it's a fishing trap. block bookmars after it reaches to specific count it seems. and asks for money. don use it.
Unable to get past "Buy Paid Version" -- endless circle of "allowing" access. Fail. Moving on.
This is simply one of the best tab management extensions out there! Do not hesitate to try it or even buying the paid version to support the developer!
User complaints receive no reply from developer. Product now seems dead.
I love TabOutliner but it won't under maintainance any more. I could not find an alternative like it and I think someone should continue developing in this way. so I built a similar one. So if anyone is searching for an alternative, please try "Link Map". It is free. I just put it on the Chrome Web Store. url: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/link-map/jappgmhllahigjolfpgbjdfhciabdnde
La extensión no funciona. La instalé. La usé por un año. Ahora se rompió y perdí todo lo que había guardado.
This is one of the most useful and functional extensions I've ever used. The author could create a product and allow you to save the information online as well as sync between devices, at a fair price, I would certainly pay and support, thanks and success to the author, God bless Ukraine.
!! just want to remind everyone that the developer of this extension is Ukrainian and not everything is about you ? !! Lack of updates and support has been a factor for many years and there are many reviews here that have mentioned it as far back is 2018, consider doing your research before you download stuff from the internet. Rather than complain about Vladylsav not answering every email about everyone's individual issue about a project he's stated isn't his main priority, consider making your own extension, finding another one, or asking Google to pay Vladylsav, pick up this code, and develop it themselves so that he doesn't have to deal with y'all whinging and you can get your lil updates. Better yet, tell Russia to back down, stay in their lane, and let the Ukrainian peoples live in peace, so they can solve your tech support problems ? Technology changes over time, things become incompatible, outdated, developers have their own lives to live - unless war robs them of it. Vladylsav I hope you're alright and thank you for making such a brilliant extension.
I *used* to LOVE this extension. I recommended it to everyone. I paid for the pro version. But I started having issues with it last year. Somehow, it no longer recognized I was a paid user. I tried contact support, but didn't get a response. I thought, I've used this for well over 5 years and love it. I'll just pay again. So I became a paid user again. Now, I'm still having issues, and it has "forgotten" I'm a paid user yet again. I am very sad to lose this extension, I really loved it. But it's no longer being supported or maintained. Don't invest your time in learning to use this, and definitely don't pay for the pro version.
Used this years ago, decided to come back, finally got rid of 1000 tabs and organised 300 I been keeping, no wonder it was so hard to go through before :) Must of overlooked the ctrl-s to save the tree back in the day, always gonna save the treee. Don't seem to be having any issues with Brave other than tested the donate option to try see what the price was but get errors as it can't understand that your logged in. If wasn't logged in wouldn't be able to write this reivew, just keep the windows closed from the bottom left box in the tabsoutliner tree page and you can't really go wrong, as long as your backed up, your not losing your pages, probably gonna have to make a script with ahk to back it up every day since can't donate as of Brave, it's a great extention, luckily the free features are amazing, at least the developer was kind enough to let us have the notes function.
I've been using this extension for almost a year and it's been an absolute game changer for me. I've spent weeks searching and trying out several tab managers and IMO this one is far superior. I can't recommend it enough. That being said, I have NOT purchased a license yet as all the recent reviews I've seen in regard to the paid features haven't been functioning as they should. After very brief surfing, this may be partially due to the need to convert from manifest v2 to v3 requirements before the end of the year. I have not experienced ANY issues or hiccups using the free version and I'd like to keep it that way, which is why I'm refraining from purchasing a license until the next update. I feel it's also important to recognize this is a solo-dev project (as far as I can tell). I understand and agree with his decisions on funding the development of TO. However, my main concern is that the people who do upgrade and help fund this project appear to be left in the dust when bugs do arise, considering it's updated infrequently and support responses seem to be severely delayed. This inevitably leads to frustrated users, which is so unfortunate because this extension is truly amazing at what it does. My guess is Vlad is a full-time software dev and doesn't have as much time as we'd like him to spend on supporting this extension regularly, but this process isn't sustainable to allow TO to reach its full potential. I look forward to the next update and will pay close attention to the recent reviews, as I'll be ready to upgrade once the current issues clear up. I was literally in the process of purchasing today until I saw how many low star reviews were posted recently regarding the paid version. TL;DR: TO is absolutely worth $15 when it functions as expected, but given the sporadic updates and delayed support it's difficult to recommend purchasing a license when there's no assurance it won't stop working a week after and you'll be stuck with a bug-ridden extension looking for alternatives. The free version works just fine and is still an exceptional extension that will transform your web browsing experience. Should be 5/5, but for the above reasons, 4/5
Would give it 5 stars (not 3), but half the time it just fails to launch when clicking on the icon. Not sure how much longer I'm going to keep trying.
