It works as intended

Considerably easier to use, had less spammy popups, and more powerful than Block Site. I appreciated the ability to limit my time on certain sites rather than blocking them completely. Very well-made product that doesn't seem to slow down my browsing.

Hey there, first of all very nice job with the app, very easy to use. Couple of bugs I'm experiencing right now. 1. I'm in schedule from Mon to Fri, the sites blocked wont be blocked and the app wont work at all unless I click on the extension in the toolbar. Once the modal opens showing "Focus mode, Time remaning" etc... It will start working. Unless this is intended I think it should work right away. 2. Looks like I miss the configuration from schedules when I go from one pc to the other using my same google account & google chrome, so I have to setup everything again. Will see if I can send a PR if you have this open source, anyways thanks!

Stayfree is the best website blocker and web analytics for me but has one bad thing about it. I am not able to block a website whenever I open and use the extention, and have to go to the website and block it, please fix it

I love that it's free, but it was very buggy. Sometimes I'd go to a website and parts of the website would show up.

It works great for me. However, I do notice some strange dips in my broadband speed - down from 50 megs to 2. I'm not going to criticise you for this, though. I should be writing, not checking Twitter or my broadband speed! This does the job well! :-)

Easy to track our Web usage according to our websites whether we are doing timepass or doing some real productivity work

Have been using this app for months and found it to be extremely simple and useful but unfortunately it has stopped working properly as of about a week ago. Not only does it not block websites when you instruct it to (which is its main purpose) unless you physically click on the icon. Then, when it does finally work, it only partially blocks the pages and appears extremely glitchy and messy. Other feedback I would include aside from the issues causing it to be non-functional. I think you should only have the option to press "1 more minute" once per website/day (or have the option to remove the button entirely) as it defeats the purpose of setting a limit in the first place. Additionally, it would be useful to be able to set a password to change one's settings.

I discovered this extension while attempting to establish a connection between my mobile phone and my computer. Despite my greater experience using my phone, I found this extension to be highly beneficial with only minor issues. One issue I encountered was the failure of the app to record my time usage, leading to its eventual uninstallation from my phone. However, overall, I would highly recommend this extension for browsing the web.

I was searching a lot for a simple website blocker extension, all the results were just either have a lot of noise and complexity or it is not free and you need to subscribe for an exorbitant amount of money, but this is very easy and free. it is exactly what I was looking for and it also has a simple time tracker which is great.

After so long found an apt web usage tracker and site blocker

After setting a schedule, it only blocks websites after I click the extension to view it. If a schedule is set, it should follow that schedule automatically and not require a trigger.

Overall, I like it but the focus mode can only be 1, 2, 3 hours which is annoying because sometimes I need to use it for only 30 minutes but other than that, it is a really good extension to download.

quite good extension with amazing visuals and quotes but there are major flaws - 1. example you can access the blocked site pretty easily even your focus mode is on at that moment. Like in anymusic website if you just have to press any buttton as it load coz theres a delay in blocking that site by stayfree. Also sometime theres this glitch that you can access every blocked site in incognito even though you ticked allow in incognito in extension settings like for eg-YT or any app untill you press lil popup icon up there so then only it blocks that still backround music keeps on playing even after that.

this is a great extension. 2 things, can there be some sort of password protection for the websites blocked? also can there be a way for each user to customize the block screen page (ie: background, font, timer, etc)?

Hi Team, I've really enjoyed how easy this was to set up and use. I would recommend adding a pin feature to allow you lock down the setting so that a child cannot override them.

This is a really good extension for management and I think everyone should try it out

Amazing extension

While I did like the ability to see what sites were hogging my time, the blocking feature did not work for me. I set up three blocks of daily restricted time with 4 or 5 blocked sites, then activated focus mode. But then I went to one of the blocked sites to make sure it was working, and I was able to access the site without issue. I even tried restarting my browser to see if that made a difference and it did not.

It got acquired, now you have to agree to their new owners to collect information about your browsing, for who knows what (marketing!). You can't even refuse, you can only tell them "Maybe later.". Luckily the uninstall isn't a "Maybe" but permanent.

