This extension is now malware. I was wondering why all my searches were being redirected to Yahoo. I reset Chrome, re-enabled the extensions that I know I use, and it was still happening. So I disabled these extensions one by one, and found out that it was this one. By the way, I forgot to back up and lost my nearly 2 year old Cookie Clicker save when I reset Chrome. Thanks, bastard. Rot in hell.

Yep, turned into malware. If you use Enhancer for youtube there's an option there for the same function as this in the shortcuts tab.

The extension itself is good but I would stay away from using this until the dev explains the change in permissions. Looking into the linked repository, it looks like the repo was suddenly taken over by a new author that had no development work in any of the codebase. Furthermore, 11 days ago, the public repo along with 3 others were suddenly updated formerly stating it was in a "no longer updated state" to something that is now being maintained.
Why the new permission?

Exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd wish is for an icon added to the page so I don't have to do this from the extensions bar.
Fun fact: If youtube is blocked cause of microsoft family feature, download this extension, right click a youtube link via google, and choose to open with floating player to watch the video unblocked.

I used to love it very much. However, it stop working recently. It only work when I click on the YouTube native ''miniplayer'' first (and click on the app). Hope it can be fixed soon.

Im so glad something like this exists Edit: as of 1/9/22 the extension doesn't work until you refresh the page (when you click it from youtube the 1st time it doesn't work until you refresh [even queues]) Edit: 1/13/22 I am saddened to say that the new google chrome update now has this (well on mine it does) Though I have not tested this with other sites than youtube so its still good for twitch and others!!
just rating it like this for now, i think its bugging for me right now? ive reinstalled it and restarted my computer but its not working, all my other plugins are fine. i dont know where to report this

This tool is exactly what I needed. I had switched to Opera for this, but I missed Chrome so much because of the way it looks. So I installed this extension, and it works as good as that! In fact, I'm using it right now while writing this review, and I love this extension. Just a couple of things missing though: one can only pause the video from the pop-up and nothing else. At least the video progress bar is a necessity for this extension, and I hope to see it in any future updates. Other than that, this is all you could've wished for in a picture-in-picture extension: lossless audio and video, support for pause and play, can be played even with Chrome minimized, and just about everything else.
literally just what u want. this simple thing has impressed me widely. i am amazed in its utilisation applications. more people should get this extension. works on many sites too.
Good work! But It auto rotates the video so that it opens the Portrait video as Landscape on some video sites. i.e. https://mixch.tv/ I hope I can switch it back to Portrait.

Does its job, i just wish the subtitles would still work when its on small screen. I couldnt read subtitles to the anime im watching which are basically all i watch so its not that beneficial for me
For anyone switching from a browser with built in Picture-in-Picture features, this is the extension to get. It works exactly like the PiP function for Firefox, and I have so far not encountered any issues. Well coded.

woahh!!!! THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!! i recommend :) - you can resize the video - very functional - you only need to click the extension then the video will play in picture - can pause and unpause the video

This extension is amazing. A cool thing is that it can work with websites other than youtube. Like Google Docs or whatever.
its great but for me sometimes when I resize the window too big the player like disappears from my screen for some reason and the only way to get it back is to close the player and reopen it

Currently not working with Facebook's new interface. Everthing else is working fine. Waiting for a fix.
I Love this extension ! Works while playing a game (like Minecraft) ! Not in Fullscreen though there isn't a way around it right ? When the next episode starts (on Joyn.de for example) it doesn't refresh and there is just a black screen.

Running on Windows 7, HP ProBook. Haven't had any of the issues other people are having. Installed, worked instantly (with Netflix) without even having to restart my browser. Cool!

Subtitle doesn't work, it shows subtitle in original window than in mini window even after setting is enabled.
I need a pop-out player for my workflow. It's just really convenient. I love it. Works perfectly! Using on Brave Browser. Sadly Brave doesn't have a built-in pop-up player.
It's good, but why can't I resize it larger? It's too small.

Updating my review. I love it. works pretty much all video sites. no conflict for chrome. works great with an ultrawide monitor. Wishlist some control for scanning the video playing so i don't have to return to the original window to rewind. Good job on the extension.

I'm amazed there are so many strange problematic reviews for this extension. It works beautifully and it is simple. All I want is a video down in the corner so that I can browse other tabs or minimise my browser and this does it with one button click. It is incredible that more people haven't installed this yet.

Tried it with twitch and after about a minute it just lags a bit and switches the stream quality to 360p..
it would be great if you guys add subtitle to this extension without subtitle it is annoying to watch other language movies.