Even as a paid customer, I got no response after reaching out to their email address twice. Buyers beware.
Utterly useless and non-functioning. There is no extension, or it simply does NOT operate since upon clicking on it, nothing happens. It simply does not respond. The only other option available is to right click which only offers `Tabs outline'. All this does is bring you back to the Chrome extensions page. This piece of garbage is fake. and utterly useless. The developer makes the excuse that it's a bug. Folks, the developer is a scam artist. He has deliberately created this problem so that he can con you into `buying' the upgrade. Notice how he doesn't offer any resolution.
Feature set is pretty good, but **** Documentation is HORRIBLE *** **** THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO SUPPORT REQUESTS *** It's easy to see they have a GOOD CODER, but aside from that, they are a REALLY TERRIBLE AND UNPROFESSSIONAL COMPANY. As an example, just look at all the grammatical mistakes they make in the Chrome Webstore where they are trying to get you to buy their product. Now just imagine what happens once they have your money. There's NO STANDARD OF PROFESSINALISM. They just don't care. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY from this product, unless you feel like you really need it. And since there are so many other FREE TAB MANAGERS out there, WHY WOULD YOU SET YOURSELF UP FOR FRUSTRATION BY trying to learn a product with horrible documentation and no technical support? BEWARE AND STAY AWAY.
I've only superficially looked at this extension. I've opted against it the second I saw that it doesn't import Chrome's native window names. My biggest problem is not organizing or finding tabs (Chrome's native tab search and tab grouping is good enough for my needs), but a keyboard shortcut to find windows by name. For almost two years now Chrome has added a feature to name windows, but this tool doesn't display them, instead has its own and incompatible window naming scheme.
been using it for years, very helpful -- i do wish there was a simple way to delete all crashed views, though this post gives a work-around for that problem: https://iam.thunder.spb.ru/posts/2021/02/07/tabs-outliner-and-cleanup-crashed-sessions
This extension is an absolute must have. No other extension I've seen does what this one does. If you are like me and are prone to having so many tabs open that it stops showing the number of tabs in the tab box and just shows a this smiley face :D then this is the extension for you. I haven't found another extension that handles tabs like this does.
It is a good extension if the customer support wasn't awful. It has a bad bug, where it stops displaying the save tabs tree (issue seems to correlate with certain Chrome updates). To get it to redisplay the tree, one has to uninstall and reinstall it. I paid $15 for it, had to reinstall the extension to get the tree to show again. Now it does not recognize my paid more. And no response from customer support. There is no way to enter a license into it. Money down the drain!
I used to use this a lot, I paid the $15 for cloud sync and backup. Then, because they link the paid version to the BROWSER ID(!!) and not the username or email address, a simple reinstall of windows, and I lose my paid status. The publisher doesn't respond to any requests for over 4 years now, I've been waiting for an answer across 6+ emails. So, Don't fall into the same trap I did. If a publisher uses browser ID, it's basically throwing money away.
1. Outliner Window doesn't open anymore after I worked with 2 monitors (2x 1920x1080) and then restarted my laptop and opened chrome without external monitors (laptop display is 1920x1080): _generated_background_page.html:1 Error handling response: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'height') at chrome-extension://eggkanocgddhmamlbiijnphhppkpkmkl/background.js:1127:49 Unchecked runtime.lastError: Invalid value for bounds. Bounds must be at least 50% within visible screen space. 2. Every now and then links in some windows in the Tabs Outliner don't open by left click any more. Closing or killing chrome didn't help. What helped: backup (settings > backup) for every non-responding window/group in Tabs Outliner: drag a new window/group (from the menu-popup below) just over the non-responding window/group at the same hierarchy level move the old non-responding window/group under this empty window/group delete the old non-responding window/group (it must be expanded (!), otherwise all links in it are gone) ->voilà!