Love it as most of the features are free. Now getting rid of a similar app with limited usages: freedom.to

Assisted me greatly with productivity

Great extension overall. But sometimes when I click on the icon I get a very long loading screen and then an error. After that the extension stops working and I have to turn it off and on, but then my stats are gone

My screen time is sometimes miscalculated when I put the computer to sleep. It would be better if it counted how long the device is on.

I hope you stay free StayFree ? Either way, your App is wonderful. I have been using BlockSite before and their pricing update was just disgusting. They are charging nearly as much as Office 365 and the app does nothing special. Honestly, your app is much better as well with its awesome analytics. If you ever make the app premium, please make the pricing fair and I will buy it (I am sure, so will many others). I am sure everyone would pay like 10-20€ per year, or 100-150€ lifetime subscription and will promote you so new generations will get your app as well. If you take the BlockSite route, you will lose everyone, like they are going to. Google should probably reset ratings and usage stats each year to get a better idea of which app is good and which is only riding the wave of what they have built in the past, which is wrong. Anyway, all the best and thanks for the wonderful plugin!

Best Extension for Focus Work

It is great, but switching the stop-timer is quite easy. So in extreme cases, it could defeat the purpose. Maybe to increase time for short duration, it could give a 2 min cooldown, or 1 minute cooldown before actually letting the person watch.

There are useful and user friendly system and also rewards u with level up as u progress in the app.

Its an amazing extension except there is one problem, if i have spotify playing in a background tab and i continue working on another website such as google docs instead of counting time for google docs for which it should actually show as it is the active tab it instead counts that under screen time for spotify. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Very useful in time tracking.

This is the best productivity extension I have ever used. One stop for all productivity enhancers - Block websites, put time limits on websites and track our daily screen time for analysis. But there is a flaw. I know a way around to cheat i.e. incognito tab which I use to watch YouTube which wastes my a lot of time. If you can block it in incognito tab then please try or else I'll have to resist my temptation to watch You Tube. I have got one suggestion - Add a Pomodoro timer cuz I have to use a different extension for that. I love the quotes that appear after I use up all the time limit of distracting websites. Overall its a great extension. Ya the best advantage is that it is free.

As someone with ADHD I struggle with staying on task and impulse control. This extension helped me take care of the external factors that contribute to my procrastination. After I blocked all of my most distracting websites, I completed the most school assignments I ever have this entire Fall Quarter. This just became my NECESSITY.

Love it. But, there's a couple of important features on the app, that aren't on the extension. Please bring over the option to blacklist sites to the extension as well. Plus, I do get that limits can't really sync across devices, but atleast the setting change itself should be synced. Also, quick question, when I backup my data on the app, does it also backup my settings (as in, my limiters, blacklists, etc.).?

