Not working well

Tried it on many websites. It didn't work on any of them. Switched to Wappalyzer.

Poor results, and doesn't work well.

It's too slow, there are lots of bad reviews. seems developers don't have time to fix it.

took me awhile to find out which extension caused this error in my console Error handling response: TypeError: self.processResponse is not a function at chrome-extension://cmkdbmfndkfgebldhnkbfhlneefdaaip/js/notification.js:154:10 finally found it. will remove review once u fix this. It spams this error by virtue of being enabled and not even being used.

The extension stops working if you set its access to "on click" only... Great. And even when I gave permanent access it had trouble analyzing some websites.

Giving 3 (halfway) because it only seems to be able to produce results about half the time.

This used to work perfect, but it no longer works. Previously-ran Whatruns show up, but it doesn't work for sites that haven't had WhatRuns ran on.

It doesnt work. I check this website ( https://codemanbd.com/ ) in wappalyzer extension , wordpressthemedetector.com, isitwp. The result are same but whatsrun shown different. It's shown wrong I hope it will fix soon.

It provides inaccurate information. There are several websites that I know are built with SquareSpace; however, WhatRuns is showing they are WordPress sites.

WOW. I use Wappalyzer a LOT and now I have another great extension I can use to see what tech websites are using. I run a web design company and do a lot of hosting so this makes it easy to qualify a customer quickly. Please keep this extension going!

I have checked some websites with it. Since I know what runs them (I made some of them), it doesn't show the right results. I hope in the future that will be better.

Tried it on a website that I knew was run by Wix, and it was always on a spinner loading symbol.

Constantly under server maintence..

Useless!

This extension does NOT detect most websites correctly, reporting my own as having Bootstrap, Google Tag Manager, and even jQuery, which it has none of these. So despite the claims on their website, it can't detect the latest tech stack.

There seems to be some problem after 01-Jan-2022. The extension is not working anymore. Uninstalling it now.

I think it's not working anymore, I just downloaded it and tried, but it's keep loading nothing is showing up....

not works anymore, removed it and use back Wappalyzer; Wappalyzer works fine for me.

I guess it doesn´t work any more at all. I tried it with 2 different websites, one that was relaunched in March 2020 from another CMS to wordpress and one that has been set up entirely new in summer of 2020. With the first website it shows NOW the data from before relaunch and with the newly setup website it doesn´t show anything else than the spinner. With other sites that already have been longer online it shows also some data, I guess it is also old cached data. What runs what runs?-> Old data. I just wonder if this is so, why they still keep it online. I cannot see any good and legit reason. My recommendation: delete the extension immediately.

It used to work all the time, but now it is just showing the spinner and not coming up with anything for many websites. It is hit or miss.

It's amazing that I can get a synopsis of any site I want without any hassle. Great extension.

Honestly, its ok. While it provides good info on what runs a website, it is lacking in some of it. For example it wont detect certain js frameworks if they aren't very popular. You are better off just looking at sources in the dev tools.

Loved using it until it stopped working, maybe a recent update. Currently using other alternatives while we wait for it be fixed. :)

Great for wordpress sites. I use it together with SimilarTech Prospecting.

Used to be great, not sure if they've taken the service down or what's going on, but the extension never loads details now in the last several weeks (possibly months). Time to remove.

I caught it using 100% CPU

it loads forever.. even if it does, only a few technologies are detected so it's not useful at all.

It just keep loading and never show results.

This plug in a network bandwidth vampire. I've seen my bandwidth throughput go from 50mbps to 8 kilobytes per second. This plugin should not be on the store because it's really malware or a trojan or rootkit. This is not legit software.

Used to love using this plugin to aid me in doing website audits for clients before they allowed me access to the backend, but now it no longer appears to be working at all... Very disappointing.

Utter rubbish. I switched from one platform to another on our site about 5 months ago. It is still listing the old sites technology. I have a new support site and the best it can do is tell me the fonts used. Even the most basic tools can tell you so much more and work it out in near-real time. Ignore this piece of junk and try other tools such as https://builtwith.com/ that give you real data.

Works maybe 10% of the time. Otherwise it gives either a "Server Upgrade" error or blank screen. Shame.

This extension gives an awesome insight into how many third party javascript code is launched on every web page. When using the ScriptSafe extension, then you can easier decide wether to allow scripts from third party or not. This extension helps provides more information about this party scripts and based on that you can make a decision in ScriptSafe extension.

Not 100% reliable due to ongoing server maintenance making thee extension completely useless. However, when the extension is working it works perfectly and is a great addition to any browser who deals with dev work - but I cannot fully recommend it.

Great extension, but consuming 100% CPU from time to time so have to disable it and use it when i need it

I tested this extension on my own website. It then listed Drupal 7 as the CMS used when in reality it is a WordPress site. Either the extension is buggy or just inaccurate. It's a shame that it's not working well, I rarely give negative feedback when it comes to extensions but this is a blatant oversight which can mislead future Developers

plugin ocasionally eats 1 core to 100% and this is very frustating..

Can't work in "Site access: on click" mode.

it's a good one, I have been using it, it helps me to peek on site's theme, plugins and server info that are being used, I wish it was more accurate at times and provided granular info, thank you!

Tested on a site I know the details. Reports WordPress version 4.9.10 should be 5.2.2 Reports PHP 7.1.30 should be 7.2.20 Correctly identified 7 of 14 active plugins and nginx as the webserver. I'm looking for something to correctly identify WordPress & PHP versions so won't be using this.

First of all this extension will show going under server maintenance 24/7 if you change the permissions to only allow access to sites "on-click" in chrome extension's permissions built into the browser. It can also always read your browser history regardless of your permissions which may be a technicality but I'm not sure on that one. Further I'd be very skeptical of something like this because it isn't selling anything or making any money in any conventional form. They could be secretly mining or snooping on your data, who knows.

when i compared this to waplyzer i realized that it has more option it even shows what fonts are using in web page!!

Doesnt ahve accurate data on websites. They must have some central db that returns the data rather than checking the site in place like wappalyzer. good idea but if not up to date then not really useable.

well it's first time i had ever rate extension or to be clear it's only chromium ext beside color picker that i have and find it usefull and actually use it. And i really don't fav Extensions at all. So ...no complain, just wanted to give you 5 star rating and really awsome job you're doing.

Each time I've tried to use it I get a message that "I'm addicted" to WhatRuns but there is server maintenance going on. There is nothing unusual about my system or software - I guess this extension is just broken.

Amazing, but I can't follow anymore websites, why is that? I followed 10 and anything from there on everytime i click follow it wont work. I tried everything, uninstalling and re-installing quitting the browser nothing works. Please fix this asap!! I'm on Chrome.

absolutely loved it but it doesnt show info for some websites maybe because its hidden by the host. Overall a must have extension for devs.

Almost accurate most of the times, but it doesn't work on Facebook for some obscure reason.