I don't understand some of the features. I saved a Window with 5 tabs. I later opened it and browsed for a while. In the course of browsing I opened some google search and other tabs. Then I closed the browser. Next day, when I tried opening my saved Window, it opened up with all the other tabs I had opened while browsing. Why would it auto-save my session into an already saved window and mess it up? How do I prevent this from happening. Also, why does it keep saying Windows crashed for each session that I close? I close my browser perfectly correctly. Why does your extension say the window crashed? Lastly, I think the current session should come right on top under the words 'Current Session' instead of right at the bottom. Why should I see some old sessions under the 'Current Session' title? Many of these small things make your otherwise excellent app extremely confusing.
Restoring a closed window will load all the tabs at once. There is no option for lazy tab loading, so rate limits and hanging/crashing is guaranteed with larger windows. You can choose a single tab to restore from a closed window, but there is no way to easily navigate through the closed tabs to manually load them slowly other than using the mouse even with the paid version.
Terrible UI/UX
Hours of effort organizing my life, gone in one second. If you have a lot of unresolved self-hate, this is the plugin for you.
awesome extension!
I loved the idea of this app and immediately paid for the upgrade. I found it because I have tried to switch to using my PC primarily with a keyboard in the first place, so not having that feature was a dealbreaker, but the rest of the feature set is amazing to make it worth it. 14.95 is pretty steep though, considering premium apps like Nova Launcher only charges a few bucks for premium, and that app is by far much more complex than this. This is just a fancy skin on top of a tree data structure. However, and this is a big issue for me, is that the only way to back up your settings seems to be through Google Drive. I installed this through the Chrome store on Edge, and Edge does not support the Google Drive API. At the very least, if you insist on doing it this way, add in support for OneDrive in Edge so that Edge users can also back up their data. However, it would be highly preferable if you'd give us a portable license key so we can enter it ourselves on whatever browser we want instead of relying on the email address for the logged in browser session. This is the only reason for 1 starring this app, because for something so useful and expensive, not having this functionality is a slap in the face to everyone who paid for it ($14.95!).
That is a great tool. The only annoying thing for me is, it does not save Chrome's builtin tab groups (or does it save?)
Without an easy way to purge old window history, I have found the extension too much trouble to use. The popup window fills up with garbage closed windows that were closed years ago. It is far too much trouble to purge them by hand, especially as the window gets exponentially slower the more garbage it collects. If the extension offered an automated way to discard old crashed windows after 90+ days that would help. Also if there was a different area for recovering crashed windows than currently open windows, that also would help.
these guys are f*** C*** their service kept crashing i bought it twice I think they have it out for me or something becuase I cant reactivate my account for some reason.
If you try to close a window with Chrome's History>Recently Closed feature it will recover the closed tabs with the window, and their pages reachable from the Back's button. If you try this with Tabs Outliner the pages will only restore their urls, causing all the Back buttons of them to be disabled, as their story was lost.
it is great, but could be better. like others i would like it if i could make a saved copy of "just the tabs currently open and not saved+closed" in addition to the version that includes the saved+closed tabs. also, recently it has been having issues with errors and it crashes chrome. the errors that appear are things like "Unchecked runtime.lastError: No tab with id: 2308." and many more "no tab with id: #". i don't know if this is related to a combination of extensions that are incompatible or just a bug that happened after chrome updated and the extension didn't update. either way there is room for improvements. i still like it though. the setup is nice and has good color schemes and useful ideas like naming window sessions. if they fix the part where chrome crashes due to errors it would be 5 star for me even if it didn't improve on the functions. then again maybe it's chrome that needs to be fixed instead. either way i hope it gets fixed and runs properly like it used to.
