Attention dev: Normally, 5 stars for this simple but well done extension. I've used it for years in many diff browsers. However, of late since trying out Sidekick browser (which may be irrelevant) and my starting to use my webmail (which may be relevant), if Dark Mode extension is active, my webmail cannot connect to the mail server when sending. Only sending. Through an exhaustive and repeated process, I finally determined that my email sending only had a problem (reported "Connection Error: failed to connect to server") when Dark Mode was activated (not darkening, just simply activating the extension). I hope dev can examine this. I'll have to find another dark mode extension in the meantime. Bummer, because I know that Dark Mode does the best job of any others.

this a good extension it cool i can put websites in dark mode, but once it stopped working on amazon.ca after I right clicked on exclude from dark mode to view something i couldn't see in dark mode, then I couldn't get amazon.ca to go back into dark mode, so I had to uninstall the extension and reinstall it to fix it, I also wish it worked on the chrome web store, the chrome web store is too bright in light mode

its good, but it dosen't work on pinterest, for whatever reason it completly covers all the images in black, Other than that tho, it does work pretty well.

Didnt think it worked at first, just make sure to show extension toggle to pin it if you have a bunch of extensions.

There are some elements that I want to make dark, but I don't know how to change it and the YouTube video made me mess everything up to the point where I had to uninstall and then reinstall the extension. And the worst part is that I have no idea how to contact the developer for help. Overall pretty cool extension and appreciate how easy it is to exclude a website from the dark mode (if I already have a dark mode enabled like Reddit and YouTube). Just wish it were easier to change certain elements of a website.

The toggle is global, and it screws with the colors of websites that are already dark so it requires constant switching. Not very useful.

Very customizable! It comes great out of the box, but with some tweaks I was able to make it exactly how I want. You just need some minimal web design experience to be able to adjust parameters.

It worked but it blocked many sites as well as the web store. Also it just inverts colors, not dark mode. Hope this helps.

This extension breaks many sites, e. g. in Roundcube, you can't send emails. Also, the add to whitelist button doesn't work, you have to add the sites manually.

Doesn't darken half of the content on most webpages. Half of the text is unreadable (changed to the same color as the background). It's not remotely user-friendly. I'm kind of shocked that Google put this as the top result for a search on 'Dark Mode' extensions. This extension sucks and cannot possibly be the best option.

my web browser is permanently stuck on dark mode. Even when I disable it. Remove it, reboot. All the things. This is brutal. I don't like dark mode but needed it for one very specific reason and now I can't undo it. What the heck!?

This extension messed up Google Compute Engine Console in a way that no info is shown in the tables any longer and the site is entirely unusable. Adding the GCE domain to the exclusion list in the extension settings did not fix it even after restart etc. Apparently the extension does not fully comply with this setting and still modifies css even for excluded sites. Only way to fix is using restrictions outside of the extensions settings, i.e. to either modify permission settings for the extension to require explicit site permissions or completely disable/uninstall. I finally did the latter. Non working exclusion list is a major flaw making this extension useless.

it kinda works but not really. it looks nice and has a bunch of color themes to choose from, but it blacks out certain parts of some websites/pages. looks good but ruins functionality for some websites

Good idea, but terrible implementation. When this extension is installed and dark mode is not even enabled (so extension is not being actively used), the extension slows down the browser significantly! Try closing a tab and you'll notice 0.5s-1s delay between when you press the close tab and when the tab actually closes. This is even when the dark mode from the extension is not activated, just when extension is installed!

Works great in Chrome and Brave (so far at least). Really like the ability to toggle on/off.

DO NOT INSTALL. This extention will silently break certain websites, such as the google cloud console. I don't know what else it might be breaking, but I advise everyone to uninstall this extension until the developer/s fix these problems.

if you need to do certain things this extension breaks sites. one of them is: console.cloud.google.com/apis I was extremely confused why I couldn't see anything. but this extension was the cause of it. If you're doing online school I wouldn't trust this extension could cause serious issues.

this is awesome like it has it downs like white text on white background and just not that good dark mode on a few websites but damm when you use this extension on Hulu it gets rid of that dumb airbrush effect on the bottom which means i can watch non-english shows and those subtitles. thank you.

Overall - It is really good! Details: I really like the simplicity of the extension. I would say it isn't perfect on every site and has a couple problems depending on the website you go on. But since every site is different, it makes sense to have that sort of problem. It is a rare problem to see which is a plus. This extension is adware that launches an ad for the "pro" version when you launch Chrome. If I wanted to be bombarded with ads, I'd install Bonzi Buddy. Also, the dark mode toggle is universal, not per-site, unless you manually type the domain into the exclusion list in the config. Looking at dark mode sites that the extension de-dark modes is ugly.

It doesn't load in dark mode for EVERY single website I open but, it does for the main ones I use and just as they are loading. I love this extension and I needed it in my life sooner. Easy to use and I appreciate the switch.

