I can't say enough good about ProKey! It saves me hours everyday. I have so many snippets that I'm amazed I can remember them all, but it is so much better than typing everything out each time. Thank you, ProKeys creators!!

basic text expander,but less function.

Hi, One of the best extension i have used till date. It has saved lot hrs of copy-paste-edit I recommend everyone to watch introduction video and help sections. It will show all usecases

Prokeys not working 10/8/22. I love Prokeys so much! It makes me so much more efficient at my job, saving me the time of copying and pasting or retyping similar messages. It has worked wonderfully the last two years. Today, the extension button is not working for me to add a new shortcut. The previously created shortcuts are still working, but I needed to make a new one. I hope this can be fixed quickly!

I work in customer support and spend my day writing emails. If it was not for this extension, I would have given up on my job, I love it, it works like a charm and I can't live without it! It is amazing and I am currently working to implement it as an official company tool. Thank you so so much for your work!

This is absurd! Prokeys deleted all my snippets, that I collected and created for 7 months! No explanation, no help, no assistance. They just delete everything and leave you cope with it. In this day and age where everything is replicated many times in the cloud this is simply unacceptable for a modern day company! I would lea 0 Stars if I could.

Lists do not keep their format! I created a snippet that resolves to a bulleted list, with sub lists, but when I insert the snippet, or switch from the styled textbox to the standard text area, the list goes back to a single list, without the sublists

I've had major problems with this extension. HotKeys do not work on Chromebooks which is very frustrating. I've also had my customized snippets deleted several times.

A nice tool but is not doing the job. I created 10 templates, which only 3 worked. For an unknown reason the other 7 disappeared, and everyday I need to create a new one. Very time consuming to be honest.

I've used this for some math homework involving lots of repetitive LaTeX. Worked great!

Enjoy using the extension, with the occasional hic-ups that follow. Were select fields on select web-sites is configured in such a way, ProKeys will not work when writing inside them (e.g. writing a review of the extension in Chrome Webstore). Alas, this is not due to the extension itself, but rather the website, per my understanding. :) Still use it a lot. Especially as a simple drop-in 'template engine' when writing e-mails and ticket replies. With pre-defined replies formatted to my needs. :+1: /Chriztoffer

It doesn't save the snippets I created.

Doesn't work consistently with salesforce. I have to refresh my page 2-3 times just to get the extension to work. Love it, but it's too frustrating to use.

When it works it is really great. Just save a backup of your config. I had to uninstall and reinstall it 2 times in the last month. Not sure why it is happening.

This is by far the easiest to use, and functionally robust text productivity tool I have ever come across. It has been a thrill to see this extension progress though different stages. I recommend this extension to literally everyone who browses the internet for more than 3 minutes a month. My boss and coworkers love it just as much as I do now.

I use this every day in my job and it is a fantastic timesaver for me! Thanks to the developer for creating this and the ongoing work with pushing updates and fixes! :-)

very usefull

I just want to say thanks. I found ProKeys a couple of years ago, my first year as an eLearning teacher. Teaching online, I find the need to provide a lot of textual feedback to students, yet I also find myself saying the same things over and over again. ProKeys allows me to, with less effort, give more feedback and more support to my students. You actually allow me to do my job better in less time. By now, I have a library of over four hundred snippets that I use daily. I appreciate it, and my students do as well, not to mention all the colleagues I have shown it to. I wish you all the best in your work, and I thank you again for all you have done.

Good extension, but they really need to stop making it pop up every time I run Chrome. It needs to stay in the background until I open it. Update 7/30/2019 - Adding a star because the developer responded to my comment above and indeed the pop-ups stopped immediately afterward. I think there were just several updates in quick succession. This is a very useful extension.

This one of the best extensions of chrome saves me alot of time with my work!!!

Great resource for providing students written feedback in a quick, manageable way. If you've never tried grading 150 essays and leaving useful feedback for each student, take it from me, this app is an absolute life saver!

This extension has been a huge asset to efficiency and simplification. In my role at work I often times have to type out the same thing in multiple locations so to have this has save me SOOO much time. I have referred several colleagues to this and I think it has been just as beneficial for them as it has been for me. Absolutely love it!