As someone else mention, there's always room for improvement, but this extension is totally awesome. If you have a tab hoarding problem (like me) and don't want to solve that problem (like me), or you just like to sort all your research tabs into clear, well-defined groups (also like me), this extension is definitely for you. There is a learning curve for sure, but it's totally worth getting used to it. I personally didn't find the paid mode worth it BUT (HUGE BUT) I would purchase the paid mode again to support development anyway. I in fact already did that when my computer died and I couldn't recover the key. Still worth it. If nothing else, the developer is Ukrainian. ALSO, because everyone seems to not know this, you can manually backup and restore your entire tree without paid mode. See <https://www.naturalborncoder.com/miscellaneous/2021/06/08/tabs-outliner-backup-and-restore/>. Donate for the paid mode anyway.
Can't live without this extension. Awesome tool.
This is the best of the 4-star or better extensions I tried out in the cws. I rarely give a 5-star as there is always room for improvement. That being said, I found it to be a stunning improvement over the others on just the free level. There are a couple of thoughts I have, first is a dedupe function that works for individual windows with any number of saved tabs, window groups - especially when servings as an aggregator of multiple windows collected under an umbrella group name, and to search the whole collection in outliner - or the ability to select any number of windows or groups to be collectively searched as a finite selection of the whole collection. It would be helpful to be able to filter by type (YouTube vs Vimeo, vs Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). The ability to save the Outliner collection to any Cloud storage whether, Google, 1Drive, IDrive, Norton, Dropbox, Box, iCloud, or a NAS on your LAN. The ability to convert (easily) your entire Bookmark Manager from Chrome to Tabs Outliner indexed according to the folder Tree you created in the Chrome BM Mgr. with the drag and drop edit functions available in Tabs Outliner. a numbering/sub-numbering function and finally - spellcheck. These are not criticisms, just thoughts on improving workflow and functionality. The 'dedupe' however, this would be huge asset, especially when researching and comparing a large number of product pages that send you around and around in circles on Amazon and BestBuy.
My favorite extension. Only problem is that until recently (I'm guessing caused by a Chrome and Chromium update, since this started to happen recently at both browsers) close-saving a windows from TabsOutliner won't save the view if Chrome is exited too quickly. If someone knows a fix for this please let me know!
I am really upset. It didn't remember any of my Tab stacks.
As of right now it doesn't work and is completely unusable. Everything I saved is inaccessible.
Nice concept but poor usability. Someone should write a better extension based on the same idea.
Don't buy paid mode ! Clicked "Allow Email Access and Continue" and nothing happenned. No email-support replies.
I've been using Tabs Outliner for quite a while now & it’s been working great. But for the past week, I've been getting an error that it can’t back up my tabs. I thought I'd reinstall it, which just made things many times worse. I lost my entire tab structure & I had paid for it a long time ago which always transferred over but it didn’t after I reinstalled it. I thought I would pay again but it’s not even acknowledging my purchase. Now I can't even edit what I have there to even recreate it. I guess it's time to go back to the drawing board & find an extension that ACTUALLY WORKS!!!
This is an indispensable tab manager for power-users but there seems to be a memory leak; it's quite annoying. Fix it temporarily by disabling and re-enabling the extension or exiting Chrome completely and re-opening it. My old comment that the replies reference was about a Google Drive problem that went unfixed for a long time. It seems to be functioning fine now.
I was very exited about his app but i end up with 3x more tabs than the reality until I crashed. Something made many copies of the tabs. i used it 2 time and both time tabs multiplied!!! Any idea why?
No exaggeration: my entire workflow depends on this plugin. Thank you so much for making it.
Honestly, this is the best tab organizer extension I've found. Works really well, no bugs. Straightforward and easy to use. I always install this application whenever I get a new laptop or browser profile.
It's been the backbone of my browsing, creativity and work since 2013 - for almost a decade! Life-changing, so glad I found it back then. Lots of functionality: I can overview, manage, organize (group and label tabs and windows), duplicate anything, and add notes. And the paid version is a one-time payment and well worth it.
Power user ... I open multiple Tabs from the most useful candidates of a focused chrome search, then sift the results, close the trash, pin useful matches. Two or three searches, and Chrome starts creaking. This plugin is like a dynamic bookmark nested tree display beside my session. I can physically close a window if I'm focused on something else, but still have ALL those tab results visible and ready to open at a mouse-click, and AGAIN if I'm working on the topic two months later! Or close selectively 'sleep' (close) tabs in a window, as I nail down my search. Tab is gone from my physical window, but appears 'disabled' (greyed-out) at the same tab order position for that window in the Tabs Outliner tree. I don't use it all the time, but it's never far away.
