i like it its amazing feature for chrome customization

how do you set the tabs to rainbow

Kept freezing the rain, vid speed didn't work, also search bar + short cuts gone, Watched the vid and I'm confused.

it a good extension and work awhile but it get bugged and make my screen white complety when i reinstail it does nothing but the same it also say fatal error.unable to acces settings,is there any way i could fix this?

6/5 stars, this extension made the google logo on the homepage basically gone same for the search bar but sometimes if you don't have any bookmarks and when you get this extension then get a bookmark its not like in homepage like thing area under the URL it's instead under the three dots and at bookmarks which i dont really mind. AND you can add audio/videos to it which is better than gifs. I would recommend this to the entire universe even aliens.

I loved it so much when i first got it. Now it won't work at all. All I get now is solid colors. No images at all.

It worked for a while and then it just broke. I reinstalled it multiple times and nothing occurs. I can't even open the settings page.

Been trying to figure this out for years and gave up! Now I found this and its exactly what I wanted!

AWESOME 5 STARS !!!!! Also easy to figure out and install for somebody like myself who isn't that computer savvy.

This is a 5 star app. One suggestion that would make this even better, if this was linked to Google Calendar and/or Google Tasks to show your appointments and/or to do list in a nice looking font, that would make it even more awesome. Great job on making this, it's very cool looking.

Hello, It seems there's an issue with the addon lately, it keeps removing/deleting the image I use as default for a new tab and just leaves it blank. Reinstalling the addon didn't help, and most of the times I just have to re-add the image in the addon two times before it can actually load it. It seems it's encountering and error or some such issue. Any help would be appreciated.

not sure how it works but it just makes my backround plain white with no text and the settings page replaces my cursor with a bunch of blue curves anyone got a fix?

since the latest update, opening chrome defaults to this extension's settings page. anyone got a fix? edit: it now fixed :)

Worked just fine until recently. Now just about every other time I open chrome it just defaults to a white screen. I need to re-input my images every time to get them back. Not sure what changed or why this is happening now, but before the most recent update it was working perfectly. Hoping this gets fixed soon because it was a very good extension before, but for now it's probably not worth downloading, at least until this gets fixed.

Worked for years. Author broke something that wasn't broken. Now it throws up a big red error banner. Uninstalled.

i have to uninstall. i'm using it in edge not chrome, but it used to work properly. after the update when i close the browser tab it immediately reopens to the clear new tab settings page, no matter what.

It's great but why does the Settings page open whenever I start Chrome? annoying

RUINED by "Update" ... up until last night, this was one of the best chrome extensions ever. And they ruined it. Lost the ability to rotate background images, making this a simple "wallpaper" app. Thanks guys.

I love this extension, sometimes the Google Doodle would get annoying or really cause lag on my machine. then I found a version of this that broke the Chrome Web Store rules, then found this one. I am really glad I found thids extension, sadly with the latest update I lost all my backgrounds, thankfully I still had them on my computer, problem is, I forgor which images I had loaded! {eep!} So I guess its time for a clean slate.... aheh All told its a great extension; just wished there was a notice of an update coming so I could remembver what I had for theme backgrounds

Takes some time to learn how it works, but once you do it does a wonderful job with customization. If you like having widgets, this might not be for you, but if you want a simple color, image, video, etc. then this comes highly recommended.

I do like the app and how simple it is to navigate, what I love is the option to make one myself, I have always been a little OCD .when it comes to aesthetics

Why doesn't save settings, when after disabling and enabling extensions again... not good Why is it blinking from white to black when opening a new page? is it a chrome thing?

it's good and does the job well. but occasional error keep occuring every month or 2. I got to reinstall it everytime.

Does a lot more than I expected it to. You can add multiple images to create slideshows or just upload a video with customizable timings and everything 11/10

Extension continually fails in the sense that when turning on the PC and logging in, what was saved in Clear New Tab has totally disappeared and has to be put back. Have had to do this literally a dozen times and so I am uninstalling "Clear New Tab"

Loads blank page with lots of options for the background. Unfortunately, cannot find how to set it up to use google theme backgrounds. Anyways, does a great job

AMAZING, I love that you can add videos, but! There should options like "keep video playing when tab isn't selected." and "playlist mode" that will change the video once its over. other than that, i loved it

I love this thing amazing extension

the only extension i can find that allows you to upload your own video, even with sound if you want. only problem is i wish there was a version of this extension that allowed for our bookmarks, search bar, and apps we wanted to stay. but other than that i really am impressed at the customization you get for free

I've been using this extension for a while. I'm not sure if it's a change on Chrome's end or on your application's end, but recently it has been hanging for a moment upon the launch of a new browser. Opening a new tab works as quickly as ever, but launching a whole new Chrome browsing session causes the screen to remain white for about 3 seconds. I am a vampire and cannot handle this much light. Halp.

The latest version of Chrome seems to have broken 'Clear New Tab'. I really liked it when it was working.

up until about a year ago this app was great...no problems....but ever since they've been 'upgrading' it i get nothing but a blank black page for options and a blank white page for a new tab...i'm sick of waiting for some genius to fix it properly...i just love the human nature attribute of totally screwing something up because it works fine...i'm out...deleting this exercise in futility

Does what it says on the box, can't ask for much more. It removes the stupid Favicons (and everything else), so it does what I wanted it to do.

its good, but before the update, i was able to close the chrome browser and reopen it with the same picture i had before it closed, now its just white screen now, no theme, just white and i have to set up the theme all over again.

Was already wonderful to use, then they updated it with more features! Awesome, thanks a lot.

Seems to work perfectly fine and requires minimal permissions to work.

Downloaded the "Orange Tabs" theme. In my review of the theme, said I was reluctant to download this extension. Did a little digging around & found it was ok. Downloaded the extension & found it was a good decision.Apart from not having the shortcuts like the default New Tabs, overall, another brilliant piece of work.

I've been trying to find an extension to remove the recently visited links from the new tab page. I've installed a theme and the links had it mostly covered. Thanks for this extension which allows me to just display the theme image!

There are a lot of clear new tab extensions but most of them don't work with themes.Some work but they are very complex as it needs coding to work, but this one is very simple and it works too.

Software is fine, chrome just disables it for some weird reason. I feel really bad for the devs cuz they did nothing wrong. Screw you, Chrome.

It'd be a lot better if we can see bookmarks bar, cause typing each time you wanna get in a site its kinda tired. Besides that everything its ok. ^^