I have to re-import my prokeys ALL OF THE TIME. I will literally send an email using my prokeys AFTER importing them first thing in the morning like I have to do every day. Once I send the email and I'm on to the next, I try certain prokeys and they don't work and I have to import again. Seems like such a dumb issue that's easy to fix yet here we are. I shouldn't have to go through all my files and import my prokeys every time I compose an email.

When I first installed the plugin, it was good (maybe 3.5 stars), it had a couple of bugs that did not prevent from working, but were annoying. I am happy to says that just in the last couple weeks the plugin has been updated twice fixing the few bugs that were jumping out at me. I'm not saying that it is bug free, but it is an extremely helpful plugin and considering the cost, I give it 5 stars.

I am recovering from a strokes and cannot type with my left hand. I loaded this extension yesterday and can already tell how useful it will be. Is there a version that works in other apps (gedit/notepad, terminal...etc)?

This is exactly what I needed for work when filling out repetitive information. Much better than a clipboard manager. I just abbreviate what I need and hit shift space, or whatever you program it to hit and it puts my information in , including date and times! Thank you developer!

Overall the extension works but there are a lot of little "bugs". The "bugs" that I have found do not prevent the extension form working, but they do make it harder to use the extension. For example setting up the hotkey, many keys do not seem to be recognized and the reported hotkey differs from what is set. I set my hotkey to "Shift+/" ProKey says my hotkey os "Shift + ¿". Again, it does not prevent the extension from running it is just annoying. This is just one example of the many I have found.

I love this extension. I tend to have to type the same sort of things over and over. So recording them as keystrokes helps save me tons of time.

This extension is by far one of the BEST extensions I have ever used. I am a fairly powerful user and I use this extension every day to boost productivity. It works flawlessly and the team behind it are professional and prompt in replying to questions or concerns. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who misses hotkeys on windows. I have entire email templates saved, quick responses, subject lines, date stamps etc. I used to use gmail's canned responses but ProKeys is FAR SUPERIOR! I can't recommend it enough. There isn't anything I have found it can't do. Thank you ProKeys!

Mostly a very good plug in. It's very handy and saves a lot of time! Just a few snags, like unable to delete or modify some snips, make the organization a little frustrating. But overall, a very good tool!

Tried multiple text substitution programs that did not work. This program has worked flawlessly for me with intensive use for over a year

This saves me a lot of typing! As a small business owner, I'm often emailing the same things over and over again to clients, so this helps automate my most popular sentences. I use the same shortcuts that I use as "text replacement" on the iPhone, so it makes it easy to reply to emails on both computer and phone.

Thanks to your new update the extension is not working anymore. Well it is but it wont post macros even tho the right hotkeys are assigned...

honestly so helpful for work! A little tricky to navigate when creating the shortcuts but just such a good app. Would recommend to all .

I LOVE ProKeys! I do a lot of repetitive email and live chat processing and this app saves me a lot of time. With the new updates to ProKeys v3.5.1, it's now even better!!! I'm looking forward to the new 4.0 UI.

This is an excellent extension that has saved me a lot of time. For example, I am using Google Keep as a quick note-taking app and it works well despite its limitations; however, there are no visible date-time stamps on the notes that I can use to sort and search the content. And Google has yet to offer users an easy way filter the notes using their hidden metadata. I solved this to my satisfaction by making a custom date-time-stamp snippet e.g. [[%d(YYYY-MM-D)]]-[[%d(h:m a)]] . I simply add this info into to new notes, which adds lots of value to Google Keep for me. A big thank you goes out to the to the developers.

Just loved it..!! Can define it this way : One word for < 1.Search earlier texts | 2.Copy | 3.Paste > in a much more convenient and time-efficient way. Great work..!! Keep it up.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it just doesn't.

I only use it in text fields so it fits my needs perfectly. It was easy to set up and sync worked for me flawlessly. There are only two suggestions I can think of that can improve on it even more: options for case sensitivity and options for multiple hotkeys. I currently use the space bar as my hotkey since I use the extension as a text replacer or expander, but I would absolutely love it if it allowed me to trigger snippets using punctuation like periods, commas, parentheses, etc.

