formula, Format, Value, Transposed)
• [Coming Soon] Trace Dependents
• [Coming Soon] Auto-Sum
• [Coming Soon] Font Color Cycle
• [Coming Soon] Font Auto-Color
• [Coming Soon] Other key shortcuts like font color, fill, and custom number cycling

About SheetWhiz: We’re a small team based in San Francisco united by the pain of adopting Google Sheets after years of Excel use. Being forced to use Sheets by our respective companies, we experienced firsthand Sheets’s lack of tools & functions that exist in Excel as well as its unintuitive shortcuts. We estimate that we lost about ~40% of our spreadsheet productivity moving from Excel to Sheets….and so we decided to do something about it.

Models and analysis are harder in Google Sheets without my shortcuts! The Paste Special pop up with paste formulas, values, formatting = huge!

Love the paste special shortcut! Can customise your own shortcuts - even better than Excel.
