Malware extension. It redirects through websites (you'll see the URL change to something like sweetydeals.com quickly before going to the website you wanted to access). Do not use!
Doesnt work
This extension used to work fine but I can't dowload anymore. Always the same message, 'Not available due to vimeo privacy settings. First try to play video.'

Extension does not work, maybe it works for a public video etc (which in case you don't need it lol) but for what people really download this extension for? Nope.
This is really good! I don't understand other people saying about adware, it doesn't do that at all for me. It is a clean extension which quickly downloads the vimeo embedded video on any webpage and will download it for you. It has saved me a lot of time I would waste on screen recording! Very thankful for this extension
This extension enables redirect adware that will randomly take you to weird sites you didn't intend to visit, often times then redirecting you back to the intended site. I have enabled and disabled it many times and can confirm this behavior disappears when this extension is disabled. As a result, I enable it when I need it and keep it disabled when I don't. However, it now appears that the extension does not work, because a website where I was previously able to download videos will no longer allow me. I get a message "Not available due to Vimeo privacy settings. First try to play video." Playing the video does not change anything. And I happen to know the content owner has not changed any website or Vimeo privacy settings.
I just downloaded it, and it's working great for me.
Used to work perfectly, 5 Stars. Recently you can't download Videos anymore. Problem was not solved yet. Once it works again, i will rate 5 Stars.
Same problem here, since a couple of days is not able anymore to download videos with that extension.
used to work perfectly, loved it, 5 stars. but vimeo has updated recently and this extension no longer works. older uploads are sometimes still accessible, but anything within the last few weeks is barred
Hi, This extension used to work flawlessly, I'm giving 5 stars because it worked so good for so long, but it seems Vimeo has made some updates that does not allow us to download videos anymore. Just wanted to make the Dev team aware of the issue. Looking forward to having this thing working again!

A hack was able to use an infected website and this extension to highjack the links on that site and trick the navigation on the browser. I do not have exact information but this should be investigated by the developers. For now I am going to remove and I recommend you to do the same.

Well, it did add download button, but on every video when I clicked download button, it said "no links found".. Thats not helpfull

Contains malware. This extension adds malware that performs a "Man in the Browser" hijack when you go to sites that might have affiliate links, redirecting you almost too quickly to see through their own affiliate links or those of clients who pay them. I only noticed because I very specifically used a friend's Amazon aff link and the tag in the URL was wrong. I then disabled all extensions, and enabled them one at a time, watching for the redirect activity. I've confirmed by disabling/enabling 3 times. The hijack ONLY happens with this extension. it performs the function it says it does, but that's just a front for this fraud scheme. Shame on you. Excellent tool. My only recomendation is that if the download arrow to the upper right side of the video doesn't show a download option, you should go to the installed extensions menu in chrome and download from there. That way works 100% of the times.

It is not functioning. I read the reviews and installed it any ways. The developer says they shall solve the problems, perhaps they shall. Until then, my review stays at 1 Star.
Your Video Downloader For Vimeo Chrome Extension has worked great for me. I was able to download over 30 videos today without any problems. The only issue I have is that only the 360p version was available to download. Is there a way to download Vimeo videos with your extension at higher resolutions? Thanks.

Reportedly a great extension. Maybe so, but it doesn't work now. Every video says Blocked by Vimeo. Not one single download successfully completed. Disappointed.
It's very good and makes downloading very easy, but it doesn't work with every video - in some videos it shows the message "no links found". Hope you correct it soon.

Worked very well until 2 days ago. Not working anymore. But giving this a 5 star rating, as it is a wonderful extension, and has helped me a lot! Hope you can get this back to working soon. My issue is, the download button appears, but after that I see a message "No links found". Not sure if this is something the website has changed at their end.

i use this extension for downloading video from fantrie, its works like a charm... the only problem is i cant download video with higher than 720p even if the source support 1080p or higher, pls help

Let me be clear first--the plugin works perfectly. The reason I am going to rate this 2 stars is because it "apparently" comes bundled with Adware! I have this running on Chrome on a Mac (macOS Monterey). Malwarebytes picked this up → https://tppr.me/ZmNcX Maybe Google should pick this up and investigate? Is this violation of some policy?

Doesn't work on embedded (protected/paid) content. It likely works for simple vimeo videos where you can simply view the video on the vimeo website or see a .mp4 link in the code, but not for the content I'm trying to grab. The play and download buttons show ERROR after clicking on of them. Have emailed s/w dev to see if they can modify to support this content.

The December '21 release wouldn't allow for me to download vimeo videos from a vimeo playlist. I wrote the author and promptly revised the code to incorporate this ability, then released it to chrome store. What a boss! It now does just what I need it to - amazing!
