Works great. View source button works fine for me in Google Chrome.
THE WORST APP EVER STILL HAVE TO USE IT FOR PROGESTS
Generally great tool. Would be great to have default style for dark mode and auto switching.
awsome
A perfect extension for day-to-day life. I forgot that I have installed it. Using it for a year now. Thank you!
Nice & Excellent
very useful tool
Removes quotes, copy-pasting results in invalid json. I didn't find an option to keep quotes
Added extension with a click. Tried it on new openAlex interface with JSON response (e.g. https://api.openalex.org/authors/https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6187-6610 ) and it worked fine! My system has Chrome Version 97.0.4692.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I liked and used this extension for a while, but some things annoyed me: - The rendered JSON cannot by copied as raw JSON text. It strips off all of the quotes, meaning you have to flip back to RAW if you want to copy valid JSON. - The button to switch to raw text doesn't work for me. I had to disable the extension entirely to see the underlying raw JSON. Until the above issues are addressed, this plugin is fine for simply viewing JSON, but that's where its usefulness ends. However, since it doesn't allow copying valid JSON or flipping back to the raw text, it often creates problems when switching over to heavier tools such as a text editor. I'll be switching to and trying out the JSON Viewer extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/json-viewer/gbmdgpbipfallnflgajpaliibnhdgobh) instead, which doesn't suffer from the above issues, and still has features like syntax highlighting and collapse/expand.
icon plus or minus is too small
It works perfect for my use case, the only downside is view source which doesn't work. But I can open the page in a different tab to work around it. That for me is the only downside. Perhaps there should be way to select stuff and be able to copy the raw source, that would be super helpful.
It is pretty cool, but less than functional if you need the original json text for something else. The glaring issue I have is that you can't turn it off and it's not proper json after it runs. There are three options for 'on'. That's 1. on for all sites. 2. on for this site. 3. on when you click the extension. There is no 'off when you click the extension' or toggle between on and off. Brilliant idea, but it looks like they didn't think people that are looking at a json response message (that's everyone that would understand this) might actually want to use that json object somewhere else after they use this to peek at it. This would be awesome and a huge time saver if it was setup to peek at the pretty json version and jump back to the proper one easily. If you can't turn it off and you have to muck around to get the json after it is on it's easier to just copy/paste it into a text file to run it through jq, jp, or a million other methods that will do what this does and not lose the original json in the process. It may be truly awesome for someone that is looking at json response messages, but has no intention of doing anything with those responses.
Works almost perfectly. The "View Original" needs to be copied and pasted into a new tab, just clicking it doesn't actually do anything. And the fact that the tree view doesn't have quotes means it's hard to copy directly from the formatted data; I need to click "View Original" which requires a lot of extra clicks. It's still very useful, but it could be better. Might move on to a better, more recently-updated tool.
It's good enough.
this is a bug: original data: { ......, "item_id":206960017876850643, .... } but the formatted data is : { ......, "item_id":206960017876850660, .... }
Best
Saved my eyes.. Thanks!
Otherwise ok, but "view source" doesn't work, any way to fix it or any work-around?
Works great
I love this extension, it shows the response json in proper format, I would love to see it getting enhanced and have more options after parsing data
Well its fine and it is going well THANKS...
Just what I needed to show off some application responses during a live demo.
just saw this, most useful one, thanks
good
How do I use it??????
No Description on how to use?
Amazing App
Not working... Only plain text appears
Fantastic extension for easily viewing JSON
not working
Very nice extension. One recommendation, when clicking on a key, to highlight all matching keys with their values.
I have no idea how to use this - where do I see the JSON? Is this something that shows up in devtools? I feel like an idiot, but I see no instructions anywhere, and the icon in the tools bar doesn't do antyhing. I'll be happy to re-rate this once I know how to use it. I'd suggest adding instructions or a brief description, anything on how to use/view this extension.
This extension makes my day, nearly every day. I cannot imagine how I would develop without it or something similar. LOVE how it makes text links clickable.
Smooth and useful
Perfect. Thanks for this!
Thanks a lot
Simple pero muy útil.
Love it. Quickly parsesraw JSON strings to pretty JSON. Keys are collapsible now, so that takes away scrolling down for big JSONs
it is not working...
good one. does what it says
Really nice JSON formatting
it's goods~!
(not hating but do not recommmend usage) Not being maintained for years. Seemed to work (for me) at first sight for quick previews, but recently was leading to failures. Does not deal with nested quoted quotes in links and copying JSOn from the preview results in faulty data. see e.g. https://github.com/gildas-lormeau/JSONView-for-Chrome/issues/28 and more flaws...
Good extension, thanks
Very Good And Work Properly Thanx..
Good Extension. But sometimes make me really confusing. While I used Laravel Framework with SortBy function, the results not ordering it. Overall, good extension...
Super useful. Not sure how I survived without it before.
it´s great!
Still works great - thank you gildas!
this made me a lot of trouble, as it seems to hide all `\n` linebreaks, but doesnt show linebreaks either. shouldn't have wasted the amount of time on this i did, lol
It covers everything I need to read JSON docs: coloring the code, possibility of navigating through the nodes, opening and closing them, working with paths and values...
Doesn't work at all, and there's no explanation on how to use.
Very useful. The only thing I miss is to see the item counts on arrays when collapsed
Does it not work with local files? i.e: file://
Looks very pretty, but rounded large integers. Unacceptable!
Works very well
seems good but the 'view source' button doesn't appear to work
This application is very helpful. Thanks.
this application is very helpful
Works well to visualise unformatted JSON, separating it properly into groupings. Only 4 star because there's no collapse all and expand recursively options.
why "key":"value" not format key:"value"
nice
Greate Support
I've had no trouble with it this far.
No idea how to get it to work
Thank you gildas :)
help me to develop apps. Cool
nice
very good.
I think its a very good extension and its very useful.
Really good app to understand complex structure of JSON from web source pages and apis
The formatting option works pretty well, but the "view source" option doesn't work at all.
Simple easy light
"View Source" is broken (so cannot copy the json object elsewhere); no configuration available. I found https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/json-viewer/gbmdgpbipfallnflgajpaliibnhdgobh which is 10x better (and more recently maintained). Thanks for providing this anyway!
Works fine for me
works on normal json but when json contains malformed html it gets confused and parse the html.
I would like to be able to disable it at specific times. but I can't seem to do this
not a good option exactly on posting data through forms. it refreshed page and always say nothing posted.
helpfull
Doesn't seem to work at all. Links to JSON docs are just being downloaded, not displayed. Some web hints to use view-source: looked promising, but also didn't work. Maybe I'm doing using it incorrectly, but in that case how about some getting started documentation to lead me through it?
good extension for help us to showing json view
Strips out quotes from valid JSON to display invalid JSON so you can't copy and paste the results. Source and Options buttons don't work. Try the far superior "JSON Formatter" instead.
View Source link wouldn't work so I couldn't view the original/raw text, and the "Pretty" view stripped all the quotes from the property names making it utterly useless if I needed to copy the blob elsewhere.
Bring it to Opera too. Please.
Just loved it
always been great
It is so Great!
Decent plugin, but the View Source link doesn't work. In the console I get "Not allowed to load local resource: view-source" as Chrome blocks local file access. I'd use DOM manipulation to achieve this instead.
Beautiful
Fantastic. Many thanks to the developer.
Way better than not having it!
Good!
Great
Used for years without any problem. Now its serving me adware. Purge and scan friends...
Wont do anything
it's ok
great app!
Awesome extension man. Thanks a lot.
happily using it
I'm gonna ask my team members to install it :)
works as advertised