I got this mainly for the screen time limits option, as I tend to get distracted and get on other websites when I am trying to get work done, one website in particular. Ok, let me start off with the things I DO Like: - Easily track screen time - detailed stats - Create limits for certain apps - Multiple "notification" options for limits However, this extension could be SO much better. For example, the first thing I noticed is the notifications. When you go under app limits, there are two options, one is to block the website after a certain time usage, and the other is to send a notification. However, I have found that although the time limiter works good, the notifications don't appear for me. I am assuming that this is supposed to send a notification to the system itself, which then will pop up as a google chrome notification under "notifications". However, I have notifications turned off for Google Chrome, as many others do, my reason being many annoying notices from fake viruses. Therefore, the notifications do not show up for me, and this setting is completely useless. (I am assuming they are supposed to show up under system notifications; if they are not, then that just means this setting is broken and needs to be fixed. Therefore, I was thinking it would be better if it created a popup on the tab/chrome itself, although idk, maybe it does but its just broken or doesn't work for me. PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE ADD THIS: THE MAIN THING I would like to see in this extension is the ability to gain a short amount of extra time after the limit for a website goes into place. Currently, when you set a time limit for a website, when the time limit is up, you cannot do anything else, nor disable this without going to the extension and then refreshing. This is fine for most games and such, BUT the webpage that I personally get distracted with a lot is a drawing program, which does not autosave. This means that if the screen time goes off and I didn't just save whatever I did, I will lose all of the progress I just made. Sure, I realize that when I get distracted I shouldn't have even had the time to do ANYTHING, but sometimes on the weekend, I like to just get on here and draw, meaning that if it goes off, I lost everything unsaved, which is usually a lot. THIS IS THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION I SEE: What I was thinking was when the screen time limit for the app goes off, you could make an button that says "one more minute", assuming that the screen limit itself was set for over 1 minute, as I don't think you could lose much if the screen limit is only 10 seconds or so. However, this would give time to save, and would be a great solution, as I prefer not to have to save my work every 11 seconds in case the limit ends. One more thing i think is silly is that you have to be over 18 to use this. I feel like this would be perfect for kids who get distracted a lot doing schoolwork, similar to how I get distracted while working. Just a thought... I also noticed this while I was playing a game with the extension on, it appeared to really lag the game, which I have a feeling is a good amount of the reason why people might install this, to limit online games. Not sure if there is any way to make it still limit the time without lagging the game so much, but if so, that would be handy. Another thing I wish this had is a "Invert" option, so to speak. What I mean by this is that you could make the extension disable every webpage BUT the user specified ones, and of course the extension itself, as to be able to disable these limits once you have finished this task. This would be extremely useful for staying on task, at least for me, but this would just be a fun added feature. Ok, one final thing I wish that this extension has is advanced screen limits. For example, it would be cool if you could give yourself 5 minutes for a web page on the weekdays, but then on the weekends you had an hour. Also, it would be cool if you could set up a total screen time option, (I think this would be pretty simple), where basically (Ill write this half code half text) you first set a total limit, and then, If you spend longer than that total limit on the screen, this extension will block all webpages. It would also be cool if you could set limits for certain times of the day, ex no screen time on this from 2-5pm, no screen time on this from 8pm-3am, etc. Overall though, really great extension, and I guess I am happy with it, although I have a feeling I will soon begin to get annoyed at the very strict limit part (I tried removing the cover using ctrl+i, but it is, as I expected, made to come back up again every second or so.) - I will DEFINITELLY change my review to 5 stars if this gets added, I program myself and i don't think this would be too hard to add, depending on the code and saved variables used to block the website in the first place. Despite this minor issue, the extension page is really clean, modern looks, no glitches that I can see so far, I will write an update if any of my requests are published. It would be really nice though if you took my requests into consideration, I have more requests, but I feel that these requests would be mainly directed towards me, and I tried to only suggests edits I felt that everyone would find useful. Hope to see this extension continue to grow in the future!!

I really like this extension. When I'm committed to not letting distractions in it really keeps me on track, also it helps even if i'm not as committed as I'd like to be. One suggestion I would make would be a feature that lets you lock a set limit so you couldn't just delete it whenever you wanted. Say you set youtube to thirty minutes a day, but you could set that limit so you wouldn't be able modify it for a week or month or so.

This extension is an absolute lifesaver for people that are trying to work online, distraction-free. All the students, entrepreneurs, or just about anyone that wants to be fully dialed in with their work should have this!

The UI is awesome, and with all the features, this is a must-add extension! The Website blocker is an extremely handy feature especially for a student like me who got to stay as far as possible from all those online distractions. Not to Mention the very useful feature of web analytics which shows the exact amount of time I've been on various websites. At the end of the day, this is an amazing extension! Recommended!

it keep loading and no data at all

The UI Is extremely good, and it serves a great usage to me, only problem that i have with this extension is that when I export the website data it stores it in ".usage_backup" this extension but it would be good on your side to also make it option to export as .xlsx, .csv format coz, what happens is when I want a collective data of my usage stats and I select a longer time period it never shows me the graph & suppose this was in the above written formats then it would be easy to plot graphs and make better decisions, This is the only problem I am facing, rest the app is good, Love it ?❤️

Mine keeps locking up Chrome. I don't know what it's interacting with, but this app is the only one I need to disable to stop Chrome from freezing.

