Why can't the software be used? When the display user loses connection

Very powerful tool for language learning, sometimes it does take a few captures for it to detect the correct text. I do wish they have a "dark mode" though, all my browser are in dark mode. But every time I open Copyfish a get flashbang a bit....

The first conversion never seems to work for me. I have to switch languages for the conversion to work, so I pick a random language at first to convert to, do the conversion, then pick a different language and it works. Using microsoft edge dev.

Poor UX, feels spammy and buggy.

so bad, the formatting is horrible, copying it to a document requires too much effort to format into normal text.

It's useful to read japanese, however I cannot use Desktop OCR anymore, when click the button it moves to option page.

Thanks Goolge for removing ability to see if app is free or not. Free version is utter garbage, it is useless. P.S. Chrome web store is just a scam now. I literally can't see if app is free or not.

Great tool and easy to use. This give very accurate OCR feature. Its desktop OCR feature is out of the box.

Bangla Not Support, Useless to me

This once very useful app has been getting worse every year. * The Free OCR engine is almost useless. * Half of the time not recognize vertical from horizontal text. * Transcribes vertical text in reverse order. * Even site access is now paywalled, so you have to press the extension button on every page, making shortcuts and mouse gestures useless. Uninstalled!

It doesn't work at all

When i am copying a different language it kept on spelling it wrong and puts a 9 instead of a g i hate it when that happens

This extension works well on the and the good part is the edit bar if any word copied wrong that u can edit on the window

Probably the best so far, but I see some issues... When using it on Japanese manga, it has trouble distinguishing certain characters from one another... For example: ぁ(a) and あ (a) This is not too much of an issue, because they have the same pronunciation, but it can sometimes affect how a sentence is read... It's a much bigger problem when it can't distinguish っ(tsu) from つ (tsu) because the former is silent and changes the pronunciation of the character that follows it... ex: つぱ = tsupa, っぱ = ppa... Sometimes it also mistakes ぱ(pa) for は(ha) or ば(ba) which have different pronunciations and change what the word or sentence means... the same for し(shi) and じ(ji) The "ten-ten" (") marks make a difference and sometimes the app misses them... > These are problems I find with all OCR devices, so it's not a particular problem with yours, but I want to leave an honest and complete review... Something that your app does better than any other app I've seen is reading vertical Japanese text... But it does it backwards... This is still somehow better than other similar programs... - Other apps read the first character of each line from left to right, then the second, and so on... > This app reads each line completely (top to bottom), but reads the lines from left to right... Japanese vertical text is read top to bottom, right to left... Vertical text I captured using this app: {サイコーたわ 広々と使えて 人少ないから 深夜の銭湯は} = "It's a great late-night bathhouse because it's spacious and not too many people are there." Should be read like this: { 深夜の銭湯は 人少ないから 広々と使えて サイコーたわ} = "Late-night bathhouses are spacious because there are fewer people, so it's great." But it's better than other apps, which read it like this: {サ広人深 イ々少夜 コとなの 1使い銭 だえか湯 わてらは} = "Sa Hirojin no shinin ai ko to na no 1 usages sen daeka yu watare wa" So it's still much better at reading vertical text than any other app I've used, but addressing these small problems would force me to change my rating to 5 stars...

It actually works! It of course depends on the image and font used, but the wait for the usual Arial font with a visibility of 8-10 font size is not that long (actually quite fast).

well ,i use this app for the long time and is really helpful to me .However ,when i reinstall my win7 , this app is not working "No internet connection, or can not reach OCR server" , hope you fix is soon ,thank for the good app

This is very useful for copying text from photos or places where words can't be selected and copied. To achieve the best results, simply zoom in on the text and avoid any unnecessary text/graphics from the selection box. Works like a charm every time!

The best OCR translator out there

it used to be great, i used it for translating manga. but ever since its update it reads japanese from right to left instead of the correct way of reading japanese. whats with that? id like some help on that if possible.

Very cool extension. One problem is that it doesn't seem to be able to grab text from PowerShell images.

It didn't fairly work when I was trying to use it on a image, that was in a different language, for example it translated COGALAH geeeeQAK L-eglH ITL.I!, when it should have been Cobalah bergerak lebih dari itu.

Does the job!

Really bad detection. For invoices, with tables, if OCR worked, you'd have to capture each column separately, then copy/paste onto your spreadsheet.

It has some issues regarding overlapping words and I hope they'll be solved in the next updates

This is really great, but it would be event greater if the panel had more lightweight mode - the mode where everything is removed except 4 buttons "Redo", "Recapture", "Copy" and google translate button. It will make extension perfect. Another useful things would be -ability to turn on auto copy of captured text -hot key for recapture action
