its okay but I wish i could use it as a highlighter, it doesn't work for highlighting PDF's or anything like that because the drawings move up and down with the page, they don't stay in the place you originally drew them. If this was fixed i would give it a 5/5

It allows to paint on web page as a canvas. Page scrolling is still enabled, so you can fully use the page as regular - just select a cursor mode

could not annotate PDFs

The app itself is amazing, so many uses and all of them work fine. But it replaces your new tab screen and you can't access your bookmarks. Does anyone know if you can disable that?

I'm not going all the way down, because I didn't even use it. I was about to test it on a blank website, when my new tab page was swapped.

Includes Bing as your New Tab page. Basically just bloatware.

It is a great extension! I really loved the previous version of it, because it did not annoyingly change my homepage. With the extension enabled, it automatically sets a new homepage that I completely despise. I want my browser to open Google, with the option to go to email or my waffle menu...anything else is disruptive. This seems like an unnecessary setting by the maker that could be changed. I would love to rate this as 5 stars but I often simply keep it turned off and forget to even use the extension because of this one major annoyance.

I can no longer recommend this. It takes over the 'new tab' option in Chrome. Was good - now it's not.

Web paint used to work, but now it replaced my new tab with another tab. Search something, and it gets searched in bing Please fix the extension

This extension was very useful and aided in marking up screen content for ideas etc. However, it now takes over your home page and replaces it with its own search integrated with Bing (of all things) maybe for affiliate or other marketing tactics. Any app taking over your pages or search functions should be considered as dangerous and even more so when there is no option to remove the takeover page without deleting the app.

When you install it immediately takes over you "new tab" settings and apparently only works there. Will change the rating if I can use it some other way.

Accidentally set one of my drawings to "background" and now every new tab displays it. I couldn't find any settings to undo it so I had to uninstall then reinstall it. If there is already a way to undo that, I would advise making it easier to be found. The new window now only searches using Bing. This should give users the choice to stick with their own default one. Once these two features are fixed it would be 5 stars. Very easy to use and still the best I've found so far.

Worked pretty well and good until it decided to change my home page without permission. Nope, not having that again.

The drawing part is pretty good, BUT the extension will take over your new-tab page to serve up a Bing search field. There is no option to turn off their commandeering of the new-tab page nor to change search engine.

Installing this extension changes your home page. THAT IS RUDE!

This is a great tool for marking up websites, but now it takes over your default Chrome tab when opening up a new tab. This is an HORRIFIC update as I need to disable it every time I'm done using the tool so I can get my regular Chrome tab back.

This extension was great and did all that it promised. The reason why I only rated it 4 stars is because it's really annoying how it changes the new tab page.

EDIT: This extension now replaces the home page with its own home page. The functionality cannot be turned off. This is entirely unnecessary and intrusive. Uninstalling. This is a useful extension. As a bonus, it remembers what you've done on each page across sessions. Problem: On a long page, the extension stops working after scrolling past some point. Worse, when scrolling past that point, it erases everything that you've already done without warning. Glitchy Pen draws a cm below where my cursor is, the lines are fuzzy, program is slow. There are much better extensions available

Extension does what it says it does and does it well. However the extension replaces your newtabs homepage from a google search bar to a bing search bar. I havent seen a way to change it back without disabling the extension. Why is the extension changing the search engine.

It works fine drawing with a mouse which is not really a good way to draw. There is at least one second delay using the touchscreen/pen which is a dealbreaker. Also it forces you to use it's own new tab page for no obvious reason. I will not be using this extension very often/at all because of these reasons.

I am only saying I dislike this app due to the fact that when its enabled it changes the home screen of my browser. If this was not a part of its coding and usage I would not be removing it and using another digital ink app.

Latest update will change your default browser to Bing, random pop ups etc. This WAS a good plugin but they've now appeared to have added spam

Does what it says, and very cool app actually, HOWEVER... Hijacks your Home and New Tab pages from your default to like a completely blank search page, for some reason. This is annoying, but wouldn't be so bad IF there were some way to turn this feature off. Combing your settings just reveals a message in the Home Page section that says "Web Paint is controlling this" or something, and gives you the option to disable it, which results in disabling the extension completely. No way to turn off the home page feature alone. This is obnoxious and hopefully just an oversight, however until it's fixed, I won't be using it.

What was once a great tool is now horrible. There's no reason to take over the new tab browser behavior. This should have been an option, not a default setting that can't be disabled.

if it had key combinations, it would be even better. having to manually click on the undo tool is an extra step that gets annoying after a while.

This PoS changes Chrome's new tab to default to Bing instead of Google! No telling what other dishonest and unscrupulous things it does with your system. UNINSTALLING!