BEST! One thing that would make it better would be an option to limit number of times a website can be visited in 24 hours (just like time limit) but overall this extension is simply amazing.

I have the app on my phone and while I also like the chrome extension it's missing some of the features the app has, specifically needing a pin to change settings, other than that it's really nice.

Helped me stay on track for school! I get easily distracted so this was a necesity in order to be productive.

Splendid, easy and free. I'd gladly pay for a small subscription to have more control over details that I thought would be included when I installed it, like daily and hourly limits. I'd love to have the option to not block during certain days like the weekend or to only act during active work hours. Is this planned for the future? If so, I'll add the last star on my review :)

Helps reducing distractions

Can't figure out a way to sync blocked sites across multiple devices. Have to manually set up for each device despite linking them all to the same account. Not sure why this is so difficult to do.

I really like the extension. I had been using BlockSite for some time, but I was forced to pay for blocking more than 3 websites ($11/month for blocking websites, good joke) so I decided to look for a replacement. I was even thinking of creating my own if I would not find it, I am happy that I did :) Graphs with apps usages is a nice additional feature. One thing I would love to see is a password protection for changing the limits, the ultimate protection against procrastination :)

Terrific attachment. Although blocking limits are slightly less developed than other of its kind it's leaps and bounds more user friendly and doesn't cost a thing. I'm so happy to have escaped the monthly subscription hell of other attachments its type, I'd honestly I'd be happy to buy a one time premium version or donate to the developers to help keep the app free.

I love how it tracks my usage on computer and phone! I can see in what applications and websites hinders my productivity, so I can reduce my screen time. I'm sorry but you crashed the app. There is no longer an option to view a bar graph, and for me it ruins the whole use. I've been using it for two years and I'm very satisfied, but I'm about to delete the app. Please return the bar graph. In addition, even when you select a date range of several weeks, you no longer see dates below but hours, which is probably a bug.

Perfect for blocking websites. As you add a website to the blocklist, you can also customize the allowed time on each one with is fantastic.

You should be able to block sites with some kind of url pattern, not just entire domains. Also, right clicking the extension from the extension list overrides the normal extension menu and opens up the stayfree page. Not cool, you don't get to decide how I use the extension. Uninstalled.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't find any option to enable and disable websites, or am just deleting and uploading them over and over again, is there a way to enable them without disabling? Would be very helpful. Other than that it's great!

Love this extension! Very easy to add websites to the block list, but it takes a few steps to remove them so you aren't too tempted. Was using another one that started limiting how many sites you could add and it was annoying, switched over to this and haven't looked back.

The app is good but the dashboard that loads inside chrome lacks a lot of information that is included inside the phone app. Please add the same sections like Total Usage, Total Phone Usage, Total Web Usage on the chrome extension dashboard. Adding another section like a bar graph that shows usage history at day level, week level or even months side by side will be very helpful.

Plz also add keyword blocking facility and although it blocks in normal tab but its no use in incoginto. I could use Quora and Yt in incoginto although daily limit is over. Please look upon it rest there is no problems.

I like the app since it is a good time tracker for my Chromebook, much like Action Dash for Android (I previously used Digital Wellbeing until I knew that it was a pre-installation app outside of ChromeOS). One complaint I like to give is that the app was still running when I put my Chromebook on standby because I left one Google Chrome window open.

If you cant measure, you cant change yourself. This extension measures how many hours you spend on your pc or phone. I used to spend 6-9 hours everyday across phone and laptop. i marked out most unproductive hours ( apps, websites) and i eliminated the usages of unproductive hours.

Absolutely loved it. I've been using very much lately and its distracting me from my main goals and tasks. This Chrome Extension really helps you. It really helped me. i've set up a 15 minutes usage timer on youtube using this extension and if i use youtube over 15 minutes, well i cant. Undoubtedly the best extension for blocking website or tracking usage time of different websites!! i would recommend this extension to everyone....

Great UI, provides useful usage statistics to help set limits. All it needs is the ability to block websites at specified time ranges. Eg: Blocking a streaming service during workhours.
