This is a nice simple plugin that does exactly what I want. Which is maximizes the main content of the web applications in a way that F11 (full screen in the browser doesn't...certainly on a mac). On my MacBook when I fullscreen Chrome, you still have the tabs, address bar and bookmark bar. This plugin maximizes the content of the page to fullscreen, in a similar way to maximizing a youtube video. I find this particularly helpful on my 13" macbook when doing things like Scratch with my daughter or looking at my work email in the cluttered Outlook Web App.
This is the one that retains your maximized status after exiting full screen. All the rest don't work.
Works like a charm!
