I just installed it.. From looks of it and function it's good but just want to confirm Can it store history for more than 90 days? or it will also remove history records once 90 days are passed just like chrome native history?

Really poor search. If you search for two terms, like "bread butter", you won't find anything unless the words are in the title in exactly the same order: "bread butter". You won't find, say, "bread and butter". You can't search for a URL (just the domain name gets searched). Native Chrome search does all that.

Great! I'd feel a little better about it if it was trusted by the system.

It certainly looks nicer than the standard Brave History tab, but ... * why is the time indicator reversed, progressing from right to left? Coder from Japan? * why is there no way to mark and restore more than a single tab at a time? 99% of the time I search the browser history it's because I want to restore tabs. Something that's super easy in Firefox. Why are all Chromium extensions only focused on deleting stuff. Seriously, what sites are you ppl visiting that the only purpose of the browser history you can think of is deleting it^^. This extension makes browsing the history more convenient, but doesn't add any useful functionality. It doesn't enable me to do anything I wasn't able to do with a stock Brave install. Pretty, but ultimately worthless. Add a proper restore function and I'll change my mind and the rating in a heartbeat.

Everything works ok except that I cannot find chrome browser's history journey anymore, which is a new feature in the latest chrome version. An button for switching to chrome default history page or chrome history journey page.

After I delete the history of a site (about 2,000 records), the plugin keeps showing up as loading... is this a performance issue? I don't feel like this problem can be fixed by waiting

Does this extension have an option to automatically filter browsing history? I wanted to write a list of keywords and URLs to be automatically removed from the history, but I couldn't find this option.

Is there not an option to export history? Other than that, this is a huge step-up over Brave's history page.

It's a really great extension in fact and loved it because it help med a lot. But for some reason, all of my history got deleted on May 20th and I don't even know why. Neither if it was my browser fault or extension fault.

This is better, brave's history search sucks.

This is actually a better type of history! It solved many of the problems I had with the normal history.

Pretty good so far, but please fix the devices feature so that ALL your windows on other devices are being shown, currently only seeing one window on my other device even though I have multiple open.

Displays dates in that confusing US date format, even though my browser and Google settings are set to display dates normally. That makes this plug-in a non-starter, and the Firefox equivalent doesn't have this problem, and it looks better.

Sigh, it breaks middle click and right click, wish it didn't. With regular chrome history, I can middle click a link, or right click and select open in new tab and the link would be opened in the background without focusing on the new tab. I want to like this extension but I like middle click more.

Doesn't seem to be able to search deeper if no results are found during initial search.

Works very well for the indented purpose: simple and clean but still has all the features I was looking for.

I greatly dislike the UI color change. Please add an option to change back to the previous color scheme as the orange is awfully ugly. I've used this extension for around a year as it was the best one and had a UI i liked. there is a similar history extension with the previous colors but it only opens through extension button and not in a new tab. I will change my review if a color option is added.

The new version sucks. Keyboard shortcuts are no longer working (e.g. ctrl-f) and you can't open a link in new tab without switching to the newly opened tab (previously you could click a link with middle mouse button, now it's not working and you have to manually switch back to the history tab every time, very annoying when opening multiple links).

Garbage. They put all their effort into making it "pretty" rather than providing any value in usability.

Could we have an option to disable animations? before the update, if you clicked fast on the X near every item, you deleted them all if you do it now, with the deleting animation, the extension is not that fast as the clicks making you wait, because if you don't the extension instead of deleting those items, starts to open them in new tabs because the deleting item animation will move the "more from this site" button to the right, so instead of clicking in the next item X immediately, you click on that "more from" button that is slowly moving right Honestly, this is the kind of UI upgrades that are a step backwards from what it was previously.

I've used this for years, love it! I like the new UI but my one complaint is that the circular icons/buttons for the hours at the top doesn't remain at the top of the screen when you scroll down. For example, if I'm looking at history from a few hours ago, I have to manually scroll up rather than just clicking the button for the hour I want to view history for at the top. It used to stay at the top so I could just snap to whichever hour I want to view regardless of where I am on the screen. I hope this makes sense, it's kind of hard to describe.

I like the new paint job. However, the fact that there is now an additional confirmation pop-up when deleting a history item is now annoying. One of the reasons why I liked this extension is because I could just go bang bang bang and delete history items now I have to deal with an additional (annoying) pop-up. I have switched to the default history viewer as a result.

