Well, this is embarrassing... Blogger isn't playing nicely; it's giving ScribeFire an error: Why ???????????????????????????

Has potentially what I want... but couldn't get it to work with Blogger. The email requesting help bounced. I guess it isn't being maintained any longer. Too bad.

As well as not working, even if it did, the interface is so dreadful I cannot imagine spending hours of my time looking at it. #yerk Developers? Please, put all the bells and whistles under an "advanced" option, keep it simple, sexy Yes, that's KISS, you know the other version. #usability #simplicity #winwin

Doesn't work with Google's own blog sites! Why make this for Chrome? Thanks for wasting my time.

Great way to blog w/out opening numerous windows. But, lately it's a HUGE resource hog and no longer connects to the blog servers.

What happened? I have no idea! It used to work and it used to be great as well, but now I see a great effort riding a bull without any protection. And what makes it worse.. is that the developer doesn't reply!

As the others have said here, it simply doesn't seem to work. I installed it to do offline draft posts, but with my self-hosted WordPress blog it returned a 500 Error and no details. Not very helpful unfortunately! The plugin hasn't been updated in almost a year, so I suspect it's been abandoned. I sure hope they aren't gathering and selling the username/password data I just put in...hmm...time to change my password!

The extension didn't worked at all with my Blogger site. It shows up "wrong username/password", although I typed it correctly. (I checked it from Blogger website directly) I am not sure why is this app still in Google Chrome store, as I am not alone who is facing this issue. Please take this down! Waste of time...

Once a great extension, it is now so far out of date that I could not connect to any of three blog systems I use for five different sites. Do not bother. This extension should really be removed as it won't work right with any of the last major editions of the browser. It's alternative spin-off ScribeFire Next isn't even offer here either.

I really wish the "Blog Selected Text" feature retained the original formatting. It just dumps it as a big blob of text.

I just installed this to both Firefox and Chrome on two separate machines. When I add blog and click Finish, all three extensions just go nowhere. The cute little circle keeps circling around... I'm not behind a proxy, I disabled firewall for testing... Just rubbish.

Dude Why this extension can read all my website data and I think it's spam at all.

Borislav Iordanov April 28th, 2014

I agree with some of the other reviewers that it's way too buggy to be useful. It used to at least not do disastrous things like publish a blob when you click "save progress" to only save your draft. Seems like the developer(s) doesn't care much about it anymore, sad....

Brook Bond April 28th, 2014

Most times I use this it seems to have problems displaying the list of post from the server. Sometimes there is just one entry from the current server and other times a listing of an alternative server. This was with self hosted Wordpress accounts

Used to work brilliantly. Now it fails to save my work, my drafts and my blogs. Worse than useless now, sad to say.

1. Failed in Blogger upload 2. Can not upload pictures in bulk. One by one is not good for me. I'm removing this SF after this rating review.

Usually does what I want it to do, upgrades do tend to require some minor tweaking under the hood. Give it a shot.

I saw a lot of negative reviews but I tried it anyway. I like to live on the edge... So glad I did! Works perfectly with Blogger/Blogspot and, in my opinion, much better than Live Writer. Great work, thank you! :) Now, ScribeFire developers, do you know what would be terribly awesome and make ScribeFire the center of my universe? Pasting screenshots... and a button for <PRE> and <CODE>... Just a thought ;)

What happened? I can no longer post to my blog. Why do updates always seem to ruin what was working fine until an update "improved" it?

A nice blogging tool which lacks one critical feature: spellcheck. Something about its use of TinyMCE disables the built in browser spellcheck in Chrome. Without this feature it pretty much guarantees I will not use it as my primary blogging tool.

Update appears to have destroyed the usefulness of this extension. Lost memory of tags, won't save drafts, etc. Have loved this for my Wordpress blog for years and now...well, unhappy. Very unhappy.

Roy Baxter August 30th, 2013

Loved it until it was updated without my permission. NOW there are no image uploads or even Zemanta. It has been ruined. Screw it. Will move on to Qumana, MS Word, or similar.