Great extension! Thank you!
Would be great to add support for the Named Window feature as well as the Group/labels that have been added to Chrome ... Could automatically populate each Window with a name, and group/label groups of nodes
The extension does exactly what it claims to do. It takes some getting used to, but can be very effective as a manager of all your online activity if you simply put some effort into it (at least, I believe it can - I've used it for only a couple of days). It actually has too many options and choices which lead to permanent results, which got me frustrated. The fact that a session which was saved while in "Incognito mode" reopens in a regular window, adding the whole session to the browser's records is also a deal-breaker. I recommend it for researching and cross-referencing information, though.
WORLDS better than that stupid "Too Many Tabs" add-on. Well done. You have a brain. The other guy does NOT. Really a spectacular idea, and perfectly executed. No advice or recommendations.
Where is it? I downloaded, it appeared to install, showed an icon which matched the one described in the last window of the install procedure, with a red "(1)" presumably indicating one action item, which I ignored, and closed the install. Now, I can't find the icon.
The only Tabs Manager that actually solves the problem. Improved my life profoundly. KUDOS.
Solves a big problem for professional researchers and/or the perpetually curious.
This extension silently steals keyboard shortcuts without warning, documentation or optional settings. For example, Alt+T (used in Twitch) will close the browser window. This makes troubleshooting really difficult if one isn't aware that this extension does silent keyboard shortcut poaching - as soon as the extension is disabled, keys start working again. It's not worth managing tabs like this when other less intrusive options exist, sorry.
Looks like it will help me manage my ongoing tab addiction. Too bad the paid version isn't provided as part of a time limited trial. I'm not going to spend much time trying to figure out what I am missing.
This extension is definitely the best option for managing tons of tabs, but I believe that loading of the favicons for all the tabs is using too much resource and time. Could you please provide an option to disable favicons completely?
I'm writing a bad review in hopes that the admin actually sees this. I've had many unsuccessful attempts at contacting support. I'm on Brave and the premium features don't work meaning I can't really use it and I get a lot of annoying banners. When will this be fixed?
very useful ...Thank you
Simply the best tab manager extension you could find out there
great
"Error: OAuth2 request failed: Connection failed (-2)." when trying to connect to Google Drive from Edge browser. This is core functionality to work on 2 computers I cannot do without.
Grouped tabs (created by right clicking on tab title) should be shown as sub item while group should be using same name of the group. Rather we create a new group in tree.
If there are words to express how much had this extension helped me, then there are none! Because i am shocked...
Very nice and useful extension.
I am a Technical Product Manager and have been using it for my work since 2018...my struggle is that I have to deal with multiple number of projects and its related JIRA/Confluence/info at the same time. This help me context switch quickly and I use it along with Multiple desktop to help me switch. I think this is the best tool around and it increased my productivities by at least 50% and avoid forgetting things. Totally worth it for $10-15 that you can just buy it yourself and use it for work and personal.
I've been using this extension for a little less than ten years and it's the best of its kind. It's not perfect, but for what it's worth, it's good. I guess I ought to pay the devs at last, though I don't need the paid features, just for the sake of gratitude.
