The extension still working I use it since day one, I use it in opera GX but I'm sure it's working in all browsers (opera, chrome, edge...) just don't forget that some extensions need the option "Allow access to search page results" checked, to find this option right click your extension and click manage extension, now look for the option in the menu, after you check the option restart your browser or just refresh your pages, now the extension will work as intended ^^

It was good, but has stopped working recently.

It doesn't seem to work on DuckDuckGo. It seems like it's trying to work ("Search Filter is hiding 62 results"), but the results that I wanted to be filtered out weren't filtered out. The "highlight" and "hide" buttons also do not show up on DuckDuckGo, so I had to manually enter them in and wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I switched to Google and it worked fine. The concept is cool and I love that you can differentiate between websites you want highlighted and websites that you don't want to see at all, but I wish it worked with DuckDuckGo. I'm going to keep looking for an extension that works with DuckDuckGo, but I'll keep this one in mind in case it ever fully supports DuckDuckGo!

Neat concept! Works very well with Google, but currently failing with Bing (it looks like Bing wraps all its search results with a query back to Bing that later redirects to the site). I'd also appreciate an option to "de-emphasize" search results without removing them (perhaps a "-" sign prefix for each entry?) I look forward to continuing to use this!

I adore this extension! (when it works.. it cuts out on me sometimes. I am now allowing error collection)(1/10 it asked me for a sync name & started working again 1/13 then it stopped again.. I need to shut off all my other extensions some time to see if they interfere) News sites behave differently in the amount of ads and paywalls they throw at people. This extension definitely helps save you from going back to sites that just aren't what you are looking for.

Excellent extension, makes it much faster to scan search results. The sync feature is pretty awesome too. Well done!

It removed some of the hyperlinks, but the Google snippets still showed the blocked website results. Runescape.fandom.com was still displaying in the google search snippets even though it was blocked.

sorry mate , dont work. doesnt do a thing . no icons no menus no nothing. i used to have something to do this years ago bt google killed it. i think they done the same to you.

It seems to not allow hiding of sites that be paying for placement. I often search to compare two products. There are many bots sites that suck in my search words and return useless garbage just to get me to click and make them ad money. But these exact domains DO NOT show your 'hide' option. I can only assume they are paying to appear. I need an extension that allows me to blacklist a domain from results.

Being able to filter out domains "sponsored" by google is amazing.

Doesn't work. Doesn't block the search result and then fails to offer option to do so unless you close down chrome and restart it.

Finally I found what I was looking for. Update: Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. There are no highlight and hide buttons anymore. Doesn't highlight anything and doesn't filter anything. So sad.

4 Stars because it worked flawlessly the last time i used it, but now i am on a new installation and i think it can't sync with my old installation's settings and endlessly puts "failed to sync, retrying in 15 sec", can't remember my old password but since it only behaves like this with this exact password i'm assuming it's the right one.

Please add a keyword option too not only domain names but keywords too.

First of all, just wanted to say that I LOVE this extension, I used it for ages back when I actually used Google... Then I started using DuckDuckGo and unfortunately you did not provide support for it at that time so I regretfully stopped using it.. Jump forward to now, I am using Startpage nowadays because it uses Google's superior search results without Google's invasive tracking. For some time I have been putting up with occasional bad results until just now when one pushed me enough to search for the glory that was/is this extension but for Startpage... Does not exist as far as I can tell though sadly :.(.... Would you be willing to add Startpage support? It is virtually the exact same as Google... Looking forward to good news :), otherwise keep up the excellent work.

Can't find a link to file a bug, but this extension doesn't appear to work on the current version of the Google Search results page.

Works, but is lacking two features: Regular Expressions, and filtering out the domains from Ads too. Example: Search for "sting tour 2020". I don't want to see anything from viagogo, not in the Ads, and not from any of their .ie, .co.uk, .be and whatnot domain...

Its great. Super simple, exactly what I was looking for.

This extension is very helpful. For Taiwanese, many of us search in Traditional Chinese and don't like any web content from China (which comes in Simplified Chinese). However, Google NEVER listen to our needs and NEVER help us filter out those content. You just help us in a pretty simple and efficient way. Nice work!

Works exactly as described. Brilliant way to stop sites you never want but always see in the search results.

Doesn't actually work. Just lets you set permissions for what sites it can read results on, there's no actual way to open and customize your filters.

Only rating because I can't ask a question without doing so. I can highlight search results with + but can't seem to filter out any results. I have tried different combinations of # SPAM, -, spacing and anything else I can think of. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! P.S. I'd gladly give this Extension 5 stars if the filter out function works.

Helpful in filtering out notoriously garbage websites from search results. Google abandoned their version but this one works better.

Broken. When i open toolbar button, it just blinks endlessly. Doesn't work.

The extension is greyed out and so is the Options menu on my Google Pixelbook. I can't add any sites to the extension rendering it worthless.

Could not add any search criteria, which is the whole purpose of this extension! I guess it's just to put another icon in your bar to look pretty?

Works amazing. By far the best search filter extension you can have. You can have multiple search profiles to which makes it possible to hide or highlight different sites depending on what you are looking for. It saves a ton of time when you can avoid specific sites that might sit high in results from traffic and SEO optimizations.

I tested and it works very well and as intended! except I really, really wanted it for image searches. In particular I want to forever exclude Pinterest from my searches. But this extension doesn't work on image search. As it is right now it's not very useful to me. Would the developer be willing to extend its reach to image search? pretty please! Help me never see that cancerous website ever again.

So close to giving this extension 5 stars-- it's fantastic. I can finally filter out the sites I don't like while highlighting the best results available for me. Google's search engine almost makes this extension mandatory. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars? I wish I could also filter image results! Edit: This extensions hasn't been working for the past month and keeps returning 404s. Will it be up again someday? I'm DYING to blacklist pinterest again.

It unnecessarily runs on all webpages instead of just Google's search page. It also keeps a messaging port open to the extension's background which defeats the purpose of chrome event pages. Even worse is that its filtering method relies on a continuous interval instead of DOM events.

Simple and works perfectly. If there are problems with sync why not have an option to save prefs locally ? It's not a big deal to save all domains in a text file and copy paste them across if I lose sync, it would be nice if it did it automatically. Also needs a button to easily toggle on and off.

works ok, pretty difficult to enter a recipe that matches some domains -- also, raises jquery exception on all pages now (uses ancient jquery 1.4.2 btw)

Works really great - I hate googling without it. But as previously mentioned, it does lose your list sometimes. Update: ALWAYS loses my list when syncing.

Can not even get to configuring a list. After entering sync information, it gets stuck at "loading..."

Effective and simple. Please add at least one additional category - I would be keen to identify : "Orange" sites, that I trust to differentiate from "Sites I don't know"(Leave white at the bottom) and which I would check for Antimalware/Spam before visiting using WOT, AVG, Norton and McAfee

EDITED - THIS APPEARS TO BE WORKING AGAIN WITH NO CHANGES. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE NEW CHROME UPDATE WHICH CORRECTED.
