Sponsored items, sponsored items, sponsored items, and even more sponsored items. This extension appears to do nothing useful.
Does not remove sponsored ads in the middle of your search.
It didn't hide all sponsored items in search results and there is no apparent way to open your cart. It would be excellent if it worked but is currently unusable.
Yep, just like others have said, it doesn't work. Seeing all the same Sponsored ads.
I got it to filter out sponsored search results. It doesn't work. Still get tons of sponsored search results.
Broken. Doesn't remove sponsored listings. Removes many non-ad page elements. Great idea if it would be fixed.
It did work on Amazon.com as advertised - sadly they never ported the functionality so that it works on other countries versions (well amazon.co.uk, I conjess I didn't check .de or .jp).
worked fine until a couple days ago! hoping for a fix
Quite simply, it doesn't work. My search is still cluttered with the sponsored results, first and foremost.
not sure why so many haters. works perfectly for me on brave browser, even better than i thought it would. bonus that page loads super quick compared to before. thank you so so much for maintaining this extension. you're saving me so much money from impulsive adhd purchases.
just what i needed
It does not offer an option to toggle on blocking for amazon.ca—there are a whole bunch of other countries on there, but not their neighbor? I couldn't tell you if it worked or not, but when i tried it on the original dot-com domain it DID NOT block any ads.
Doesn't include Amazon.CA. No way to add other URLs to the extension
I downloaded this extension to remove sponsored ads. Sadly it does not remove them.
Sounds great. And, I tried it. It did remove ad banners. But, it left the more-annoying, unsorted "sponsored" search results.
this does not work
I installed this today because I am tired of sponsored ads but it does not work I still get sponsored ads. I guess I will uninstall and hope it gets better in the future
Not perfect, but the stock amazon interface is almost unusable, making this a huge improvement.
Didn't remove sponsored items which was the reason I installed it. Also removed too much other things from the site that made amazon hard to use.
Doesn't work at all. Still can see all sponsored items. On top of it breaks Amazon homepage to basic HTML view. Piece of junk.
does not work , ads still there , breaks amazon website
Does not remove sponsored items as claimed.
Doesn't work.
Didn't work for me, sure it gave me a lite starting page, but all of my queries are still littered with sponsored items. I sort by price and it's a hot mess with expensive sponsored items mixed in with properly sorted legitimate items. Time to remove.
Didn't remove the "sponsored" results from my searches, immediately removed plugin. Maybe Amazon changed how they're displaying those again.
It doesn't run automatically when visiting Amazon. I find I have to click the extension icon to reload Amazon to get it to clean up all the Amazon cruft. Also, there's no filtering of sponsored items which is possibly the worst part of the Amazon user experience.
Does not remove anything
Does not block sponsored products which is the main trouble selecting a product through the search on Amazon for me. More than half of search is sponsored product. It would be nice to have an extension which would block those.
Nope, it does NOT remove sponsored search results. This was the ENTIRE reason that I added the extension. All it did was make the header bar nearly empty. I don't care how good it works on the homepage. My problems is that when you search nearly every other row of search results is sponsored content. I'd like to not have to look for rows without sponsored content and THEN look at the items.
Unfortunately this doesn't work on amazon.it
Unfortunately not filtering out sponsored items.
This will save my a fortune. I have real trouble stopping myself on Amazon from buying more. I've wanted something like this for ages, finally found it!
No longer properly functional. It removes too many important interface elements (e.g., on most review comment forms, the "Post a comment" button vanished; and most of the page-top menu and other navigation is missing on every page). It also did not remove all of Amazon's ads. While it does provide you with a Google-like, nearly bare front page at Amazon (a front page most of us only spend seconds at), and it did kill some page-top ads on sub-pages, it did nothing for all the "Featured" listings that Amazon injects into your item search results, polluting the list. Getting rid of THOSE in particular was the only reason I wanted this extension; my mind already auto-ignores page-top and sidebar ads, but it's difficult to mentally weed out the spam listings of, say, hard drives in a multi-page list of drives. (About the only way to do it without reading in detail is to sort by price, and ignore entries in the list that aren't in price order.)
Doesn't do anything. Sponsored ads are still shown.
Doesn't work, sponsored links still dominate Amazon.
All the sponsored items are still there
No, it does NOT filter out "sponsored" items. That's the only reason I downloaded it, and all those sponsored items are still there.
Oh wow . . what I've been putting up with on Amazon "Sponsored ads." I just put this extension on Chrome and Amazon is TOTALLY different. Man that clutter is horrible. Thanks for this extension. What a difference.
Does not perform the key advertised function: to remove sponsored search results. Sponsored search results still show up.
did not work to removed sponsored items from smile.amazon.com nor from amazon.com.
Doesn't actually remove the Sponsored Products from search results. Extension doesn't work. Uninstalled immediately.
Doesn't work as advertised. No sponsored results removed.
Did not remove sponsored product ads from Amazon.com search results. Also destroyed page formatting; a massive block of whitespace was added on the left, among other oddities. See screenshot. https://i.imgur.com/JdOvBXd.png
Does not currently remove a single sponsored result.
JUST installed it, so I have not given it a fair shake yet, but already a HUGE improvement! No more MAGA hats and Trump items, thank GOD! One thing I noticed, however, is that there is still an "Inspired by your views" section at the bottom of the page. Strange, since I have turned off personalized ads. Great extension, I will be watching for new developments. THANK YOU!
it don't work. It don't do nothing.
Does a great job knocking out a lot of the self-advertising that Amazon does. However, I'm currently finding that it's not working at knocking out sponsored results in search queries. An example URL is https://www.amazon.com/s?k=oxalic+acid+wood+2lb&ref=nb_sb_noss Additionally, as another reviewer said, the inability to toggle it on and off easily is a major problem. There are certainly plenty of times when everything is needed.. and multiple steps to mess with the extension page are overkill.
Review Update: Developer responded to my original review re: not working with "Amazon Smile" URLs. The extension now works perfectly with Smile URLs all the way from search to viewing items to completing a purchase. Excellent! The only suggestion I have now is that it would be nice if the extension icon allowed a way to toggle the "lite" view on and off (like uBlock Origin does). While "lite" view is great there are times I want to see Amazon unfiltered. Disabling the extension then enabling later is several avoidable steps. Original review: This extension does not work when using "Amazon Smile" URLs to access Amazon. It appears to do a great job on the non-Smile URLs, but I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the ability to have my purchases make donations to my selected organization.
It doesn't remove sponsored products from amazon.de or amazon.fr - searching brings the "gesponsert" or "sponsorisé" articles on top.
As stated in another review, does not work with Amazon Smile yet.
