I love this - I wish there were more accents but otherwise this is amazing! All you do is select the accent and it saves it then paste it into your email. I use a Ctrl V to paste it into the body of my email. Amazing. Please add more accents :)
This was really helpful for typing out Spanish letters! Just right click the app and go to options, then paste in the letters needed for Spanish!
It helps me with homework but it doesn't have that many accents.
As of 2021, I don't think this extension works. At least it didn't work for me ;(
When I went to configure my accent grid and finalized the changes after a 1 day or so it would go back to it's original configuration.
This extension has been a lifesaver while learning Swedish. If there's any accents you need that aren't already included, it's fully customizable so you can add any accented letters that are missing! This makes it so much easier and simpler to write in a different language.
It works perfectly for school. It's frustrating to have to spell things out in another language, but not get credit all because I simply couldn't use accents and other characters.
It's a good app.
awesome! i love the customization abilities
Looks like it might be missing accents at first, but note that you can customize it! Right click, go to options, and type in the accents you want to show up! Great extension
Didn't have the accent e that i need most and the letter doesn't even enter and this was the only accent extension I could find. Horrible.
Just what I wanted for French accents! Simple, clean, uncluttered - wonderful. It even has "–", "ß", and "•" which I also use a fair bit. This is the best accent extension I've found to date. Merci!
Did not work in Google Docs (like, really? It's a Google Chrome extension) -Revised- Read some of the reviews and learned that it only copies the character to the clipboard. Why it does not explain this is beyond me. And it really couldn't be that hard to code in the ability to insert the character at the cursor, could it?
It's good that it's customisable and you can add your own accents. However, it's a bit tedious that it just copies the accent to the keyboard, instead of placing it at the cursor. That requires one more operation per accentuated character, CTRL+V or paste operation. What would be even better for this would be the standard keyboard combination, for example CTRL+' followed by e would produce the e acute character. To be fair, this is something that Google should provide natively, not through a third-party extension.
Simple et efficace !
Great app once you know how to use it...you need to CTRL-V to paste the accent, and search [google] HTML special characters to change options; the app itself is really wonderful!
it works although it's rather tedious to use and doesn't really work for Spanish because of it's limited characters
it didnt work
Doesn't work at all.
Why is there no accent aigu? So dumb!!!
DOes not, as expected transfer the accented letter. Does not work at all.
Decent but there were only like 4 accents.
I use it for German. Works fine.
It barely has any accented characters.
Very handy for a kid who has all his french stuff online and has to type french accent marks. Plus it gives me the whole list, that way I don't have to keep pulling a paper with marks on it form my bookbag
Didnt work
Wouldn't work....
Great. Does its job. Might be nice if you could increase grid size but 2 4x4's is enough for me.
Great little grid and highly customisable, nice
Wonderful, only problem is I wish you could have more places for accents. maybe 25 rather than what we have now. Other than that it is great, thanks! (love the flexibility) By the way everyone it works not only for french but all languages.
Not much selection.
This app is just what I needed. For those who say it isn't flexible, google 'special characters html' to find a page with the codes you need, go to 'options' in the app, and overwrite the codes you don't need with the ones you do. After that, add a keyboard shortcut as set out in the description. This should all take a few minutes to do - after that you're all set.
Works, but does not work for google docs and there is no e with accent goute
Very limited set of characters - insufficient for typing in Italian.
I have to type in Irish and Gaelic all of the time and this was easy to recode to give me all of the accented vowels for both languages.
There are accents missing and not applicable to all languages needing accents. Little frustrating.
Very limited selection and, I'm sorry, I don't know html so I can't customize it. Also, having to paste the characters in adds an extra step. There used to be an app that would do this automatically with a single keypress that would modify the last character entered. This app is counter-intuitive and clumsy. Epic fail.
I need spanish accents. there arent any here.
Excellent and totally flexible app - my Chromebook (Asus C300) doesn't support CTRL+SHIFT+e or a to produce acutes (for some reason) - so I sub'd their HTML codes into the buttons I didn't think I'd be using -thanks
It's not working. Am I missing something? Too bad as it looks great.
Has barely half of the accents for French, not to speak of other popular European languages.
The best one I've checked for inserting characters. This is really the simplest and easiest to configure one. 32 symbols is enough for me.
Super handy! Works perfectly 100% of the time, very easy to use and customizable. Might be a bit better if it took unicode values as well as html. Might also be a bit better with more slots (I use it for IPA) under alt and ctrl in addition to shift.
Doesn't work.
Soooo helpful. It's very annoying when you are on a pc and trying to look up accent codes to type. This extension is really easy to use and if you want an uppercase letter just hit the shift key and there it is. Once you click on the appropriate letter it copies it to the clipboard and you just need to paste it in your document. Soooo Easy!