UPDATE 7/26/2021 - THE PAID VERSION IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE ACTIVATED. The dev website is also seemingly unattended to now. Not sure what's going on, but I have been using for years and would really like to activate my paid version on my new computer. Really frustrated this hasn't been resolved yet. It has been like this for months now and there are a ton of review mentioning it. I don't see any open tickets against the issue, have seen no resolution from the community side, and have no idea when anything will change. It would be great to get an update! I want to keep using this and recommending to everyone as I have been for at least 6+ years, but in it's current state, I am not certain I can do that. Holding off changing my rating, as it has earned 5 stars even if it no longer works properly, as it has truly impacted the way I am able to process the vastness of the internet. Any updates from either staff or community would be suuuper appreciated! I don't ever want to go back. This has changed my research methods considerably, and the results have been potent. Great app, recommend it more than anything else on the webstore at time of review. One tip, you can always use this in conjunction with existing bookmark functions in chrome, in particular "bookmark all tabs" and save into a folder. This way you have an extra layer, and an exportable one at that, of protection and organization. SO GOOD. ADDED LATER: Once again, still using this app, and the most helpful tool I have ever found for internet research. Without such a tool, I would literally not have noticed the patterns in my "Lateral Root Discovery" process. To the programmers - I WILL BE SENDING YOU MONEY!!!! Take my money. Where is the donate option? better yet, where is the "Invest into these programmers directly" button? Lastly, if you made it this far in the review, and are still not certain if you want it, I think you are using the internet wrong maybe? I don't know. Just try it out, no ads, easy to delete, unobtrusive, and a dang-near-nuclear-catalyst for productivity. I mean, look at the score, at the time of writing this, the app had 5 stars and 1074 ratings. One of the only apps I have seen on the webstore to get above 1000 ratings, and still be near 5 stars (that doesn't also have FAKE=click-farmed-psuedo reviews in the form of "I like this app ______, it does _____ and _____ well.", as well all know by now those don't help anyone understand if they should try it out or not.) as even the best rated apps, have people using the 5 stars available to review the product, as a system where you leave one star, and hope the dev reads your minor complaint... Sorry. WebStore vent from daily/pro user perspective. Tabs Outliner is amazing. Much Organize. WOW Tabs.
I don't know how I ever lived without this. Used to love this extension so much but now there is no support, no response to emails, very disappointing. I have thousands of tabs saved over 3 years that I can't recover without help, and I can't get help. Once again I'm having issues. This program is great when you first start using it, but it falls apart when you get a lot of saved tabs. First you end up with a dozen copies of each session. There needs to be a utility you can run to remove duplicates. Second there should be a way to export the tabs to a file of hyperlinks. Otherwise your file gets too big and all you can do is export old ones, but they are so hard to re-import that you never can look at them again.
i'm really impressed w/ this app! even tho it took a little longer for me to understand each of its functions. trash can: closes tab & erases record x: closes tab but retains record
Amazing. I have been using this for years. best tab management ever
There are a few really good session and tab managers, etc. but this one is way above all and have many more other brilliant features. Out of this world, really. Loved it, indeed! If you have problems with too many tabs, windows and sessions like me, and etc., this is a must must must for you. OMG! You can even save links across different Google accounts to Google doc, etc. As you explore further like me, you will find out there are greater hidden treasures in this superb extension! If this rating allows me to give more stars, it has to be 10... upon 5! This is the best Chrome extension that I have ever installed, and yes, the regular free version is really all you need but I will get the premium version in support and appreciation of the developer and to enjoy more privileges.
I think this has various features but all I use it for is to restore my tabs if a Chrome crash loses them all, which happens every month or so. It doesn't restore my tab groups as well or I'd give it 5 stars. Really a must-have extension for people who like to keep a lot of open tabs.
Absolutely the best tab solution for anyone with ADHD. Note from the developer: • Please don't use Reviews page in the Chrome Web Store for posting questions, bug reports, feature requests or anything else that might require response or communication from us. • Note that Chrome Web Store does not send notifications on posts or answers in the Reviews or Support sections. They instead list these support options: Email: support@tabsoutliner com Userecho: tabsoutliner.userecho com
It's okay, a bit unfinished. Which is weird considering how much they charge for the paid features, that there's more of than free features.. I'll be looking for alternatives
Works really well with Chrome. Paid version doesn't work at all with Brave. Tried contacting the developer for MONTHS, including on this forum, to no avail. No help from them. I have a paid license that I can't use. I've tried refraining from a bad review to give them a chance to respond. Nothing. That's unfortunate.
Less than a week of use and I'm already in love. I consider this software an excellent and very efficient way to register/write a brainstorm session, a superb way to keep your train of thought. I'll buy a license just to support the development. I just wish I knew this extension before. Thank you!
I luv this thing EXCEPT it trashes my SSD boot drive. When it is enabled, there is an extra TeraByte written to my SSD each day. My SSD life is only 300 days of that!!! This extension alone writes 20 to 80 MBytes / second. Averaging about 40 MBytes/s. No reading, just writing.
