I used this extension for years with no problems, but now that chrome has a "Share This Page" link in the address bar, the extension is redundant.
it works fast
Great addition to pad out missing (and obvious) functionality in Chrome. One minor point. Would be nice to install with mailto:// protocol as the default. Thank you for the work. Much appreciated.
I have used this for years with no problems...
Superb extension. This functionality should be included in every browser. FEATURE SUGGESTION: Many URLs contain metadate information at the end of the URL, after the question mark (“?”). This metadata typically contains info such as the source from where the user clicked the URL, or other information which is superfluous when sharing the link with someone else. In some cases, this metadata info could potentially even reveal info about the sharer of the info. My request is to add an option to your extension to strip away all unnecessary metadata information characters in the shared link which are to the right of, and including, the question mark. Here’s an example of the original URL, including the unnecessary metadata as of the question mark and everything to the right of it: • https://www.coolblue.be/nl/mobiele-telefoons/smartphones/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra?cmt=c_a,cid_12058654079,aid_118027144522,tid_aud-918309158136 And this is what it should become, the URL to share via your extension to e-mail: • https://www.coolblue.be/nl/mobiele-telefoons/smartphones/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra Thanks for considering my request.
Exactly what I needed. Supports all the major email targets. Nicely done!
Works so much better than the native Send from Gmail (by Google) app - LMFAO
It was working perfectly, but lately it will not send links as clickable. I've tried removing and reinstalling but nothing fixes the issue. It's a shame as it was a great extension.
Used to work perfectly and then it stopped around the time of Catalina (however, I did not upgrade to it because my computer is too old for it so that may have something to do with it). Not sure why it would, though, if other extensions continued to work without a problem
Great extension. But it hasn't caught up with the Outlook.com and Office 365 new web version. Still using old mailbox to share link. Please consider changing it. Thanks.
works - just added to microsoft edge 2020
Best extension to send a link to a web page via the preferred mail app.
Works great for me using AOL webmail.
simple - does what it says i use for my gmail
June 2018 Really like this, but it stopped bringing up my contacts. From other reviews I suspect that is due to changes in Chrome. August 2019 Old Chromebook dies. Went looking for this on a new CB, not knowing the name. Difficult to find in the store, but tried some others while doing so. None are as good as this one.
Works beautifully with Gmail. It does just what it claims to do - allows you to share a URL via email. Too bad Chrome doesn't offer a "share" option automatically. Kind of weird.. Anyway, thanks!
I'm an avid sender of links to a whole variety of things on the internet - so this is really useful - when I want to email something. Brilliant! Works like a dream.
that's exactly what i was looking for
Please add protonmail as one of the choices. Thx.
Works great! Wish it would use my email client instead of a web service but it is better that using the default email client that came with Mac OS X.
This stopped working for me with the most recent version of Mojave. Is it obsolete? 32-bit?
a new Does what it is supposed to do, with one exception. If Gmail is the client and "Open as new window" is selected sending a link opens a new tab, not a window.
one of the only ones that you can control which way it's mailed, default mail program, gmail aol mail etc. AND it let's you control the message subject, Prefill the to address, and body of email before and after the link in default optins.
WORKS PERFECTLY!!!! I have been very grumpy/angry for months about Chrome's missing Right Click > Send Link option. I ran across this add-in, and I could not be happier. It literally took 5 seconds to install, did not require a browser or windows restart, and works perfectly with Outlook on Windows. In addition to the new right click option, there's also a new button to the right of the address bar that has the same email option. Yea!!!!
This is a great app. It allows Chrome to do one of the basic things that the Microsoft Edge browser does right out of the box, but... When choosing Outlook.com, it opens a link to a deprecated version of Outlook. It needs to be updated as the recent beta version went to mainstream release. and... When opening an new email, it just drops an anchor tag (i.e. link) and that's about it. Many apps will create a small teaser frame showing a photo and title of the page that we're sending. Outlook.com does that for example. These two improvements would make it five stars.
Great app, does what as it name. Simple and easy to use.
Might be a Linux thing but it stopped working on one of my computers. Re-installing didn't correct problem Other computer still works, one computer uses Peppermint Linux other uses LXLE (working) both use Thunderbird mail client
Well done. I only use it with the Default mail Client setting and it works perfectly.
I used to have this extension and for no obvious reason it stopped working; have just deleted it from my chromebook and reinstalled from scratch; all well again, and it finds my outlook contacts too with no problem
Well done, well done. Works like I want it to by opening email with the link to the site I'm sharing.
EDIT 17 March 2018: for some reason it now only works if I have "All Email Senders" selected. End of edit. Right now it's the only extension like this that works with Chrome and Outlook... something changed in Chrome that stopped other simpler extensions from working. This one does take some extra clicks, and leaves one with an empty frame that must be closed, but it works, and I like that it's configurable. It would be even better if it would include highlighted text from the page you wish to send. I'm still searching for the perfect mail sender: click once and it starts an email with my default mail client with the title of the page as the subject, the highlighted text included in the message body in quotes, followed by "From:" and the URL. This extension is pretty close.
Recently stopped working with Outlook.com. Now just opens the site without preparing an email.
It just works using Outlook 2013. Thanks
What's not to love about this extension? It adds a basic functionality (that has been in IE and Firefox for years) to Chrome. It's also very customizable which I love. I use Outlook (Office Professional Plus 2013) and it works perfectly.
