It does make things louder but without any distortion correction whatsoever. So the green part of the bar is a lie it should be red the whole way through.

The sound boosting is okay, but when I have the booster active I can't enter full screen on youtube. I'd recommend fixing it so me and other people can do the same

Worked as a volume booster. Creates a dialog box on YouTube to use F11 to go full screen but doesn't work. Can't go full screen while using the extension.

Makes you press F11 to use fullscreen. Why would you change a basic functionality of youtube? You had one job.

Works as advertised. I did have to toggle it off and on to get it to work the first time, but that could have been user error. Opening up a new page, let's say YT, it didn't immediately boost the audio. After I went to another page, pressed turn off, and went back to the YT page it worked. If you're having issues, you may want to play around with turning it off and back on.

Must have to boost quiet streams. It does require an extra click to go full-screen but every volume-boost extensions i tried also have this problem so it must be a chrome limitation not fault of this plugin

This extension does turn up the volume on videos but when I tried it it also distorted the audio a lot which basically makes it unusable for me because I can not stand the sound of the distortion.

OK, like most volume boosters breaks "Full Screen" in Videos PRO: +Boost volume good CON: -Need start & reset each tab to use --Breaks use of "full screen" on video playback. Image increases, but Tabs & Windows still show ---Cannot reset to "100" or turn off, which should allow proper "full screen"

Kind of garbage. It does boost the volume when it works. Sometime it only works after you turn it of and back on. It also screws with full screen for some stupid reason. There are better options out there. Don't use this.

Thank you, I dgaf about the distortion tbf, This is awesome, I'm using it on my headphones and even though it's not quite the same clarity as my TB headphones with a headphone amp, it's noice !! again N1 ;)

Works okay if you only need to use it on a single tab at a time, but to switch which tab you want to boost you have to turn it off and back on again on the tab you are on. Would be better if you could boost each tab individually.

Heads up, doesnt work for every device. Used it on both my laptops. Works well on the other however on my other laptop, once boosted, the music/sound appears choppy and unstable.

Close but not good. Boosts the volume well, although loud noises can distort heavily. MASSIVE issue is it prevents Fullscreen, which for me defeats the whole purpose of boosting streaming that I'm watching.

theres a website i used to watch anime but they have the volume turned way down on the videos and even though i have the volume cranked to 100% its still hard to hear what they are saying. but this extension boosted the volume in chrome and now im able to hear it much clearer. but the full screen function is a bit odd and would prefer to have a toggle if i want to use that feature or not.

Works as expected. It is useful when your sound hardware has low volume and you watch a quite video. So you turn the volume at max and it is still low because the video is very quite. In this case there is still available range for the volume and it will not distort the sound. If you expect to boost the volume when there is no available range then you will get distorted sound, it is how sound works, its not an extension problem. Minus star because of ugly UI and another because of the strange and annoying dialog when you try to enter the full screen mode.

simple enough to quickly boost tab's volume, however too simple that this doesn't remember last boost level therefore every time activated it return back to default boost level, would like to see this small feature being implemented.

Pros: - I does work, everyone who says it doesn't has not restarted their whole PC or Laptop - Makes harder to hear videos better (Captions is a better option) Cons: - It makes videos buffer sometimes (Or at least makes them sound like it) - Audio at higher levels will be distorted heavily (Which means you should avoid the 1000% and stick with lower amounts barely above the 100-200 range) - Takes the place of Picture in Picture so fullscreen videos will not work and you cant use Picture in Picture Overall it did what it said it would do but I would suggest not bothering with it and just using captions or if you're desperate enough buy some speakers or headphones maybe? Headphones make it easier to hear things and a cheaper option as long as you don't keep breaking them like me haha

This is not an application, it's a totally useless piece of junk. I had tried increasing the volume, and nothing happened. You better remove this from the WebStore, before I report this app for being a fraud.

Works on both my HP (Win10) and Asus (Win11) laptops it will overdrive the speakers but at a lower setting it works great ! My bluetooth speakers were already cranking but now there blasting ! Only thing I really REALLY hate is you can't watch fullscreen video unless you click on OK, then press F11 (and FN !) after going full screen...why ? That is a really strange "feature" and is extremely annoying and makes no sense to me.

For those saying it "didn't work" I immediately restarted after installing and it works. Be careful not to blow out your speakers, you will hear distortion immediately, but the sound is much louder. The most annoying thing about this extension, and the reason why I will be deleting this as soon as my speakers arrive, is the fact you CANNOT WATCH MOVIES, YOUTUBE, OR ANY STREAMING SITE IN FULL SCREEN MODE. There is a popup that you cannot turn off that says to "Press 'F11' for fullscreen", but it only turns off the extension and makes it stop working.

