opened up a google forms tab asking about selling my informationdo not recommend if you must have it i recommend exporting it from google chrome and doing a little editing to the code and readding it to get rid of anything that grabs data

As of Jan 2023, some people report it works, other that it doesn't. My experience: completely useless. It requires "refresh" (F5) every single time, which means it's slower than simply manually going to YT resolution settings and reselecting the 1080p that I want, and need to do every single time!

Google-- Why isn't this built into YouTube? Why do we need an EXTENSION for the most basic functionality? Why do I need five different extensions to make YouTube decent (or just how it was a few years ago). The extensions works very well.

Set it to 1080, worked for the first video, then it auto sets it to 4k. Refreshed the page and still set to 4k. Removed and re-added, same thing happens.

Used to work like a charm, now it's often letting YouTube drop the resolution.

This actually works, unlike some others which won't be named yet promise the sky in terms of features. This one may not make wild promises, but it works, and that's what matters.

For me it only ever works on videos that have 4k and 8k, all the others it sets the quality to 720p, which is anoying when I want it at 1080p

Been using this for years and it's flawless but is there a way to set it to display resolution. On my monitor I prefer 1440p but on my OLED tv 4k is my resolution of choice.

I have tried many such extensions. This is superior by far. Easy to use and uncluttered.

Love it! Just wish there was an option to have it automatically change to theater mode. Hopefully that can get added in the next release.

When enabled, going to certain sites, I was being redirected to ad sites then forwarded to the original site. I have few extensions installed. Once I disabled this one, my issues went away.

It was great but after a while it didn't work 75% of the time.

It may seem like overkill but I am using 2 extensions to force proper youtube quality 480p on a 1440p screen with 1gbps internet is annoying youtube!! Does exactly what it says and I really appreciate the simple yet elegant UI. Paired this with 'SponsorBlock' and 'Return YouTube dislike' extensions... watching YouTube has never been more enjoyable.

Just wondering if anyone has found a work around for when it stops automatically setting video quality and makes you have to refresh every time? Great extension for the first 2 or 3 days but it's annoying now.

Doesn't seem to work on initial opening of each video, need to refresh after opening THEN it works. Pretty dang annoying and it basically consumes the same amount of interaction to manually select the video quality.

It doesn't seem to work anymore. Video loads in as auto (360p), the extension changes the quality to my preferred setting (1080p), and then youtube switches the quality back to auto (360p).

This extension does one thing, and it does it very well. I configure it to a desired quality setting, and YouTube videos play at that setting. Perfection! What more could anybody ask for?

Works very well, just make sure to set the extension to be able to modify data on youtube ONLY. There is NO need for it to have access to all data.

Very awesome thanks! A feature I'd like if possible is to be able to set the the next lowest resolution if the selected one isn't possible. For example, if I set this extension to 1440p and the max is 1080p, it will load in 360p as youtube decides. Thus, I just set default to 1080p since that is the max for most, but then I miss out on potential 1440p videos that can be less blurry. Please make it so the next lowest, like 1080p, is selected if not available.

I love it. Can anything else say my feelings more than that?

Not sure why it needs permission to "read and change data on all websites". But hey.. the extension works fine.

It is recommended to automatically set the playback speed.

It's really quite sad that we have to rely on an addon just to force youtube to play videos at the highest quality setting because auto just defaults to 360p despite having all the 5G's surging through my rectum at mach speed. I really think Alphabet's board of directors should just fire Suzan Wojiccik for the ineptitude surrounding youtube in particular, it really is frustrating that I have to go out of my way to download an addon but here we are. The addon does what I want it to do, it forces all youtube videos to load at the highest quality setting. and for that I rate this addon a 10/10.

Tried it and it works. It's simple and easy to use which is really nice as well. It's super annoying that we have to use an extension to even have this functionality and Google just doesn't build it into YouTube, but I'm glad that it exists

Nice!!! It really SET it to what I want!!!

I love the concept of this mod, but it needs some refinement. When I select a resolution it needs to treat that as a goal and select the highest available up to the resolution. It also needs support for 60 fps video selections. My preference is for 1440p 60fps video. It should set it to the highest available setting up to my preference. As it stands now the extension does nothing if your desired setting is unavailable.

Worked perfectly, now all of my YouTube videos are in my preferred video resolution.

Works as it's advertised However giving 4 Stars because of Privacy practices which are not mentioned.

Finally one that works. Does what i need it to do, and nothing more nothing less. For that perfect score from me.

Why does this need permission to see my browsing history. I Wish I never installed this garbage.

Working perfectly for me currently. Only thing I think would make it better would be an option to have a list of channels where I might prefer a higher resolution video. (not really interested in talking heads at 4k, but watching some awesome sailing footage requires 4k if it's there)
