Looks terrible, there's no borders on the bottom and top so it just gets cut off, and there's a weird grey line on the left side of it. Using Brave.

I didn't get any arrows from this...just a different scroll bar. Misleading.

Great - I've got my scroll arrows back in YouTube, where I missed them most! However, it _doesn't_ work on https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/win7-scrollbars/cifcnoebhbpdndjendfkpehpfbglgfkc/related - i. e. its own page, such as the one you're reading right now!

They take away functionality and call it progress. Thank GOD for people like the author of this extension. They are the real heros.

Not updated for 8yrs... but it still works perfectly. Such a simple extension but a real visual improvement.

On Win10 with Google Chrome 99.0.4801.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit), the thumb (slider that shows current position) is missing the top and bottom bitmaps. This makes it look like somebody chopped the top and bottom of the slider off.

I know this thread is old, but---My problem started while on You Tube, where I spend a lot of time. The arrow keys disappeared on the right side, which enable me to easily move up and down. I had installed some extensions to try to revert back to classic Facebook and I believe that was when the scroll arrow keys disappeared for me AND was unable to revert back to original FB. After spending hours trying to get MY arrows back on the right side, all I had to do was uninstall the FB extensions. Hope this saves someone all the time spent getting the arrow buttons back! Remember---uninstall any new extensions, one at a time, to help solve your arrow problems. I can't be the only frustrated person who had to solve this problem on their own. Good luck!

Thank You so much, Those Stupid plain rectangle scrollbars have been in Chrome for several years now & I have hated them all along. BTW this extension also works perfectly in Edge Chromium.

Some websites are missing the bottom scrollbar. How do we get the bottom scrollbar to show up on ALL sites?

This is a good extension. I really liked it. But I noticed that some of the scrollbar is cut off. Can you fix that? Or is it just me and Chrome OS?

Great to have the arrow buttons back! It looks like Chrome has now replaced them too, but the "Win7 Scrollbars" appearance is still nicer.

I love the look and the arrows. However I had a lot of problems with pictures especially on ebay and craigslist not loading. I tried everything I could think of to fix. Then I turned this extension off and bingo my pictures would load. Needs to be fixed to be compatible with pictures such as ebay etc. and Amazon etc. Thanks I wish it worked.

Excellent! I'm glad someone hears the cries of the minorities that Google ignores. Google always removes features without reason and doesn't listen to the end users! Not having scrollbars on a web browser is like not having a rear view mirror in your car. How irritating.

It fixes Google's mistake of screwing up the scrollbars. They restored the arrows, but the flat look of scrollbars makes them hard to see and use. The only problem is that sometimes the scrollbars do not show at all. Like in gitlab software (www.gitlab.com, www.dokuwiki.org). I would prefer the whole scroll bar to have volume (non-flat look), not only the thumbs, but the name is "win 7 scrollbars". Now someone has to fix what Microsoft screwed up and make Win XP scrollbars...

Thanks! I'm glad to have the arrow scroll buttons back and a slightly wider scroll bar. But I wish the scroll bar were even a bit wider than it is.

Didn't work! Started with only vertical scrollbar before install. After install checked both boxes under the extension, then closed browser and reopened it. Still no bottom horizontal scrollbar. I need a scrollbar when page size is deduced so I can scroll left and right. I don't have that option without a horizontal scrollbar.

(Mac user) Works with some pages sorta - no arrow buttons, but I do get a persistent scrollbar which is my main desire. But it doesn't work on all pages, and consistency is important.

Seriously, taking away the scroll bar arrows?! Totally ridiculous!

Paul B. May 16th, 2015

Very good, but what would really make it great would be the ability to regulate the scrollbar width. Many with weak vision need the easier access of wider scrollbars. Google's push to minimize the scrollbar is unfathomable.

When I think about Chrome changing the scroll bar I think about the adage, if it's not broken don't fix it. But Chrome apparently said, If it's broken, if it's not broken, we'll fix it anyway. You know technology must be for everyone, of all ages and all socioeconomic backgrounds. It should always be user friendly. I love the scroll bar arrows. I need the scroll bar arrows. And Window 7 shouldn't have to find ways for users to access their scrollbar anywhere on the Net. Chrome should just eat their dish of humble pie--we all make mistakes--and scrap their changes. Rock on Win7!

Awesome. When users complained about the new scrollbars Google developers were making statements about how the change was embedded so deeply into Chrome that it was too hard to make native scrollbars an option. Yet here is a simple extension...

Robert Walker January 17th, 2014

Note: Chrome has seen the error of their ways, and has updated scrollbars to implement much of the behavior that was previously removed, so I no longer use this extension. That said, it was good for when it was needed. My previous review is below: I really appreciate this extension. It does a good job of trying to undo the damage from Google's ill-considered scrollbar change. That said, there are some caveats to be aware of: - It doesn't (and probably can't) work on lists. (Unfortunate, as Google botched those even worse; you can't grab the thumb to scroll the list and must use the scroll wheel.) - It doesn't replicate the native context menu that appears when you right-click the scroll bar. - It doesn't replicate the native "hotspot" behavior, where dragging the thumb then moving the mouse away from the scrollbar causes it to snap back to its original position. - Due to restrictions by Chrome, it doesn't work for the chrome: protocol. - It will work for the file: protocol and incognito mode, but you must manually enable the option to do so. - There are some rendering problems on certain Google sites, such as GMail.

Joel Haus March 24th, 2014

It definitely makes the scroll bar more visible and I appreciate that. I don't know if its possible in css, but another thing I missed when Chrome messed up the new scroll bars was the ability to "undo" the scroll by moving your mouse a few hundred pixels to the left. I used to do that multiple times a day and now I get unhappy every time it fails.

Thank god for this extension. I've been looking at IE, Firefox and Opera the past few weeks, 100% because of Chrome's very thin scrollbars with no arrows. Some of us still use a mouse and the new scrollbars are impossible to use. This extension fixes everything that I've been disliking lately about Chrome.

God bless you, sir. Whoever came up with the idea to make the scroll bars practically invisible should be tied to the hood of my truck and forced to endure an 11-hour driving shift. After they got through picking bugs out of their teeth, maybe they'd think twice about "improvements".

After only using Chrome for 20mins on my notebook, the lack of scroll bar arrows started to become a real pain. So simple, but makes a world of difference to the browsers usability. This is a brilliant quick fix. Thank you! :)

THANK YOU! The dev team at Google who handles Chrome should hire Five4. Apparently, they have a bunch of high school kids working on that team (i.e., let's make Chrome "cool" looking in spite of its usability). My Mother is 73 years old now ... Google really messed her up with the stupid "pretty" thin scrollbars ... until this extension put her back in charge.

Fixes the problem with page scrollbar. Thanks. Does not fix problem with 'drop down list' scroll bars. I see other people have noticed this as well. Chrome now uses 'whatever the f*** those things are called' and they just plain don't work on windows. at all. Please add windows scrollbars to other browser elements that need them (e.g. drop down lists) if possible.

I didn't miss the arrows so much, as was annoyed by the horribly low contrast of Chrome's new scrollbars, especially on a light grey background. Now I can once again see at a single glance where I am in the document.

Why does Google have to ruin EVERYTHING? First they try and shove Google+ down everyone's throats, and now I can't even use the regular scroll bar on my browser? A function that I've been using for over 10 years and had absolutely no issue with it? What, did they find the one thing that was working correctly and say "we NEED to ruin this too." I'm tempted to just go back to firefox. Thanks for the app, but this doesn't work with drop down lists like I was hoping it would.
