I've used this extension for years with Firefox and loved it. Only since installing it on Brave, I've noticed that the extension needs to "Access your data for all web sites and Access browser tabs" I would love to know why.

worked for me most of the time in Toronto, but as of day it shows the current weather on the icon, but when clicked says 'There was a problem connecting to the weather service'

Permissions are excessive. permissions required are: "Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit"

This has completely stopped working (cannot connect to the weather servicer) and without support. Don't waste your time.

Was fun while it lasted, but recently it has been intermittently erroring with "there was a problem connecting to weather service" and now it's becoming less intermittent and more of constant problem. I tried running it as the only extension allowed in incognito mode, to test whether another extension was interfering with it, but the problem remains. I've made no changes on my machine or router which would be related, so I'm gonna stop troubleshooting an start looking for a an extension to replace it.

Love It, Love It, Love It - Get Rid of Radar-Snap!!!! Until Adobe Flash was buried I used to go to the NOAA website and look at the weather. The current NOAA radar is not user-friendly (at least for me). I was looking for an alternative and found Radar-Snap. Based on the reviews of Radar-Snap I decided that I would download it. It was USELESS!!! It appears that the developer no longer exists, because the same question was asked back in the middle of 2018. I looked for another extension and found this. So easy to install and set up, I can decide how much (or how little) information I want. The radar is so much easier to look at and the loop loads right away. I haven't experienced any of the problems other users have, but I've only had it going for 30 minutes or so. I'll see what happens over time and may amend my review.

Stopped working on my Chrome browser months ago with an error stating it could not connect to the weather service. I keep uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it makes no difference. That error remains. So disappointed. I really loved this extension until it stopped working.

Love it! Best weather extension available. Just wish I could have it on Edge.

Very handy at looking at instant radar by looking at the little box. You can put the box on the right or left and it does not interfere with anything. If you put your mouse over the Radar part that expands out it shows you instantly the radar of the place you chose. You can even choose your home address as an area. This does not have a Facebook page for us to stay up with any updates or anything else, but it should have a Facebook page so I could easily point my friends to download it from there. Making it easier to download would get tons more people, plus adding a video of showing how it works. But 5 star all the way. It is hard to choose a weather app as there are so many out there, make it stand out more.

Good app, but having problems in Chrome. When trying to change location, I get message saying server is blocked by an extension but doesn't say which one.

Fantastic extension

Still my favorite weather extension. I just love everything about the way it works. You get the little icon with the weather condition and temperature, you can quickly change between locations, and you get the little panel with a summary of the weather when you click on the icon. Wonderful in every way!

SIMPLE: It doesn't work. A red asterisk in the center of the umbrella icon. This after installing the "fixed version". What happened? This was the best radar a extension out there

i would like to give this app a 5 star rating but for the last few days the forecast and the onscreen temp are not working,it tells me it can not connect to the server.please fix this soon.right now there is an icon with an umbrella with a red exclamation point in it.

Great extension, but, for some reason can no longer connect to the weather service.

For those having a problem with the error of it not being able to connect to a service, do this below to fix it. I have no clue when the extension author will (or if he'll) be back, he posted he was having family health issues regarding his parents, so something obviously happened. I hope he's ok and does come back, I love this extension! HOW TO FIX: 1. Go to chrome://net-internals/#hsts. Enter forecastfox3.accuweather.com under Delete domain security policies and press the Delete button. 2. Now go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData (or through the settings option), tick the box Cached images and files and press click the button Clear data. Refresh Forecastfox and BOOM! Fixed! Worked like a charm for me! For those that wanted the technical reason why it doesn't work: "your browser forcibly redirects from http://forecastfox3.accuweather.com to https://forecastfox3.accuweather.com but forecastfox3.accuweather.com doesn't have https" found here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/forecastfox-users/GqjFixL0cpA Enjoy!

This extension ran nearly flawlessly for years until last month. Now all I get is an error message saying "There was a problem connecting with the weather service." This started shortly after Chrome was updated to version 77.

This is my favorite weather app, has been for many years. However, it no longer works in Chrome, only in Firefox

Since 6 October it has stopped working, saying can not connect to weather service.

The extension worked well until recently. I'm on v4.25 currently and it will only tell me "There was a problem connecting to the weather service." Meanwhile, my other computer with the same extension works flawlessly.

I love the ForecastFox extension it's great. However, lately when i use it on Google Chrome or Ccleaner browser it has failed to update. The last time mine has updated was Sept 13, 2019 and today is Sept 23, 2019. So far, it has updated on Fierfox browser without any problems. Hope they can fix the problem of updating for Google Chrome or Ccleaner Browser.

Used it on Firefox, now on Chrome and Edge Chromium. Best user interface, gets right to the weather information I'm seeking. Note: I didn't find the extension under weather in the store. Found it by searching for Forecastfox. This extension deserves more attention (higher search result) in the Chrome Store.

It used to be great and accurate. Since the 4 July update It has been freezing up. Uninstalled for now to look into the permissions thing

I live in a rural area in the Philippines where most weather applications does not recognize and will automatically default to Manila which is far away. Not only does this app know my location, but also gives the most accurate weather of any app I have tried! My Favorite!

It might work well on mobile, but I use it on a laptop, and it's really changed. The Accuweather site now won't save your location once you clear your cookies, and you have to be a subscriber to even check the next day's hourly information, which makes it useless for making plans for the next day. I'll keep it, because the dropdown is really the best I've found, but I'm now also having to use Wunderground to get tomorrow's forecast hourlies. Such a PITA. I wish there was a decent Wunderground extension, but nope.

