Hi Gidi, Wondering if you still maintain this lol This would be perfect for me, but I keep getting " Unfortunately, the website is refusing to load the content via an iFrame." after I see a 0.5second glimpse of the site (on Gmail btw). Anyway to fix that?
Gave a little sense of hope but then it kinda dissapointed me in the state it is right now, when I press the trigger button to have the preview it's great, a little big but alright why not, but when I release I do not want to go to the webpage, but it seems to be the current way it works, if you hold the trigger button the page load, but when you release the button it opens up the hovered link. This is not the expected way the addon should behave IMHO, when you hold the trigger button it should show the preview, when you release it, it should end the preview and make you able to continue to scroll. There seems to be a problem when using the escape button as holding the trigger button and then pressing escape button are shortcuts on windows that you do not want to press. Clicking on the escape button in the top right of the screen still opens up the previewed page.
Thanks to the Developer Gidi - this works as advertised. Waiting for the few bugs previously mentioned in the reviews to get fixed. Gidi- please consider adding two key options to this extension - activate on hover (with optional time setting to control speed of opening, ex. after 2 secs, etc) - remember preview window position and size (full size preview opening is ok but should be optional to enable uninterrupted browsing of main page) To me, the purpose of an extension like this is for convenience-to check a link to see if it has content you actually want to view, ideally without additional clicking / key pressing. As it is now, there are multiple addtional clicks / key presses required to make that happen vs just directly going to the link: 1-hotkey press and click 2-possible preview window resize 3-possible click to navigate to link/open in popup 4-click / key press to escape out of preview window As an example, the extension Search Results Previewer is an excellent implementation of this methodology. Its primary limitation is that it only works on google search. Your effort on GPeeker is definitely appreciated for making the functionality generally applicable.
getting this issue: Unfortunately, the website is refusing to load the content via an iFrame.
It almost works. When hovering over a link, the preview window opens when shift is pressed. Unfortunately, when shift is released, it navigates to the previewed page. Also, the preview window is much too large. With it covering the entire screen, there's almost no reason to not just open the page as a new window/tab since I have to manually navigate away from the page after 'previewing'. A lot of potential, but really misses the mark as far as usability.
99% of the time it works like it should! Love it. Super helpful. I have noticed an odd bug that I can reproduce. Sometimes, after pressing the escape key to close the popup, pressing the shift key when hovering over a link does not work. So I just stopped using the escape key and click outside of the popup. Problem solved. But it would be nice to use the escape key.
Well done! Amazing tool!
the only extension that actually do this thing
the best extension on the internet so far!
Love the extension, keep up the great work.
This extension is incredible, it does exactly as advertised and works well.
Wow! It's actually working!
Doesnt work at all.
Works really great. Only (very) annoying thing : Shift enables to open the preview link. Which is fine. But we need a shortcut to remove the preview and stay on the main page. Having to click outside the preview is often not really convenient. Thanks for coding that extension anyway. Really useful.
Same as another commenter: "Just does not work for me. Hover over link, hit SHIFT, nothing happens."
This works not when you press SHIFT, but when you *release* the SHIFT key! It would be nice if hitting ESC would make the preview window go away, instead of having to click outside the preview window, which is a pain. (Running in Chrome Version 84.0.4147.135 (Official Build) (64-bit) on macOS Catalina).
ONLY ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED! also works with Brave browser (based on chrome)....didn't give it 5 stars b/c seems to work with most sites (~75%), but some sites says "www.anysitehere.com refused connection"...probably not a problem with this extension...works very well with wiki sites, where I find most use anyway. SUGGESTION: adjustable or small preview that can be positioned on one side of the page would be amazing!
Works great, I just wish it was also available on Firefox as I am a core Firefox user

working flawlessly
Just does not work for me. Hover over link, hit SHIFT, nothing happens.
Perfectly simple
great for looking at reddit comments without having to open a new tab
Works great even in https websites, except facebook and twitter. Moreover, On facebook, the extension is activated whenever I press the Shift while writing a comment.
