Can't get past the indexing phase, anyone else have this issue and has resolved it?
No issues (so far)!
It will work to get your photos, but the metadata solution doesn't work and the dev doesn't appear to be actively responding to qs.
Worked perfectly and very much appreciated the guide to modify the exif data for the photos as well -- thank you!
Tried this multiple times and it did not work. I was on the right "photos of" URL and scrolled to the bottom (not a quick task) multiple times and it never moved past "indexing." Also, despite the prompt that you can nvigate away, clicking on anything would revert the extension back to the original "Navigate to your tagged photos page and hit the button below. Export" text. Maddening!
Worked perfectly! Thank you for the instructions to save the metadata as well! Lifesaver!
It works. Fast and simple. Thanks! (Follow the instructions to add EXIF data to your photos, too.)
Thank you so much. Saved me a tonne of time and effort.
It worked for me
This really works. I was like 90% sure it would be another dud but I now have all my tagged photos with the metadata attached. THANK YOU.
Downloaded everything great! Very handy since Facebook's export tool doesn't do Tagged Photos/Photos of you. I wish, though, that the end result included photos with original dates in the metadata so I could upload it cleanly to Google Photos.
Does what it says, perfect!
Worked great
Doesn't work
extension used to work but not working anymore. it just hangs on the "Downloading" screen with no progress
This worked great! I downloaded over 3200 photos from Facebook and I checked to see if it included the photos I was tagged in and it does. Great tool, thank you!
Does what it says!
At first the extension didn't work on the Brave browser, which is also chromium-based. What I (think I) did to correct this was instead of pre-loading all the pictures before running the tool (scrolling to the bottom so that all images loaded), I ran the extension and then started scrolling to the bottom of the tagged photos page. And the fact that I can add metadata after they all download made the tool even better. Thank you!
Really good, works really easily and allows a quick way to save all your old FB photos
Looking for some help here. It looks like it's a brilliant extension, I just can't seem to get it to work. I keep getting the following error: Couldn't find an open Facebook Photos tab. Please navigate to your Facebook Photos page. My URL is: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=#######&sk=photos_of Any ideas?
It worked perfectly, thanks :)
I don't want to give this a bad review as it is clear others have had this work well for them but when I use this extension it gets stuck in the download step. Once at 1354/1522 and again at 738. I really want to give it 5 stars but it doesn't seem to work for me. Any advice would be helpful!
After looking for hours, this extension helped me download all my photos within minutes!
Worked really well, thanks TJCX for saving me a ton of time. :) To support the developer that saved us all time, please buy him a coffee here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/tjcx.
Anyone have this error? Error: Couldn't find an open Facebook Photos tab. Please navigate to your Facebook Photos page. I just downloaded, ensured the link ended in =photos_of and even tried a separate window. Thoughts on how to pull all tagged photos from FB?
Works great. Requested a change to include Date/Time and was added same day. Ran a small script to merge date/time to EXIF and voila! Find a guide on my blog post for date/time instructions.
Still working in 2022! Legend!
Finally. Something that works. Definitely be sure to click "photos of me" before running the indexing. Now I can finally untag all and say goodbye to facebook officially. I'd gladly donate if this is an option.
IT WORKED! Thank you so much! I can finally delete Facebook!
Still does not work, Removed and reinstalled but indexing never finishes on a small set of tagged images.
Works like a charm. As other commenters said, you need to actually click on the tab "Photos of you" or whomever before running the extension. Also when you "Save As" the webpage change the file type to complete webpage and it'll work. Thanks for an awesome app!
Gets the job done. Had a hard time getting it to work. Does not store any metadata information
I've been waiting for something like this for years! Huge thank you to the developers!
Fantastic BUT COULD DO ONE THING BETTER! It worked as expected, although the saving instructions are out of date for Chrome (need to Right-Click the page, "Save As...", then change the save type as "Web Page Complete") ONE HUGE IMPROVEMENT: I want to upload these to Google Photos, which will look at the metadata to mark the date the picture was taken. If I drag 1000+ of these into Google Photos, they will ALL show up as "uploaded on this day." Ideally, the extension knows what day the photo was uploaded (I think the URL of the photo has a timestamp) - if it could somehow update the metadata / exif so that the photo is tagged appropriately, that would be awesome! In the meantime, I'll try to manually write a PowerShell script to do it.
Worked perfectly! thank you!
Worked fast and well!
Worked great! See other's comments for instructions.
Worked perfectly! 1. install plugin 2. go to facebook > photos > photos of you (you may need to click on "Photos of You" to ensure the URL is facebook.com/yourname/photos_of) 3. scroll all the way down to the bottom, to load your photos 4. click the "tagged photo exporter" extension button in your browser 5. wait till it searches and then indexes the photos 6. it creates a html page that auto opens, right click > save as in the white space and save the html file somewhere 7. browse to where you saved it and all the photos will be in the folder
Only reason for not 5 stars is the common comment "stuck on indexing" -- you NEED to actually click on the part where it says "Pictures of me" in your pictures page, even if it's already highlighted and looks selected -- then it works. As another commenter said, check the URL: it should have "_of" at the end of it, not just "...<your_name>/photos". It would be nice if there was some instruction the app, or a message in the box, that showed if it wasn't quite in the right place to work.
Got stuck on 'indexing'. At one point it said 'indexing 16 photos' but then nothing happened.
This extension is great. If you get stuck on 'Indexing,' it might be that you are just in your general 'Photos' area. You need to actually click into 'Photos of <person>' in order for it to work, if you are trying to get tagged photos. The URL should say "https://www.facebook.com/<person>/photos_of." The "_of" part is important.
Worked great, was easily able to download and backup all my tagged photos. The image quality of them is pretty poor but that's completely due to facebook and nothing to do with this app. This seemed to be the absolutely only way to back everything up, all other options I looked into failed. I had 680 photos and it took roughly 15 minutes to complete so not that bad. As another user stated, open it in its own window and in the download select "Webpage, complete" and you should be set.
stuck on "indexing" doesn't work
All what i needed.
Tip #1: Do this on a separate window (not tab). Tip #2: After you begin to export if it's stuck on "Indexing", begin to manually scroll down yourself and it should begin to start "Analyzing".
Worked quickly and simply; I had 500+ photos saved within five minutes. Perfect app!
Worked great! Many websites recommended the DownAlbum Chrome extension, but I couldn't get it to work at all. This Tagged Photo Exporter worked perfectly and was really easy to use. It seems to work on any Facebook photos page, including the page of photos I'm tagged in, or even the page of photos a friend is tagged in (if you want to download all photos of that friend that are visible to you, regardless of who posted the pictures). I'm using Chrome on Linux.
Works great!
Thank you for this! Because of this I was able to download all the pictures of dead friend that are tagged and not in an album, because I need them for a video tribute dedicated for him.
This did exactly what I was hoping for. After adding the extension you simply go to the page where you see your tagged photos, follow the couple step instructions, and all the photos are downloaded to your desktop. Thank you for this :)
Does exactly what it says on the tin, downloads all the photos from Facebooks Phots of you section. Rather than going through and manually downloading one at a time, this extension does that for you. Loads another page with instructions on saving the webpage. And then that has an attached album with all your photos. Much needed bonus that it also downloads them at the original resolution rather than just a thumbnail
Finally able to delete my Facebook for good! Thank you so much.
This extension helped me quit Facebook!! I was holding on to my account just so I could have all my tagged photos as memories. I found this extension and it was super easy to use, and downloaded all my photos within minutes.