It works, but it makes the audio low quality. But if you don't mind that then it is a good alternative.

it works yes but i fail to see how a sound booster prevents me from fullscreening i just dont see the connection.. also f11 is not fullscreening its just zoomed in a lil because it hides everything at the top of the page

Works, as other say it can over drive your speakers. Don't try to push the volume up too high, you may also need to turn down when you hear distortion, when playing louder audio. On windows 10 I found different if more limited method that helps boost the low volume part of audio for me with less risk to speakers. Help with watching films on old built in laptop speakers Sounds-> Playback -> Speaker > Properties > Enhancements -> Check - Loudness Equalisation then Apply

A very good extension that saves me from having to buy a physical volume booster. However, one thing that constantly annoys me, is that everytime I try to take the video to full screen, a pop up window telling me to press F11 to go to full screen would always appear. No matter how many times I click on the "Don't tell me again" box, every time I turn on the extension and try to go to full screen, this annoying pop-up will always appear without fail. That's why I give this 4 stars instead of 5.

My work speakers suck. All the volume is on 10 and I still couldn't hear it. This was exactly what I was looking for. Yes, at some point I'll order good speakers. This quick fix was nice tho.

I think that this sound booster is AMAZING! It works really well, and I love using it to distort songs, The only problem is not being able to use it on other browsers like Firefox, Opera, Microsoft edge, etc.

Very good extension, does what it's supposed to do very well. Sadly other people who have downloaded this extension are not aware of what happens when you go over the limit of your own hardware, or hat happens to the quality when you louden it to much. When using this extension, make sure to test it on the lowest setting and then gradually move your way up as to avoid breaking your speakers on your headsets. Do not go careless and just dive in without checking the water first and then blame the creators for it despite it being your own mistake. Secondly, the audio quality really will lower if when you turn it up too much, that's normal. That is really what happens when you turn up the audio of anything, it will go down in quality similar to how zooming into photos makes them look blurry. As long as you don't increase the volume too far, you will likely not notice any change in audio quality. Also, afaik the extension does not mine crypto. I can't read code, but other reviewers debunked it by looking at it's 50 line source code. And in terms of RAM usage, it's not that high compared to most of my extensions.

I was watching anime and could barely hear it, installed this and at 100% it is too loud! but of course it has a volume adjuster. This works very well.

force you to to keep keybord with you. if i am using this then i cant click and go full screen. it only allow to go video fullscreen only by pressing f11 and i dont like it.

Turns up volume, but the slider barely works. The "dot" changes it's spot often, making it louder or quieter without my permission.

Does the job but the increased volume focuses a lot on BGM and little on the actual dialogues, forcing me to reduce the volume considerably when any music is playing, and then immediately increasing it when dialogues follow the music. Not super convenient if you're bingeing movies or series.

Best browser tab sound booster available. Especially useful is the turn on and off button, many other extensions are missing it and you need to exit the tab for the booster to turn off.

This thing is nuts I have a fancy pants Samsung - Galaxy 13.3" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Chromebook. Only problem really is listening to movies, volume is criminally low. Volume Booster completely solves this problem and then some. I have been looking for months to find a solution to my Samsung 4k Chromebooks' low movie volume and this is definitely it. Thanks Dev! I would love it, if I could figure out what an ok boost level is for my computer and then limit the extension to that. The highest levels are way to much. Reason why i like this one especially is you can use the same extension to turn it off, with a big button. Other ones get activated and then all websites seem off not sure why.

Used this app pretty often and now it doesn't work on the newest Chrominium version. Will update rating when it's fixed.

Does the job it describes pretty much as well as you could want, however there are a couple nitpicks I have with it. It lacks any sort of config: being able to choose a starting volume and being able to toggle off the "F11 to fullscreen" reminder. These would be two things that'd move this to a perfect extension for me.

if the actual extension didnt auto close or if when it did that it still worked when you clicked on it i would totally give this extension 5 stars but sadly it was very glitchy. unless you stay on said tab you open it on you are literally gambling if it will lag or just stop working all together. if i could i would rate 2.5 stars because it has potential but not worth getting as of now

Works great, but I've found a small bug. If you close a tab with the extension active and switch to a new tab then trying to activate it will bring up the little menu but not activate the extension. This can be fixed by pressing the turn off button then clicking it again so it isnt bad, just thought I'd report it.

this 1000000000% contains malware/spyware. not only will Chrome detect it and warn you, but if you try to make a google search, it will redirect you to some 'vboostaccess' search through yahoo. I wouldn't bother writing this review otherwise, but please learn from me, save the headache and find a different volume booster

It was amazing, i have a noisy family, even when im alone in my room with the fan on i cant hear youtube, it was great to be able to hear youtube finally!

Just installed it. Windows 10 laptop. Doesn't work. Checked all sound settings and included all sound enhancements. Still nothing.