This extension just went from "it's okay" to "it's okay, but what really sucks is that after the latest update, I now have to confirm every delete action. I used to be able to delete 20 items in two seconds, now it takes an eternity. I'm going to look around and see if I can find something better. Ughh!"

Some queries that return results with regular History don't return any results with Better History, making it useless.

It's really sad how a company as huge as Google needs to have casual developers not working for them pick up their slack. This works better than Chrome's own history in every way possible, although I wish the author could add an "Open all tabs from another device" button that can be normally seen in History -> Devices tab in normal history.

I can't believe how bad default Chrome History is. This one is a great improvement, but when I go to delete multiple pieces of history at once it crashes Chrome. What's going on? Edit: Turns out it's a limitation of the way Chrome handles the history and not the plugin itself.

Why was this removed from the web store and disabled? I only checked more recently and turns out since version 3.9.2 it had been disabled for violating the store policy. Default chrome history has gotten better recently but this is still the best option imo.

why it doesn't show history from devices? only those sites which I opened in desktop browser. any way it has better search, not like that sucking chrome by default.

This should be the default history in Chrome. Did exactly what I wanted: look up history for a particular date. Fast and without fuss. This is a keeper.

Wonderful, totally loved it.

As a consultant, every 0:15 minutes of my time requires a memo in Quickbooks. When I have to switch between tasks/calls/projects frequently in a given day, Better History comes to the rescue, showing me only the hours of the day where I was actually active, and allowing me to scan that hour to determine what % of time was spent on which tasks. The only downside: Outlook messages have specific URLs, but it won't lead you to the exact email you opened (in the web version of Outlook), so you'll need a different extension if you need to track emails read. Use your Sent folder to track emails sent to clients etc instead.

The mere fact that you can filter your history and clear the result all at once already makes this miles better than Chrome's asinine History.

Post on Quora from May 10, 2018 This week, the “Better History” extension for Chrome has been sold to some really sketchy people, who have ruined it by creating redirects to unanalytics and other malicious sites. Uninstall this extension if you have it.

Great looking extension. Only expecting to get few updates since some minor bugs are there as everyone commenting. plus, I request you to also add History On/Off button and (if possible) History blocking service since some tracking companies track my browsing history as well (I heard, not sure) ..will be few nice additionional feature.

Has less functions than original chrome history. This extension cannot even select multiple links.

The main thing i need is a detailed list of everytime a page is attempted to be accessed. This app and the main chrome history will group thinks So if i visit a site at 8 am and come pack to it at 9am the 8am line is gone only a line there.

Really like this plugin! I do wish it were possible to reverse the sort with oldest on top.

Much better than Chromes default History

I just don't understand why Chrome doesn't have this natively.

The search bar works really slow. It waits until all of the results are retrieved. At first, I thought the search bar wasn't working at all. I wish it would display results simultaneously while retrieving the results so I wouldn't have to wait.

This extension looks like a partial rip-off of the old "Improved History". However, it works and has a nice grayscale icon (not the same as you see in Chrome store).

Waste of time. The extension won't go back even four days. Further, the author is unresponsive to requests to fix it.

Pros: I LOVE that you can delete any particular hour from any particular day. Handy! It's visually easy to select previous days and weeks. Cons: There's no way to see entire history without manually searching "https" for example to bring up everything. There is no "Today" button, so if you go back quite a ways, good luck clicking your mouse forever to get back to today, or use the search function to search for today's date. Because it replaces Chrome's History you loose all functionality to delete history beyond whichever hour and day is showing on the screen. So this is a sacrifice. However I simply keep the extension disabled until I know that I want to delete a particular hour for a particular day lol

works but is super slow and i can't find a way to turn it off for when you want to use the more basic history search as it's much faster for me (instead I have to remove the extension entirely)

Only been using it for a week, loving it. There used to be a good chrome extension for this purpose but that was gone And for a long while I have to live with the chrome's own stupid history page. Finally I found this one! Beautiful! Thank you so much!!

This is the best history extension for Google Chrome. I would suggest these two items to make it even better: - Show the calendar from left to right (old to new) rather than from right to left (new to old) - The ability to select multiple sites

The user Interface is awesome and it really helps you filter out your history and find what you are looking for, easy and quick.