Update January 2019: Still using this extension daily and it is becoming more and more useful over time as I make more shortcuts. The developer keeps updating occasionally with new features. Please try it and if you are already using it, consider donating. We need to support hard working developers that offer their work up for free. Very helpful extension. A few tips for anyone having trouble (these helped me): 1. Go to the ProKey's settings, then click help and test in the text box on that page. 2. Note that after you type a shortcut, you hold shift and press teh space bar to expand it. 3. If you still have trouble, disable your other extensions and check again. At first, I didn't realize that the hotkey for expansion was shift-space. Then I found that I had a less useful extensions that was conflicting with ProKeys. All is working great now and I think this will be an important part of my daily use. Thanks Aquila Softworks!

The hotkey wont work in several environments. not very useful in most cases.(logging in, the url bar). good for Email. I have been using Apple's version that works everywhere but chrome?

I have had a really difficult time with this extension. Folders will not set up correctly, I cannot get it to sync between computers, at first the html was working now it does not. I type in textarea mode and it switches it immediately to style pushing out my images/videos. The potential is great but it seems really buggy to me. I tried contacting the developer through email with no response. I really want this to work.

Quite awesome and extremely useful. I love the internal calculations which allow you to insert time and dates for a different time zone or in the future. Such a timesaver. I use it all day long in my online job.

It adds (bracket ends) and quote ends "this" without notice. Which causes some web forms to go crazy. This should be OFF by default.

This plugin works great for me in Salesforce. There was a bug last week that prevented usage in Salesforce, but the developer (Gaurang) fixed it within a couple days. Amazing support for a free product! Thank you!

This does mostly what it says, and works reasonably well, but has some bugs and the author has no way to contact or report. The "Auto-insert" character pairs is always on, despite being unchecked. That's my only real complain, but it's not a small one. Anytime I type a single quote, the app prints two, and there is just no way to disable it.

I really really like this extension. I've been using it for a couple years now and it saves so much time. My primary use is customer service emails. As soon is I feel that I've typed a phrase too many times I throw it in ProKeys and I never have to type it again.

This product is amazing and their service is superb. I had an issue and literally within 5 mins Gaurang assisted and solved the issue. Awesome team and product. Please keep up the good work.

Nice little extension for Chrome. I was migrating from Firefox and missed Clippings. It's a good substitute for Clippings in Chrome. Love the shortcut features including mathemania. Keep up the good work.

Not good for form filling! No short key, lot of "Unsupported textbox! Snippet cannot be inserted."

Seems very buggy. Text replacements often didn't work. Setting keystrokes is limited (i.e. you can't do Control+Option+space)

This app is great and the developers are amazing with the suggestions and feedback. This helps me clear my email queue at work and I can not express how thankful I am not to use google docs anymore! Please keep up the great work!

I love this extension! As a recruiting coordinator for an organization on 3 continents across 9 time zones, I send out so many emails that are *mostly* similar but with lots of particular parts. This extension has become a HUGE time saver.

Most recent update broke the extension for Lithium based forums that use Rich Text. Only worked in HTML mode only. This extra step slows down my workflow. Please restore rich text support and I'll revise my review. It was 5/5 stars before the most recent update. *EDIT* WOW! Fixed just a day after this report?! You guys are amazing. Five stars! Love this extension.

Surprisingly expansive feature set. The rich text editor is great, the ability to organize snippets into folders is super helpful. And the developers are responsive! Very impressed.

I use it quite a bit in conjunction with Workflowy and Dynalist (outliners and productivity tools). I would love to also have the ability to assign a hotkey to a snippet directly, and that way just invoke the snippet via the hotkey combination.

I use it to add date and time under my gmail signature to avoid gmail cutting automatically my signature, works perfect!

I am trying to use the extension. I have it added to chrome and when I right click, go to ProKeys, and click an otion to paste nothing shows up on the screen. I have tried Gmail, hangouts, and no avail. Am I doing something wrong?

Text shortcut expansion does not work properly on Upwork - the text gets expanded in the text entry box, but the submitted form field still gets unexpanded text value.

Really good extension! Simple to use, well designed and full of useful features. I had to contact support because another extension was causing problems but I soon resolved it and Gaurang was quick and polite with his responses! I definitely recommend this.
