easily one of the best extensions.
Honestly speaking this addon is nothing just a gimmick. I was recommended to use to hide my exact and spoof location which browsers are detecting automatically without my location permissions esp., google. I was having problem with brave browser. I tried and see it doesnt change anything, forgetting showing up new location. Google still knows my real like before installing the addon. Cleared the cache and history of browser but still the addon doesnt help. Using 100 and 101 and 102 browsers of chrome and chromium based. This addon works on none of the chromium based browsers. If dev is proud of his work, then explain me how this addon works? I dont want to install another addon that doesnt work. Anyways, it doesnt work and my rating would be 1 star. Poor.

Needs improvement. WARNING - Actually only works on fixed location mode. If you use and other non fixed modes (low - medium -high) it detects your real location. Tested on Google and Yahoo search. always you in conjuction with a vpn and secure dns service for better protection. But the ninja need improvement
Hey guys, can anyone help me with this? I download this extension and i open it just fine. But when i open it, the map doesnt show at all. Everything works perfectly fine, except the map. It doesnt shows. Anyone know how to fix this?
I set location to Wester Australia and set it to "Fixed Location" and It didn't even change the geolocation. I hate it do not use, it's super outdated.

Instructions are NOT clear even in the demo. Search feature is broken, it doesn't work. Here's the problem. Extensions like LOCATION Guard will work to partly spoof your location on non sophisticated websites. Most can easily detect your location by your IP address. For example, running a test on IP/DNS, your IP address is shown and your location based on that. When you go to sites like deviceinfo me, you will see your IP address which is very close to your actual location and the spoofed location. Therefore, there's nothing you can do to spoof your [actual] location unless you use a VPN and spoof your NETWORK location — this add on does NOT spoof your IP address location. Make sense, children?

Gone crazy fighting with the wrong location in chrome. Nothing did work, not the default location in Windows, not the default location in Chrome. After some time the wrong location always returned. This extension helped me so much, thank you for that!
Seems to work OK, I guess. I had a problem at first because even if you set your 'Fixed Location', it doesn't change the 'Default Level' to 'Fixed Location'. So, even though you chose a fixed location on the other side of the planet from you, your location is still coming up as very close to where you are - until you figure out what's up and change that setting. Apparently 95% of the bad reviews on here are due to that misunderstanding. It's a huge UX design flaw, so sorry guys but definitely 2 stars off.

This is fake application, not fake location.
Does exactly what I needed it to do. However, selecting a location from a map over and over in some cases is the most optimal way of changing your location (especially if you need to do it several times). I wish there was a way to "SAVE" fixed locations and give you options to select previously saved Fixed Locations. If I had that.... perfection.
Works great - only changes location. You'll need a VPN to mask your IP. It doesn't change your IP. Options are a bit fiddly, select Options -> default to Fixed Location. Works fine.

Literally took me 1 minute to work, it actually worked! I set my fixed location to Rome and it acts just as good as a VPN that costs like SO MUCH! Literally better than Dashlane VPN.
Absolutely, an Excellent Location or Geolocation App.. Well done the developer.. You can not find to many Geolocation Extensions (i.e.: especially, any extension apps that work). This works well and it works really well on the fixed location.. 11 out of 10...
Works great! All of these people voting 1 star are IMO not using it correctly. Maybe it should use fixed location by default, but it isn't too hard to do it yourself. Only complaint I have is it doesn't work in edge properly yet for YouTube TV.

it works on the sites i've needed it on. it will not appear correct on google maps but sites with videos no problem. just make sure you have it setup right.
Useless. If you can't spoof your IP address which is what sites use, there's no point to this extension.

This is weird. I have two identical MacBook Pros. It works on one but not the other. I am trying to make youtube tv use the correct local area. I set fixed location and tell youtube tv to use it. Works onb one and not the other. No idea why. If I am in youtube tv and click the current area button I can get it to reset but only as long as Chrome is running. Once I exit it forgets.
Needs an update. If enabled on latest version of Chrome (77.0.3865.90) it makes the entire browser very choppy and sluggish.
I works, but only with FIXED LOCATION, in options you need to set default to fixed location for it to work. However the location is very precisely where I put it. All privacy goes away with fixed location which is horrible. My geolocation Chrome is way off. I am in Chicago, but it puts me in New York, Texas, Idaho, very far away. I need it to set to Chicago which fixed location does, but I really need some variability as well. Also this extension slows my browser like CRAZY, but at least it does work. Update: Simply slows every single page way too much. But still does work.
It works fine. A lot of who can't read directions or don't speak English keep complaining it doesn't work. But, it does.

Extension works great for me, just make sure to drag your pin to a location that is not where you're currently located and activate the fixed location. However, I would rate it a 5 star if the search feature was working. Not sure if this is a bug or not. Also it would be worth while to be able to input LAT/LONG.
Works great. My only issue is that when I put it on pause, I have to either close out of chrome and wait for a couple of minutes or keep re-freshing several time (or more) in order for it to forget the fixed location and go back to my real location.

Easy to select fixed geolocation and setup for chrome browser. I was able to stream media only available to that geolocation. Thanks!! Very good job. I hope that the fixed location stays with chrome updates as well.

It is good for security and privacy, it runs in the background without reducing the browser performance. The choice of location is simple, from real to false.
With VPN, HTML5 (I guess) is still getting IP in Bangkok when I live in Bermuda and set to "fixed." NO WORKEE!! PS - Some of these reviews must be fakes - see Aris T.

This add-in is a demo of a research paper findings (google geo indistinguishability). People should use it more as it helps preserve privacy and offers utility too. For people who are using it to pass geo-blocks this will not work, this only alters the location attributes you send to a server, not the IP and other possible location estimators.

Doesn't work at all. I'm outside the US at the moment and can't even shop online with sites that can find my location. Even used fixed location and cleared cookies. Horrible app.
Contrary to everyone else, this does work. Some sites do not, but they would not work with anything because they're written differently and you cannot hide your location unless you use a VPN or something. This works on most sites and tv streaming.

Not perfect and have to mess around with settings to get it working sometimes but works great spoofing live TV streams from other time zones tip: toggling the 'fixed location disables geolocation' switch on and off + clearing out website cookies will often resolve errors when encountered

Works as advertised. I like that there is an option that allows a user to set their location to where ever they choose. Also, I like the idea of having a fixed location instead of just adding noise to the geo. However, I'm not a fan of using the NSA Ops1 building set as the default fixed location. I know it's a cheeky joke but I doubt most people would feel comfortable with their web surfing being associated with NSA. I suspect that lots of people may not realize that location can be changed and will use the default. They probably wouldn't think it as funny. Also, I read through the code used for this tool and it is clear the authors but a lot of thought into the security and privacy of the extension users. I'm very impressed. Great job guys!

Works great! Unfortunately that's caused me many headaches - PayPal for instance suspended my account because they thought someone had hacked it when the location was in a weird place nowhere near me. What a hassle to get it unblocked! Additionally since I started using this app I keep getting blacklisted from my online magazine subscription sites because my computer isn't showing up as me! So yeah, it works great for privacy but although I'm keeping it around for now I've disabled it - apparently there is such a thing as too much privacy!
PERFECT. I think people saying that this extension doesn't work don't realize that their IP address itself gives away your rough location (metro area at least), but your browser provides exact location. That's what this extension blocks.
