This is a lifesaver! It's a game changer to be able to mute/unmute yourself from any Chrome tab or window or even application. To set keyboard shortcuts, make sure you read the instructions (right click the icon > manage extensions > click the three lines icon on the top left corner > keyboard shortcuts). Thanks for making this extension!
Is this extension working (as of Jan 3 2022)? I'm able to install, set the keyboard shortcuts as described, but then when it is muted, it un-mutes automatically once a sound is detected by the microphone. Chrome version: Version 96.0.4664.110 (Official Build) (64-bit) Locale: chrome://settings/languages is showing English
Just tried a handful of other extensions claiming to do the same thing and this was the only one that worked, well done! ??????
Just wanted to add that this extension works exactly as stated with latest Chrome (at time of writing) [89.0.4389.90]. No un-required bells and whistles - one of those "essential apps" for me.
This does not work at all. A complete waste of time and space. The button says its muted but I can still all the tabs at the same time.
Sadly does not work. As others have said the indication of the extension icon is not the same as what is in the meeting. (it does not mute the meeting, but it looks like it does). Really want this to work though, because of the global keyboard shortcut option! Am using google chrome version 87.0.4280.88
This works pretty well. A nice imporovement would be to show some kind of popup when you're muting or unmuting from a global setting. It's hard to notice the icon if you're in another application.
Works great. Only problem is I have to use the button while the call is focused the first time so that the extension "connects" to the call. Afterwards it works well.

Not working!
When I click the icon it shows muted, but then can somebody tell me why does it automatically unmute me, when I start speaking? Is that a bug or on purpose?
Just installed it for Chrome on Mac OS and works like a charm! Make sure to restart Chrome though ;) Also shortcut definition is a bit hidden but manageable.