I've been using this tool for 4 years, and as a cloud consultant who typically has 15-20 tabs open at a time, and needs to quickly get to my most-used docs that are spread across dozens of customer/project folders... I cannot live without it! No other tab manager even comes close, and I have tried many. The learning curve is as bit higher than other tools, but with more features comes a little more to get used to (ever try Photoshop??). My paid license was tied to a previous job email, so I have paid again. I like the paid version so I can rearrange and indent/outdent all my nodes in the tree using Ctrl+arrow keys (it's wonky with a mouse), plus the backup feature. It's worth fifteen bucks, for sure!
The solution to a complicated problem is NOT to overcomplicate it. I finally gave up in frustration.
Tabs Outliner lost all my tabs! I turned off the extension for a while and when I turned it back in, everything was lost! Thanks for the waste of time!
Best extension ever! I cannot imagine NOT having this now. Thank you!
Все отлично, но 2 кнопки закрыть и деактивировать(зеленый крестик) находятся рядом. Если случайно закрыл окно с вкладками или нужную вкладку то не восстановишь. UPDATE. Владислав, это сработает для недавно закрытых вкладок и окон, а если случайно закрыл неактивную (сохраненную) группу или окно, которого за давностью уже нет в истории? Тут поможет только бэкап.
I'm replacing OneTab with this one. It's like switching from an iPhone to a top tier Android. OneTab was cute and super easy to use. Especially because it allows us to do almost nothing. Nothing is easy. Tabs Outliner, on the other hand, gives you the POWER OF THE TAB GODS!!! The things you can do with this are mind-blowing. But there's a catch. It's not fool-proof, and I see a few people complaining in these reviews about things that wouldn't be a problem if they had taken the 15 minutes required to read the instructions and watch the videos. You can do A LOT with this, which means that you can also screw things up a lot if you're an Apple use...sorry, I mean, if you're not intelligent. With great extensions come great responsibility. But after getting the hang of it, I'm not coming back to the previous impotence, ever.
PLEASE UPDATE UI FOR A MORE MODERN LOOKING / FLAT EXPERIENCE; It works really well for backing up your open tabs and clearing system memory, but I really wish we had some more color customization options and I especially would like to be able to change the background texture to a custom monotone color.
Nice, but the fact that every time you close Chrome causes it to added another Window (crashed) into the hierarchy is incredibly annoying
This is the best single piece of software I've used since Netscape got tabs.
Was eager to try this but "download failed due to unknown error" when I tried to install it on Kiwi (Dex mode). Appeared in the browser options, but no action upon clicking. Will change my rating after the devs get it working on Kiwi on Dex.
I have only used the extension for a few days, however I see numerous benefits over Session Buddy, which is the extension I have used previously to save my windows and tabs. Compared to Session Buddy, the main benefit is the Tabs Outliner window which provides very easy access to both windows and tabs. There is also no need to continually save my current environment as this process is effectively automatic i.e. tabs and windows are immediately added, or removed from the Tabs Outliner list. I only gave the extension 4 stars as it states that CTRL + S is used to save a local html copy of the Tabs Outliner window, however this is incorrect. The only way to save is with COMMAND + S. This caused me some frustration while I have read that it has also confused others. Hopefully this error will be corrected in a future release. I have also just realised that CTRL + F is also incorrect, again COMMAND + F is the correct key combination if you wish to search.
I can't live without this extension. This is the best "tree style tabs" solution. It does lack some features, but the backups and the amazing drag-and-drop makes it 90/100 for me. Thanks!
OMG. Game changer. I am a person who regularly has a couple dozen windows and a couple hundred tabs open, despite my regular efforts to keep tab mania contained. Bookmarking everything I want to return to hasn't been a practical solution, because it requires constantly remembering to bookmark things. This extension makes things so easy!! I just use the Tab Outliner window to keep track of everything I have open—I can see the full name of each tab; I can drag and drop them around between windows; I can name those windows (e.g. "couch shopping", "reading material", "links to share", etc) to keep them organized. I can close entire windows while saving all of the links contained therein, to be re-opened later in any combination at any time. I just went from like 20 windows to 2, from like 200 tabs to like 20. Knowing everything else is still saved for whenever I'm ready to revisit it. Seriously. Amazing.