Silke Barbarella August 30th, 2013

How dare Chrome update this extension without asking me?! I downgraded for a reason! And that is because the latest version does not support image uploads. I used to *loves* this extension, but I guess I am now going to go back to just logon to each of my blogs separately and update things from there. :(

I'm on the fence...I used ScribeFire a while back and really like it. Really liked the split-pane view but it doesn't seem to work in Chrome. The back and forth between windows or tabs if I'm blogging about a page is getting tiresome. Please let me know if I've missed something in my setup b/c I really miss the split window feature. I can't find the support forum and googling hasn't turned up anything.

I have used this extension for a long time but it does appear to have a couple of problems on my laptop, like the link dialog box taking a long time to open. I also find that if I want to add a new template I actually have to close the window then open it again to get the right button under the template dropdown

It just will not work on Chrome even on Opera. Tried so many times to get it working properly. I don't know who's to blame (referring to a users comment regarding WordPress) but these problems so many of us are bringing up need to be dealt with. ScribeFire Devs, have you given up or something? Really disappointing.

I teach SEO, run a number of blogs and have been ashamed at the pure stupidity of WP and a number of other CMS systems to integrate into something like this. This has to be my extension of the year, now, where is the droid version?

A Google User January 1st, 2013

Two stars only because it used to be fantastic to use in Firefox, but a version from years ago. Now, in Chrome, wheels keep turning, nothing happens. Started having similar issues with it after loving it for a while, while using it in Firefox. Using Chrome, on a current Macintosh, trying to post to Posterous which is very easy otherwise (more flexible than Blogger tends to have been). I'll give it a try again someday, maybe, but not pleased at all with it. Achieves nothing, I would give it one star simply for being able to connect the blogs in the first place, two stars only because I once thought it was worth using. Not now!

First of all thanks for creating something useful that I can use, for free. But to review the extension on its merits, it is not quite perfect. For instance the link dialog inexplicably takes more than 10 seconds to open - maybe a temporary glitch?

I find very puzzling some of the comments about this extension not working on Chrome. I have self hosted Wordpress and a number of different computers with ScribeFire and Chrome. Unusual errors very occasionally but most of the time works very well.

It'll alright. It doesn't work for Posterous. Tumblr and wordpress work just fine. I'm guessing blogger does too. Posterous definitely not; Yo fix it man! It's a great app if you don't use posterous. But I do! :(

I had ScribeFire in firefox but have been using Chrome almost exclusively for sometime and was happy to find SF available for it. Installation was flawless. I created a couple of posts just to test it and everything worked well so far. Love the features. Developers: Thank you for making ScribeFire and for making it free!

A Google User March 17th, 2012

I will change my review as soon as I'm able to use the app. The app doesn't open when I click on it, so it's completely useless at this time. I'm a big fan of ScribeFire, I've used it for years, so I hope to be able to use the app soon.

Top Notch tool for blogging. It is completely free, and lets you connect to multiple blog sites to post your blogs to, all without having to go to those particular sites to do so. I highly recommend it.

This extension does not work with Chrome 16.0.912.59 beta and my blog at blogger. I get this error when trying to add my blog: "Well, this is embarrassing... While trying to determine your blog's settings, ScribeFire tripped over this code: UNKNOWN_BLOG_TYPE You're welcome to try and configure your blog manually." I was logged into my google account, gmail as well as blogger. Too bad because the interface looks like I might have liked it, had it worked.

Emily Jones November 29th, 2011

It's a very powerful tool and works well, but it has a crowded interface that makes me want to just turn to the default WordPress, Tumblr, and/or Blogger post-making interfaces.

Christopher Jahn November 13th, 2011

It was great when it had all the features. Now I can't even get it to open in the split-pane mode which was its best feature. Utterly worthless now.

Great! It's fast, sleek and there's no problems. However interface isn't that nice.
