The extension also needs additional Java component (Java JRE SDK) to be installed in order to work. I got it working after downloading the latest version here: https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Hopefully this will help.
It does not work and I even think it might be a scam. In the menu (click 3 dots then manage extension) I saw the settings of the extension. "Site access'' This extension can read and change your data on sites. You can control which sites the extension can access. Automatically allow access on the following sites http://*.orpea.net/* https://*.allsoft.be/* https://*.auctionline.be/* https://*.e-contract.be/* https://*.ejustice.be/* https://*.jd-consult.be/* https://*.nkcn-cia.be/* https://*.orpea.net/* https://localhost/*' Looks like shady links to me. I will remove it immediately.
My experience with eID ranges from "An absolute pain to get working" to "Impossible to get working".