Used it for years on Firefox, glad to see it's available and still great on Chrome.

The best weather extension. I have used it in Firefox when it was new, then it was broken then the developer made the 'Fix' version which I use to this day in Firefox and now Chrome. I donated and it is worth every penny.

Don't like some of the "mandatory" permissions. Why would they want to change what I post or save?

Great extension but the unneeded permissions is ridiculous and shows poorly about the dev.

spikes my CPU usage to over 100% on mac per tab (300%+ how is that possible?) and DESTROYS my battery life. Not sure why the OG forecastfox recently disappeared but I miss it dearly. Not sure if you'll get the same problems on windows because OG forecastfox is still working for me. If you add this pay attention to your chrome task manager and make sure its not killing your CPU

Causes *major* CPU problems on mac. CPU for each tab goes from an average of < 2% to > 100% as soon as this is installed (plus this uses the same). I'm not sure what this is doing to cause each tab's CPU usage to increase by this much, but it doesn't seem right....

By far the best weather extension. Been using it for over 10 years starting with firefox.

I've used Forecast Fox for years, back when it was an extension on Firefox. When it stopped functioning properly, I hunted for another weather extension that did basically the same thing, but with no real luck. I finally got fed up with the bugginess of other extensions and went to look for more -- -- And to my surprise and delight, I found the fixed version! I haven't had any issues thus far, and it has significantly more options than many of the other weather apps I've tried (one wouldn't even let me enter a location... and didn't auto-detect it, either!). Major thanks to the dev that picked this back up to update it! It's seriously been my fave for something like a decade now. :)

I used it since early versions. It's free, it's well organize, it take feedback seriously. NOW, even better with new outlook. Great within themes, great (i live in Canada, real feel temperature is big bonus) LOVE LOVE IT 4.9 stars 0.1 :) for improvement. A must have add-on. Period.

Wants to "read and change all your data on the websites you visit". Nags too much, like "fixed a typo in vietnamese translation, please contribute $€% ...". If I need a change log I will go and read it, don't need a popup tab every now and then. It was a good and useful extension some years back. Uninstalled, switching to OS-level weathering plugin.

I have used other weather programs but this one does it all and gets it right. Love it!

I have tested another weather extensions, but Forecastfox (fix version) is the best of them.

Since I installed this extension, Chrome kept crashing. Not worth the pain of making chrome dysfunctional.

New permission level is unacceptable. It is engine for collecting users data not useful extension.

asks for permission to read and modify data on all websites. I don't care why or how the author justifies it. I'm not willing to give that permission.

adding features should not come at the expense of security.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING weather extension - the BEST in the web store (I have tried all)..Big improvement over the old version.

Once again, it is requiring access to all of my data on all websites. Kindly don't post links to discussions of why he wants this permission for a feature. I get that. It is still not a level of access I (or other) users are willing to grant to a weather extension. And if you aren't showing uninstalls, it is because many users simply disable it, allowing you the opportunity to fix it rather than uninstalling it.

Removed from Chrome - it now asks for permission to access and view your full web history.

Used it until the permissions changed to require access to data on all sites. Completely unacceptable for a weather extension.

Love this extension, but the map looks absolutely terrible. I get it that you probably use it for performance, but it's 2017. Is there any way you can make something like this one default? http://en.sat24.com/HD/en/EU/visual I don't know how to get a Custom link from that.

Once again, the June 6th update unreasonably wants access to "read and change all your data on the websites you visit." That's an unacceptable request. Nobody should grant that access to this extension.

I like this app a lot but don't understand why it has to keep instances of Chrome running even after Chrome is shut down.

The app is excellent except...It disables itself when I close the browser. Very annoying.

My favorite extension of all time... Been running it since its initial creation before 2011! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for fixing it! I ran it for years supported by Ensolis then they quit supporting it, and it disappeared from the Chrome store! I kept using it though at some point it quit allowing me to change the locations. Then one day the forecast dates quit being correct and YOU fixed that back in 2015, lol. I had to manually load the extension through the Chrome Dev area. Then with a later version of Chrome I got a warning every-time I opened Chrome and had to post it privately to the Chrome store and install through there to stop it from nagging. Finally, it quit allowing update of locations again. Now, you fixed it and posted it. I am doing the Happy Dance. Might I suggest in your next tweak on line 44 of popup.html that you add a space then parenthesis (Fixed by Oleksandr Popov) You have earned your name being displayed on the popup itself! Thanks again!

Lots of bugs, can't even add cities

It's not as nice as the Firefox version of the extension, but it gets the job done, I guess.

UPDATE: Fix version has been provided (thanks!) Now back to being my favorite. It was my favorite weather extension until the permissions were changed. I can't imagine it needs read/write access to all data. I will sadly be removing it.

So glad I found this! I missed the old Forecast Fox after it was removed. Then Bam! Here's a fix version. Awesome!

Uninstall! New update allows the extension to read/write all your data on ANY WEBSITE. Developer is giving a technical reason, but this level is not required for a weather extension. He is either being disingenuous or is not competent enough to do it right and secure. Either way, not someone I want to have READ and WRITE access to all my data on ALL WEBSITES.

AVOID IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR DATA STOLEN! Permissions were changed to allow spying on the user, went from a useful extension to malware.
