handy little extension, works great
please fix the scrollbar bar on mixcloud(works for chat but not the actual page) website please and ty...
Its not working
Cant thank enough ?
Needs update coz don't works on chromium 78
It's not autohiding in Ubuntu.
Very nice design, very easy to use
It almost hid the scrollbar... It put this thin black bar/line down the edge of where the scrollbar normally is. Might have been caused by themes or some other customization I did, not sure.
Just the same as the OS X scrollbar. Far cleaner and doesn't feel like a third party extension at all
I edited the style.min.css file in (linux) dir: /home/chirr/.config/chromium/Default/Extensions/ekopmclclddpoipchmcbhifohhbmjafd/0.4.0_0 To hide the scroll bar all-together.
fire bowsa fo yo browsa
just what i wanted a small scroll bar the big one is to, well big for all my needs
★★★★★
Great addon, but I think it needs a little work with other addons it conflicts with. With JSONView, I see 2 scroll bars, but only 1 functioning. It uses a frame.
At a first glance looks nice! :) Thanks!
Good! I like!
Works well except I would like to be able to autohide for YouTube, which seems to be the only site that refuses to autohide.
mine is not transparent if i can fix that its going to beperfect
It looks nice enough, however if a website has custom scrollbar styling, the plugin overrides that, sometimes only partially, resulting in some seriously ugly scrollbars. Would rate 5 stars if the scrollbar styling yielded to on-page CSS when specified. (shouldn't really be that hard to pull off, the plugin css should be lowest-specificity anyways.)
Came across this extension while searching for a solution for my problem: autohiding the scrollbar. I'm giving this five stars even though it doesn't do what I needed it to do. My Macbook seems to be unable to hide scrollbars on Chrome only, not anywhere else (I have enabled the autohide to be uniform across all apps from System Preferences); also, as of Jun 2018 chrome://flags/#overlay-scrollbars appears to no longer exist. Anybody have any suggestions?
looks much better than the default in dark pages. and It just works
Causes bug on Instagram while scrolling up where it jumps down a post constantly
Badly needs a proper update.
Its now working
Its broken now, it doesn't scroll
I really liked this extension while it worked. Now, however, the scroll bar is locked in place and will never move with my scroll wheel.
It's been broken for the past couple months. It was good when it worked.
Cool and Thank you
shows up but doesn't move when I scroll
not working. shows up, but never moves, cant click to drag either.
As of 10/24/17 this extension no longer works: https://github.com/iaarchiver/MinimalScrollbar/issues/11
Doesn't work on some websites (scroll button was static)
Doesn't work anymore with current Chrome version. Will change back to 5 stars when it works again.
Great extension, nice design, but it doesn't work for me, bar don't scroll with me just stay at top of the line. Can you fix it?
It was good. Broken now.
The looks great but it won't moved.
The Best Scrollbar Ever But now it doesn't work. Thankfully a few guys at github found a solution, if you can't wait anymore and want it to be fixed go here github.com/iaarchiver/MinimalScrollbar/pull/12 Update: I tried to update the extension myself but alas, chrome does not allow you to modify the extension and even if you re-pack the extension to a crx file and manually install it for some reason chrome thought "Not from the webstore? MUST BE A VIRUS!!!" and disabled it forever... Finally got tired of it all and just enabled the overlay-scrollbar on the chrome://flags. It looks decent, it sometimes glitches here and there but it works at least.
WAS great, doesn't work anymore...please update!
Doesn't work in Linux/Ubuntu.
REVIEW UPDATE: Latest Chrome Version seems to have broken this extension! Please Fix Dev! PRIOR REVIEW This is a very cool and functional scrollbar extension. Once and while I've discovered a page that has a conflict in displaying the scollbar. For example, the vertical scrollbar is NOT appearing at all on eBay search result pages. Here is an example page/link: (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sop=15&_nkw=phone). Interestingly, the eBay homepage, and most other eBay pages, work fine. However, there is a workaround for this. In the options page for the extension, simply list the offending page (in this case http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html) as an excluded page. I just posted an 'Issue' for this on GitHub at: (https://github.com/iaarchiver/MinimalScrollbar/issues/6). If anyone else finds pages where the scrollbar does not appear, please post them there as well. Would love to see a fix/update for this. Otherwise, I love the look and feel of this extension!
Very clean and sexy looking. Looks slick with dark browser themes. However the lack of updates have left it mostly dysfunctional. (2017-SEP-9)
This is awesome, personally I would like to remove the scroll bar (and think it should be a native chrome setting) but this is perfect, the scroll bar is much less intrusive.
As promised clean and simple.
Good extension. Too bad that the development has stopped since the last two years. Thought of filing a feature enhancement request on Github, then I noticed that the last commit was well over 2 years ago.
I had a problem where the extension totally stopped working. Uninstalling and reinstalling from the chrome store fixed the issue, but also deleted all of my whitelisted web site list.
Exactly what I have been thinking about.
Better than what I was originally looking for.
With this extension, my scrolling sometimes stops working in one tab. The only solution I found so far is closing and reopening that tab.
Love the style. Clean and minimal. However, this a scrollbar... There's no reason for the extension to require "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit" permission!
#Bug Scrollbar visible on print of website
Too good to be true. There's a bug where if I leave chrome for a while then comeback, the scrollbar is bigger, like, 10-15 times. The issue disappear after reloading the page though.
