Not useful

Fast support, terrible extension. Doesn't work to prevent malware from malicious sites. I tested this extension with eicar malware test site. The extension showed that the site was malicious a few seconds later. Little did I know you need to have the Bitwarden client installed on your PC (more on this later). Extension doesn't prevent infection without the client installed. Taken at face value, this extension is supposed to block the attack BEFORE it gets into my system. In other words, I had already been "infected" even though Trafficlight says it was blocked, but in reality it wasn’t. This was tested on several W10 &W11 systems, running on virtual machines and actual consumer desktops (not Enterprise). Bitwarden Traffic extenstion description fails to mention that you need to have Bitdefender client installed. Only after you reach out to support do they say this works alongside the Bitdefender client (installed on your PC); hence, no protection without the client. Extension has a list of sites (which is largely based on Google's list) and then flags or blocks them. You can't block domains, only individual websites. For instance domain *.xyz is a malicious domain but Trafficlight does not give the user the option to block it. It's a fairly new domain and Bitdefender Trafficlight fails to detect and block this domain. Extension hasn't been updated since August. For malware preventions, this is unacceptable. In summary, beware of sophist's reviews especially reviews written like ads. This extension is like a vehicle laser radar detectors . Only AFTER you are hit is there a reaction, sometimes not at all. Not recommended. Yet foolish and gullible people think it works otherwise. Uninstalled.

I've used BitDefender products for several years & I've had no problems; this product really outdoes itself! The browser extension takes up no room, but packs a punch! Great product!

The security layer from Bitdefender, an extension on my heavily used Chromebook, and it was created for browsing the internet, and security protection is very high when in the universe with so much danger and strangers waiting for an opportunity to take advantage when an opening appears. Bitdefender is focused on protection at the front door, not allowing bad actors inside . Five stars, and thank you for helping me keep safe!

The extension does the job. The only thing I don't like is the font in the extension itself, which makes it look very outdated.

Honestly - does more harm than good. Its protection might be good, but you wouldn't know it from the amount of false-positives it spews out. It blocks every website whose certificate "could not be verified"; apparently, it's about every third site on the internet. In short - unless you're really obsessive with security, skip this one and find another extension.

Very high accuracy rate at which sites are blocked for malicious activity and intent, with also a nice advance warning in google search. One thing to note is that this *breaks duckduckgo* search engine, as when you click on the search item, it directs you to a bitdefender page not the actual site.

It kills my chrome, as soon as i enable this, no internet access. As soon as i disable it or remove it, the internet works again. I tried removing all other extensions, no go. Possibly incompatible with my anti-virus.

so NON INTRUSIVE, that it breaks google translate and makes it as if you using dial up speeds to translate hello (as if you were downloading 10gb)

This thing is making my chrome browser very slow with new Big Sur update.

Checks out the web page and let's you know FAST about any problems. You can click on the warning and get details. Sometimes it is just your own bank that has not updated its certificate. But sometimes it is a known attack site that you really should back out from. One time I ignored the warning and had to reinstall the macOS. So I pay more attention now.

Tested with different malware attack. Blocked all, work 100%

It works, but there are bugs. I've tested it on 25 windows workstations. They all have exhibit the same TrafficLight bug. When you click on the TrafficLight icon in Chrome (or Firefox), you get a black box. In addition, the "Extension options" button doesn't work in Chrome.

I like what it is supposed to do. Lately (July & August 2019) it is crashing Yahoo pages. They freeze and become unresponsive. They won't scroll smoothly and the cursor sometimes freezes too. This happens until a notification appears saying that Trafficlight has crashed. Click this banner to restart. When I click the banner the page still acts screwy for awhile and then it works again.

Warns you about danger and is especially useful when it is a faithful spoof of your bank's website, warning you not to enter your credentials and check the URL. In today's world of DNS server hacking, which can send you to spoofs of your bank, your credit cards, etc, this is a VITAL protection. I also use the Bitdefender antivirus, never penetrated since i've had it, over five years now.

Crashes/stops responding on my Mac frequently and sometimes even freezes the browser. I'm very disappointed with this extension and have started wondering how good the antivirus software is with this extension being an example of the companies coding abilities.

I use it and don't have any problems. It is completely free. What I would like is if the Bitdefender main AV software would be somehow better connected with this extension...

cool protection

This extension is lame. While no pro's have tested it yet, it's been tested plenty of times on Youtube and at malwaretips.com. Go and look at the results... and then pick a better extension.

It was very useful by telling me what information of mine a website could potentially track, aswell as blocking potentially harmful websites.

VERY GOOD! Its purpose is to show whether any malware has been detected on the site you are currently on. Practically a decent antivirus for Google Chrome

It is useful, however would cause Mac chrome frozen and no response!

I like how the Web Of Trust extension worked. It checks every link on every page, including search results pages. It puts various colored circles next to every link. You made yours the ridiculous half-assed way. You can keep it. :(

Works well and no issues so far. Good alternative to WOT Web of Trust. It could use a few more options but is lightweight and does the basics.

My only concern is that often no ratings appear on search result pages. I search for something and there is no rating for the sites. I can see by the URL for familiar sites but if I'm searching for something new it doensn't help me until I get on the page. Other than that it's great.

The added "Share this page" context menu item is really annoying. BitDefender TrafficLight should have an option to turn it off.

Have to constantly reload the page every time you go to a new page with bing, with google search it works fine!

Does block some but other block site like porn well not be block by bitdefender but systemcare 9 well other site well say block by bitdefender.... but its good enough :)

Not displaying search engine result ratings. Checked settings, rebooted, etc. That's the main reason I want a tool like this. Anyone else having this issue?

Although very useful and rather simplistic, I haven't really noticed any changes in browsing, minus it preventing me from visiting certain websites which are considered to be dangerous.

I trust their products and been using the products on my PC for years now, never have or get any infection or any kind of virus problem all this years. I believed in it. Should you all too.

Are you aware that there is an extension called Total Defense Trafficlight, which has copied your extension description word-for-word? Just an FYI... Trafficlight has kept me from entering malicious sites many times. The only issue I have is it isn't compatible with any search engine results other than Google.

Frankly I'd say it's useless. I wanted to test it and see if it would be a good addition to protect my parents from infecting their computers. I've done some common searches that I know for a fact would bring up suspicious websites and all of them were green lit. The only one marked as red was the Pirate Bay. Bummer.

BitDefender is my favorite antivirus. Having this is like having BitDefender IS 2015 for free.

This extention looks to be useful and functional. FEEDBACK: icon on the search results: on the left side is quite annoying, maybe you can move it to the end of the title, like mywot.

It does what it says it will do.....a novel characteristic these days.

I tested some malicious sites with know viruses and this site didn't indicate any warning or not even doing anything at all. Just an accessory extension that doesn't work.

Adds "Share this page" social media spam to the right-click context menu, no way to remove it short of re-coding the files. CPU hog, false positives, poor perfomance...bleh!
