It works great on non-skippable youtube ads. but it blocks long youtube ads. I would appreciate if the extension also blurred those long youtube ads and automatically skip ads. if this extension is open source, please let me know. I can also contribute on this feature (TS developer ?️)
It works great. Never again will I have to listen to cringe inducing ads or annoying jingles.
Does not work. Sometimes blurs out and never mutes.
This works exactly as intended in late 2021, and it's a shame I haven't looked for an app like this sooner. I do hope the creators still get their moneys.

A month using this extension and it works wonderfully. It saves my ears from high volume ads. It's not always the ads fault of course, sometimes the video I am watching has so low volume, so I of course raise the volume then an ad shows up blasting my ears.
there is no better feeling than seeing some annoying ad that always pops up be rendered powerless. thank you.

Yup! Would be nice if you could separate the mute and the skip functions. Otherwise big thumbs up.
It is like a different version of adblock. Some ads almost don't even appear. There are options but they are very limited. If you just want ads to be silent and nothing more, this extension is not for you. I wonder if I could even support creators I like while using this.
No way to only mute ads, it forces me to also auto-skip and hide the visuals of the ads too. Sometimes it instantly skips ads without waiting 5 seconds, which is very annoying since it'll ruin my ad-karma and just give me longer unskippable ads later
YouTube got too greedy and this extension "fixes" almost everything. Thank you!
Works perfectly, and is very unobtrusive.
Didn't work at first. Tried many different thing to get it to work. Not sure which one actually was successful. Seems to be working correctly now.
Seems to be working so far on my playlists. Other similar extensions weren't working sometimes with playlists so hopefully this will continue to work! Edit: Why does YouMute need the browsing history permission? What is this used for? These 2 youtube links both play the same video. YouMute doesn't seem to work with the second link yet. No longer works unfortunately, could be something changed on youtube or chromium's end, no idea, the only thing this extension does now is auto mute the ads, no fading out or skipping.
My first impressions is that it seems to work, though to be able to give a more honest review I will need more time to see just how effective it is.

This one is the real deal; does exactly as promised — unlike its competitors. Shame that auto-skip is bundled in to the same setting as auto-mute (because some creators deserve the revenue more than others). But that drawback is more than made up for by the fact that it dims/desaturates ads so you don't even have to see Matthew McHollywoody's face as he tries to sell you old man cars.

works perfectly! would like to have the option to only skip ads longer than 15 seconds.
Please make the option to mute ads seperate from the option to auto skip because skipped ads dont provide the same revenue to creators and i would like to be able to just have the ads muted and nothing else.
