It's just what I wanted. The only problem is that it sometimes cuts out the bottom or top of the video/chat box.

It works with Chat Replay (Twitch stream chat replay extension, e.g. on Jerma985's streams) which is great.
Awesome extension, but the "show stream info on hover" feature has been broken recently Regardless of its setting, nothing shows up on hover - only the built-in picture-in-picture icon shows up now edit: as of version 3.9.3, this bug has been fixed - thanks!
It Brilliant but would you be able to ADD Chat On/Off as I liked Theater Mode with Chat Off like Twitch but of course Twitch do Open/Close Chat which is fine too if can for YouTube Theater Mode Open/Close
basically nessicary extension but i can't watch youtube vods on normal theater mode idk why or if it's other extensions clashing but yeah pls fix unless that's just me
This needs to be implemented by default if YouTube wants to compete with Twitch livestreaming.

I think at this point I've tried like 10 "theatre mode" plugins and they're all terrible or have annoying bugs. Finally found this, it is by far the best one that actually gives you the twitch like theatre mode on youtube + more customizability,
Must have if you're used to twitch layout
Worked really good until today, when I entered theater Mode it put a black line across the screen. Cleared my cache and restarted PC with no luck.

Wow, how is this not more popular? This extension is PERFECT. It has everything I want. Option to disable it and use youtube live like normal? Check. Option to move the chat from the left and right side? Check. Still able to see viewer counts and subscribe to a channel? Check. Leaves normal youtube videos as is? Check. Massive kudos to the developer this is a fantastic extension with a TON of options.

make the names of the people in chat random colours just like twitch and no dark colours because its hard to see, only bright colours just like twitch please right now

as of this date, it's a fantastic extension that solves a number of the flaws in youtube streaming, even adding features rarely seen if at all such as with chat over stream, resizing of the chat box, and of course the flipping of chat to the left. really, recommended...until it inevitably breaks. if that happens, please know that - should the author not keep up with maintenance - anyone looking for work worth doing: look no further.
WHY IS THIS NOT A DEFAULT PART OF YOUTUBE LIVE. WHY?? Now i can watch the doc the way god intended.
is it possible to add an option to auto trigger theatre mode on livestream pages? other than that this extension is sick

Awesome extension, I don't know why Youtube hasn't implemented this yet. One bug I notice is that when I minimize my browser and come back to enter words in the chat, it often enters random words, the work around is to relaod the stream. Can you look into this and fix this please?
Wow...this is so much better than the previous plugin I am using...also that chat overlay over video is also a lot more better than one of the plugins I am also using....
I've been looking for this extension for a long time and I finally found it! Now I can see chat in full screen just like Twitch!

Seems to be a better version of the Twitch Theatre Mode for Youtube extension. More features including ability to change the chat width, and less bugs.
I love the new feature that can toggle the chat to be hidden/showen:D