Best in its class.. The freemium model is kinda annoying though, I want to use hotkeys without having to pay for it
App is very useful, but the builder ignores emails, even from paid accounts. no support
I don't know why anyone would say this is a substitute for the great suspender. There's nothing in this tab about suspending, period.
A must for a Chrome tab-hound like me.
Just loved it.. Whenever my Chrome crashed, This extension was the savior.
The only viable way I've found to manage literally thousands of tabs.
So far, I love the paid version of this extension, but there are some features that would make it even better. I'll raise them in the Suggestions section as I think of them. Thanks for all your hard work in developing this useful tool.
I registered with a Microsoft email account. This made it impossible to store tabs configuration since it is only Google accounts that are supported. I have sent numerous email to support to change address, but no response. Storing setting across multiple computers is important. This feature is not working and I have to take the loss since support is not existing. My score is therefore one star
I do like the extension, but I was trying to get it into paid mode and it said Chrome was not logged in. I wrote to the support email over a week ago and didn't get any reply. Is anyone still supporting this?
I guess this is the closest I can get to being able to manage a large amount of tabs without them getting smushed down to infinity. Google is rtarded and can't figure out something so simple as letting you use the scroll wheel to pan through the tab bar or using a drop down menu instead making each tab microscopic... something Firefox has had for ages. The guide for this seems like it was written by and ESL user, there are spelling and grammar mistakes and some of the information provided is outright false (for example there is no "?" button to restore the guide)
No support for paid features in Brave. I found Tabs Outliner after I heard that I should not trust the Great Suspender. Although Tabs Outliner does not exactly serve the same purpose as Great Suspender, it has other features that I have been looking for such as the ability to name windows, which is hugely helpful, since I organize my work on projects and topics by grouping related tabes in different windows. I was so happy with the work going into Tabs Outliner that I decided to pay for the license key and enable the additional features. Sadly, this was not possible on Brave. I keep one Chrome window for the purpose of accessing sites that have trouble with Brave, so I added Tabs Outliner to Chrome just to submit this review. So, thanks so much for your great work producing this valuable extension! As soon as the paid version becomes available on Brave I will be excited to sign up! Until then, thanks for delivering useful functionality in the free version. I think you have the right balance between free and paid version functionality, and the price is quite reasonable. Many companies calibrate these things incorrectly. I think you guys will do great. Best of luck and keep up the good work!
on macbook when you save the window, and close and and open again - all tab are open twice. How could dev make such a stupid bug is misterty for me.
Saved me from a crash on ~300 tabs, that I wouldn't be able to salvage otherwise! Absolute top-notch extension!!
I have yet to find a browser extension that keeps my tabs organized and visible like this one. It is the best of its kind bar none. I have seen some less than stellar reviews, mostly from users who are either unhappy that it doesn't work the way they want it to, or have bugs that they have attributed to this extension. This extension conflicts with some of Chrome's restore features as well as Windows 10 features of a similar nature, it is not the fault of this extension, rather a side effect of it's awesome features, such is life. As a person who keeps 50+ tabs open on occasion this extension is invaluable. Keep up the good work.
This works great so far, only problem is I can't access the paid features since I don't use it on Chrome. I would happily pay to be able to back up my tabs to my computer and to Google Drive, but this functionality doesn't work on Vivaldi, Brave, Opera, New Microsoft Edge, or even Chromium as far as I know. (I've only tested that on Vivaldi and Opera, and others have mentioned Brave. Edge and Chromium are just my assumptions). I don't even need the backup to Google Drive, if you could simply generate a product key or have an account system similar to other web services that have a Sign In with Google/Facebook/Apple/Amazon feature that isn't tied to Chrome to at least allow for local backups this would be a five star product.
You save my life from tab hell!!!
This is a fantastic extension. Great for those people who like to open so many tabs like I do. Best tool to help manage the chaos.
All these years, and still no multi-select...
Magnificent.
Paid for Pro feature that doesn't work, no support response.