Need a save button for configurations. Current configuration page often makes me very confused whether it has saved what I fill in or not. Sometimes the exclude list fails to my inputs. This is a little bit annoying. This is why I give a 4-star instead of 5.

I have a huge problem with it. I want it active on a specific website not for all when I click it. Is there an option for that?

Does literally nothing when clicked, even after messing around with settings and watching the YouTube tutorial. Tried on multiple sites, including Wikipedia.

What an incredible extension! Dark Mode is one of those much needed features that are being implemented in a hacky way and each website or app has to support them on their end... but this extension addresses the issue from the Client side and manages to look good doing it! the Simple Toggle interface is ad-free and the function is extremely responsive! we need to buy this guy Coffee!

Excellent extension - BUT - it needs a way to turn it off for those pages which look better in the regular mode. And by "turn it off" I mean a toggle button so you can switch it off - then on - then off and so forth. (There might be one but just haven't found it yet.) Otherwise - a great program!

I love it BUT, I only want it to ENABLE dark mode in ONE specific website which is google calendar. The only option we have is to ADD a list of sites on which the dark mode extension will ignore converting to darkmode. Please create an option on which we can input a specific website that we only want to convert in darkmode and the rest will not be converted to dark mode.

Yep. It is okay. not working for all the websites. I used it for google and It made my google search page color inverted. but nice to have switch. whenever I need dark mode and I can turn it on. and If I don't want, I can simply turn it off. we can do this manually by using google chrome flags. There is an option to make web pages AMOLED Darker. But It is also very buggy sometimes. also You cannot change it whenever you need the normal mode.

A keyboard shortcut is missing, and very hard to find how to set it.

It works, sometimes For example: Amazon pages have quite a lot of white left on the page which seems to be unfixable. If a way to add an element myself, manually was added, this extension would be perfect.

It's the best night mode extension I've encountered so far. I use it for both Chrome and Edge. Make sure you pin it to the taskbar and use the switch.

Works well on some pages, actively makes other worse by leaving the background white, while changing black text to a light grey. Seems like I end up disabling it on at least half the pages I visit.

Yet the Chrome Web Store is NOT in Dark Mode. Go Figure. Also, before website loading, the browser flashes all white before loading the pages. It is KILLING my eyes. This flashing needs to be removed from the program. Also need an option to exclue certain sites that are ALREADY in dark mode, and there is no option like that. It's fairly good, but needs improvement.

This works SUPER well for me considering all of my college's webpages are just blindingly white and it flawlessly transforms them into dark mode while still having legible text. 10/10

There's a few problems with this extension. - The extension somehow changed roblox.com's font colour - Literally makes the screen black on genshin impact website - Inverts google slides screens which is ???

This used to be decent. Now it doesn't work. The functionality to only INCLUDE certain sites doesn't work (tickboxes) because this thing makes ALL sites dark mode. I only want SPECIFIC sites to BE dark mode, not have to be EXCLUDED from dark mode, if that makes sense. Additive rather than subtractive approach. Plus as it is, it just doesn't look good.

It works very well, but could be perfect with one simple improvement. I've tried a few dark mode extensions and this one seems to have the cleanest results. HOWEVER, it really needs either a whitelist-only mode or the toggle to be specific to sites. The problem is that many sites don't need to have dark mode forced on them. Some already have native dark mode support and others just look better light. Many sites get broken or look messy with this extension on. You can toggle the extension by clicking the button, but that disables the extension across the board for all sites/tabs. It would be MUCH BETTER if it would simply toggle it for that domain only. Alternatively, a mode that swapped the exclusions lists in the settings for an inclusion list (so that the extension would force dark mode on only domains in that list) would work too, although not as convenient.

this extension is a lifesaver and out of all the "Dark Mode" extensions, i love this the best. cute design too with the toggle. the thing is, it always starts heating up my mac quite quickly if i turn the extension on. i've tried removing the extension a few times (or even just turning it off) and my laptop would start settling down again. so yeah i'm quite conflicted :/

its so far the best dark mode extension i have found and its really simple all you do is tap the top right switch when it finishes downloading, then flip the switch and bam your in dark mode

I think it works like a charm! Can be buggy a bit regarding refreshing etc but that's inevitable when designing something that can work with anything. I use it all the time, and it works great

It is pretty good, it did in fact make a pretty good dark-mode. I find it pretty cool that the image of the switch changes whether you have it on or not (Just simply clicking the extension will turn on/off dark-mode). It also has a bunch of settings that you can play with! Btw, please do not expect this extension to change the color of the chrome store or your settings, for extensions cannot access those places. It also can only change the website you are viewing (so the place where all your tabs and search-bar are will not change color). Also, it can crash some website features (like the cookie-policy that some websites have)

I really hate this extension. Of course it works on their page but it doesn't work on the Chrome Web store actually. If you test this on a game called "roblox" the layout will overwrite with the white default layout in the background. Also in gmail it looks like "HIGH CONTRAST" i thought this was the one that had a absolute sleek modern design on the pages. IM REMOVING IT AFTER I WRITE THIS REVIEW.