I really enjoyed this extension for what it was supposed to do. Really helpful sending instructions to colleagues or clients. However it loses 2 stars for the new update. It changes the main google webpage to be a blank canvas with NO OPTION TO REVERT BACK. I hate it. It's a blank white screen that essentially flashbangs you and you loose out on google shortcuts which I use 90% of the time. I will check back every once in a while to see if the option has become available.

The developers of this extension just decided to take over my browser homepage without any warning whatsoever. To make matters worse, there's no way to turn this off in the settings. The latest update sucks. It looks cleaner, sure, but for god's sakes, don't change people's browser settings.

I used to love this but, when they updated it I can't change my new tab theme back, when I search something it goes to Microsoft Bing, I didn't know how to use it. Please tell me how to reset this or fix it. Thanks :)

New update ruined this extension. It change default new tab to blank without any option to disable. It also request permission to read all your browsing history.

Turn the new tab force to optional. Until then I'm removing the extension.

Hello. The new version changes the way "chrome://newtab" looks. Please add an option to revert that. I don't want my Chrome's home page looks to change.

I'm baffled by the developer's decision to make this extension open up an arbitrary new tab page without the option to disable it, without a way to change it. I have uninstalled it from my whole organization and will be using another one instead.

Web Paint used to be my goto extension for being able to draw on the web and I recommended it to everybody, but now it takes over your browser default in chrome (on a new tab) (this started on 8/16/21) - YUCK!! I have removed it from all of my chrome logins and will never use this extension again!

This is a great extension, which I've got a lot of use out of. But why on earth have you started forcing a custom new tab page? It makes it completely unusable I'm afraid.

I don't know where this app came from, but I didn't install it. It just appeared on my computer out of the blue and tried to hijack my browsing session when I opened a new tab.

This was one of my favorite extensions, but I will not tolerate an extension that changes my default search engine without permission and without the option to change it.

It's a pretty decent app however I'm demoting the stars because it now takes over your Google homepage.

Sometimes i cant scroll. But works 100 percent

On the plus side, it saves the annotations. You can close the page and open it up, and (as long as you have the extension open) your drawings and stuff will still be there. On the downside, it's super slow. I tried using it with my Wacom tablet and it couldn't keep up and would just skip some strokes. It works fine with a mouse but if you use a drawing tablet you need to write extra slowly.

Amazing extension! Gets done the work perfectly, would be glad if a shortcut can be added for undo.

This is good, but it could have some improvements. For example: when i draw on the screen, when i scroll the drawing does not scroll so it just blocks some text if i draw on a picture and then scroll down. Also, there should be a undo shortcut. Good extension, I recommend it!

This is great. I was looking for a tool simply allowing me to draw lines, and write key words, just like marking things on a white board with computer screen projection. However most other commercial tools not only expensive but also too fancy to use. Now with this extension I can do the same on my digital learning environment as I did in the classroom. It's exactly what I need at the moment. Thank you!

ITS AMAZING BUT... ITS BROKEN NOW THE PAINT BUTTON HAS BECOME SETTTING PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE.

Works well and has a lot of options. There's also a small error: Transparency should be renamed to Opacity. 100% transparency would mean that you can't see the marker at all, but it seems to be inverted.

This is an EASY too to use and recommend this to anyone! They also don't overly advertise and put their brand everywhere! There are some downs, Like not all pages are supported but from what I have seen they are just main google pages (like the chrome store and new tab)

I'm a teacher and I've been using the app daily for demonstrations during online learning. It has been extremely useful. If you add hotkey options for increasing and decreasing size, I will probably never use a smart board again. The app would be basically perfect.

I use this for all my school work, I can also use this to black out things before taking a screenshot. I love this, and the fact that it has a cursor option to edit the page is amazing! I honestly don't understand why this isn't rated 5-stars, it is totally useable! Espessially when I have math to do, and I have to cross out numbers, it is AMAZING! I wouldn't use any other extension besides this one, it fits all my needs and it's easy to use.

This app is amazing I can draw on my screen no problem and you have a mouse button so you can still click on your screen I thought this was going to turn out bad but instead i was great!

The highlights and drawings would have to be removed before I could scroll. Completely useless if you are trying to use this to mark up documents that are multiple pages

thanks. it's fantastic. is it mark mop? i wish it had a shortcut to ::https://www.onlinemictest.com/webcam-test/ but i can just open it then use web paint on it. if you could actually compile java like that into it.. or maybe plug them with an internet shortcut baring their name i use this quite a bit. i still "use ms paint brush" but i am using web paint more and more.

It worked the exact way I wanted it to work when I bought it. I didn't see any malware, for the people out their. 9 year olds only say that this has malware, and they think it is for every extension. But this is so good. It works the exact way I wanted them to work.

I have adhd and I need to doodle to be able to pay attention in class. Regular paper didn't cut it because it meant I had to look away from the screen and inevitably got distracted. This extension lets me do my online work while giving my brain the "background busywork" it needs to focus and listen. Thank you web paint extension!