Really tidy program, sends via Outlook or Gmail (or other) easily, and works fine with Vivaldi.
Simple and great.
Works exactly as described and exactly as it should when using my default mail client (Thunderbird). It is small, lightweight, fast, and directly to the point. Nice options too!
Works great with thunderbird email client... :)
It was working well with Outlook.com email until I tried their new Beta. It only opened the Inbox and not a new message for the tab I wanted to send by email. :(
Seems great for gmail browser in Chrome and I'm not asked to join something.
does not work any more???????
It works with office 2016 on win 10. So that's all I wanted.
Worked fine for several months. Then it just quit working.
just added, seems to work fine
I was working well with Outlook Mac, but not anymore. Please fix!
It work on default email client, unlike others. Thanks
Was working great. Now it just stopped, I can't even open options page!
doesn't work with default mail (Outlook 2016)
Works for outlook.com but not for MS Outlook clients (i.e., corporate email via Outlook)
Sucks. How do you put the page title into email subject line?
Works great
Finally one that works in Win 10. Thanks!
Works well, even with Chrome where other send mail extensions failed. Opens mailto-link in new tab and at the same time opens write-window in mail program (I'm using Thunderbird). Thanks!
Did not work.
Love that you can have boilerplate text/format for emails, but I don't understand why this extension only sometimes works. Using built in Mail app with latest version of Chrome on MacBook Air, macOS Sierra
works!
Works VERY WELL, EVEN after the latest WIN10 updates...Good work, developers!
Not working on Outlook
;) Well done. Works very well.
Brilliant, it's about the only one that works consistently. Well done.
After trying out several extensions, this is the only one that works with Outlook! Just be sure you select open in a new window in the extension options. Annoying to have to close a blank tab, but worth the trouble. Thanks!
Really marginal, that said, I think I've tried them all, and this is the best. Lags and for some reason opens another page that I need to shut down. I don't get it - this seems like such a simple thing, so how hard could it be?
Not working (windows or Mac OS).
I really like this, but I wish the icon in my toolbar were more visible! It is a VERY faint grey-blue color, and very hard to see. Is this changeable somewhere in options?
Does not support desktop versions of Outlook.
Didn't work for me with Outlook. Never opened an email message.
So far works as described. When only one email type is selected, works as one-click button...great! Also lets you set default before and after link text...so you can set the email message up to automatically be like this: ------------------------ Hey check this out... http://linkhere.com/ - Your Name ------------------------
Works intermittently.
On occasion it doesn't work. Maybe Thunderbird stops working with it, maybe it doesn't like sending the same link again? When it works it is great......
Works for me with Thunderbird. For Thunderbird only, go into options and only select "Default email client" under Email Sender Selection.
I have it working with outlook 2010. I chose default e-mail client. One change I would like to see is not opening another empty tab every time I click on it.
Works fine for me
Rarely ever works. Every now and then it might work but completely undependable.
Does not work for me.
Doesn't work. Nothing happens.
Nice features compared to similar extensions. BUT, it does not work any more. I click, and nothing happens. If I select "new tab" it works, but it opens an empty tab along with Thunderbird. Needs work.
It works for my needs: Gmail and Outlook installed on my machine. For Outlook, I had to choose "default email client" under Open New Window.
Your icon could benefit from a color change. The menu bar in Chrome is grey and there is not enough contrast to see your icon.
It's exactly what I wanted. Sure, I had to play with the options to get it to use my Outlook (program) without opening an additional tab. Now, I just right-click and there is my one option: Send page via Email. It opens an Outlook email message - formatted with my message template. I add the recipient and click: Send. Great! Thanks!
Update - it's working great!
doesnt work
Pretty good. My one complaint is that it should allow you one click to send the link/email - instead of the two choice menu coming up. Annoying extra step! Also, the settings - esp. re: adding lines, etc. - are not intuitive and need explanation.
The only email extension (for sending via default mail program) that works now that stupid Google updated and broke chrome.
Requires two mouse clicks to pop open an email instead of one (needlessly). The toolbar is barely visible. Whoever wrote this clearly understands software engineering and usability about as well as the average house plant.
It works but, when activated, it also opens a new blank tab!
doesnt work surface 3 dont use outlook
need to also send highlighted text in the email body
It doesn't work
This is what I am looking for.
when u click on email this page it opens a new blank window and the person doesn't get the link if you're using Outlook. Also, I see no way to delete it.
So simple yet so useful! Thank you.
It says that it's compatible with my device but when I right click on a page I want to email the link to, it doesn't show "Share page via email" or Share anything at all. Frustrating!
Disappointing that it is not able to open and create a new e-mail message using Outlook 2013. It only works via web mail services.
Wonderful - works great! Can now send page via email just by 'right' clicking on the page you wish to send. Thank you!!
Does what it says. Nice additional features, like lines before/after URL. Page title in subject.
Fab! Only extension that puts webpage title as subject when sharing by email
Love this tool, it used to be already built into the browser, at least in Fire Fox. Most people now just share it on Facebook or Twitter which is fine, but there are still a lot of folks that aren't really into either, and that don't check it very often.
Small, fast and efficient. Great little program for quickly sending a web page URL to an email address.
Doesn't work with Thunderbird client on Ubuntu
Finaly! You can choose which webmail or mail client you will use!
Great with Gmail! I particularly like the extended options such as inserting blank lines before the link URL.