Excellent extension. Gets the scroll bars out the way until they're needed.
Love it...
it looks just minimal gorgeous
Has developed an issue that causes sporadic pages to not scroll. I have since had to uninstall it.
It was exactly what I wanted. It gives me more window-space. I hate it when the scrollbar covers up too much space
Hi, I am interested in acquiring your extension "Minimal Scrollbar". Please contact me at: [email protected]
Didn't look exactly like the picture and it takes a bit to update its position. Eh.
Great. It works as advertised. It's neat and minimalistic. 4/5 stars. +1 star if it had the option to change color, opacity, and the delay before it autohides. I hope the developers take notice :)
Perfect extension! Does everything it promises and more. That's what I've been looking for. Thanks devs!
this is what i needed. I like it :)
Please add a delay timer setting to autohide in options :(
Fukin awesome! I'd like to give you a kiss if you are woman :))
Would be great if this worked on Chrome pages like Webstore, Settings & extentions page.
Great aesthetic, very well executed. A staple in my extension list.
BEST EXTENSION EVER. I love these kind of minimal extensions or themes, i will make sure to show it to others
Perfect
My favorite scrollbar extension thus far. I've gone to others for something minimal, but they were not transparent. This one is transparent and even autohides! It could use some options, like adjusting hide time and changing the color of the bar (I'd personally prefer a warm grey), but so far I love it and am gonna keep it until I find something perfect...which will probably never happen.
needs a little work if you could change the bars width to your liking along with disabling the scroll bars in full screen it would be perfect...but it doesnt have sthese feature yet...so for now 4 stars.
It would be nice to change and/or lighten the colour of the scroll bar. Also to have the hide/delay time change would be awesome.
Glitchy as hell, seems like it scales its width depending on scroll length and bugs out like crazy on OS X.
works great!!
It's alright, but one problem I have with it is that in embedded YouTube videos the bar appears on the right, and sometimes it's large enough to block the 'Exit full screen' button.
I just don't understand why this is not in Chrome by default.
Using in progress. So far so good. This is the best extension to auto-hide scroll bar. Will report problems if any. Update: Sometimes emails are squished even if you excluded website. Some websites (Youtube), the bar doesn't autohide. Scroll bar will sometimes freeze and not scroll at all. ***I read other people having a random oversized scroll bar. I don't ever have this issue on my fast computer. But on my 8 year old laptop I see it.***
Works well most of the time, but shows up on embedded Youtube videos and randomly shows up at 5x size. It's a great, but inconsistent extension that I've had to disable.
Best scroll bar :)
Sometimes it has a huge Minimal Scrollbar, ironic. but that`s not the issue i have with it. In fullscreen Youtube it still has a scroollbar, and no matter what video the scrollbar is there. Please fix this
This extension is great, it's exactly what I was looking for. However, PLEASE fix the bug where the scroll bars randomly increases in size. Besides that bug, there's nothing I can complain about and will definitely be worth 5 stars.
Thanks, fixed a problem I was having on my Chromebook where the default scrollbar would not show up at all, even when I was scrolling my invisible scrollbar or hovering right over where it should be. With this extension, I can now see my scrollbar again! Yay! Happy Happy Joy Joy
It works great but sometimes it loads very big vertically and horizontally (seems like a bug). If that gets fixed then 5 stars for sure!
very good scrollbar, but needs more customizing options. i am having a bug where it shows up on fullscreen youtube videos though...
i love it
Like others have said - color/size changes as well as hide/delay time changing options would elevate this from being a good plugin to a great one. I haven't found performance to be an issue with other scrollbar plugins for chrome, but this one definitely causes some webpages to become choppy when scrolling.
perfect, but annayed by the expansion thing
Hey I really like it! please make it so that you can see the highlighted text in the scrollbars (when you use the find option in chrome).. shouldnt be too much trouble.. you can just steal the coding from other scrollbars extensions that have that feature :)
Looks very nice. I'd like to add to the call for adding size options (both normal and hover state). On my 27" monitor it's too small! Also would be nice to add color options too, i.e. be able to make hover scrollbar blue.
I expected something with a different look (like chrome for android scrollbar), but it is still much prettier than the default one! By the way, I noticed that the scrollbar doesn't show up on local html files... A bug, maybe?
Not always correctly look - I see problems when use page zoom (for example 150%).
I found this to be the best in this function. However, there is a bug which reduces the yahoo mail preview frame to half. Okay. found the option to exclude yahoo mail from this. reverting 5 star on this.
Working well.
Awesome. The conventional scroll bar looks pretty terrible, and this is the only transparent scroll bar in the web store. However, there needs to be more settings, like color, thickness, and auto-hide for when not scrolling
Wow. Having used the scrollbar roughly twice ever, this really is a great improvement.
Good when it works. The regular chrome scrollbar pops up every now and then and goes away if I reload again. I removed all excluded pages to be certain that wasn't it.
Very nice, does the job but it needs size options. Keep it up!
Awesome! Just like scrollbar on the mobile!
Been looking for this forever. Doesn't work on all sites, though.
Well made.
the "Use custom webkit scrollbar" setting causes pages to jump to either the top or bottom, opposite of the mouse's location, when trying to grab or tap the scrollbar. otherwise, bloody awesome
Love it, but it breaks the gmail offline web app. If that gets fixed, 5 stars!
