Avira makes them "pre-installing" extensions where they always re-install themselves when a new Chrome user profile is created. And then they DO NOT remove them when their antivirus is removed from the user system. Poor software management from their side.

Great extension I've had no problems as of yet. It does the job it say's it will. I just wish I could use it in Microsoft Windows 10.

ALLWAYS INSTALL when start NEW PROFILE! But I don't give any permission. It uses scripts and run all the time when I open a new profile! In all browsers. Deleting doesn't help, reinstalling the browser doesn't help! Clearing the registry does not help! Nothing helps! I installed Avira antivirus once. A day later, 3 errors appeared in the browser that someone was trying to install the Avira SafeShopping, Avira Browser Safety, Avira Password Manager extensions. Immediately deleted everything. But as soon as I open a new profile in the browser - immediately this error! Nothing helps! Avira tech support ignores this problem! They just imposed this garbage on me! I don't want to see it EVER

The ads is great, but the unsafe blocker control should be by user since i cant turned it off, some content is miss detected as unsafe

it is good except every time i log onto online banking, it says my password is public and i chage it but it still keeps doing that.

Very Good at blocking trackers and ads - it actually shows you how many it's blocked which is reassuring. I FOUND THAT IT DOES NOT START WORKING UNTIL YOU GO TO ITS SETTINGS AND CLICK 'BLOCK TRACKERS AND ADS...'. also, a company complained about getting empty posts, I think that can be fixed if the users disable 'send do not track header'. Thank you

It is a very nice extension. It protected me from adds and trackers a LOT which kept my device and my personal information safe. I can't believe something as useful as this is free!

Ad blocker stopped working, probably uninstall if it's not supported now.

The ad blocker works great but have found that it greys out all my files In Google Drive and can't open them unless open Extensions and turn it off then turn it on again when finished in Google Drive

I love it. It blocks those annoying ads on Youtube too. And blocks trackers and malicious sites. I think you should remove the other ad blocker you may have. Avira safe browsing has them all in one!

It seems to block ads and trackers perfectly. But I don't think it blocks any malicious websites from what I saw in the extension UI and settings as there are no options regarding blocking malicious websites, only ads and tracker options are listed there.

I had to disable this because every time i went on amazon it would open a little window displaying other prices on other websites for the same item i have been looking up on amazon or other shopping websites, saying "i found a better price for this item!" Very annoying-

Blocks valid websites and doesn't offer an easy way for those sites to get off the block list.

The extension was working fine till few days back. Now it is blocking Youtube videos from loading. Have to disable this.

Yeah i will give it props for being able to block ads, like it should, but in the last like 2 days i have been trying to load youtube videos and it has just been on a black screen, tonight i figured out that it was the avira browser safety extension, i turn it off and the yotube works but now i get the video starting ads, the little pop up ads at the bottom. i don't understand why its doing this because it has always been on and has never done this to me before

I have many sites that are now using madmimi. You say is spam. How can I allow my sites to use it. You have become very annoying lately with no way to allow it easily.

I would've given it a decent rating. However, it has started adding an advertising bar to the top of many pages on the internet (usually shopping sites) where you can supposedly find a better price on whatever you're looking at. Thanks to this intrusive and annoying ad system, I am uninstalling it. Ridiculous.

Was using ublock origin before this and it stopped some sites from loading things completely. After switching to this extension it worked like a charm and I love it so much! Definitely works for me.

Could have been great, but had to get rid of it as there was no was to disable it's terrible shopping suggestions feature. Almost as bad as the pop up ads I was hoping to block. Fortunately Adguard exists on it own. Do yourself a favour and get that instead

I believe this app has started pushing pop up advertising with no way to disable. It's incredibly annoying and the extension will be disabled until this is removed.

I was attracted to this Extension (Avira Browser Safety) via my use Avira Antivirus Pro (paid Software) for all my business computers. I installed it in the beginning of the year and used it along with uBlock Origin. Avira Browser Safety seemed to work well until some weeks ago. Found out, as also other users mention, that Avira Browser Safety posts "Better price available" adds with a shopping cart icon. It took me some time to realize that this ad came from Avira Browser Safety. I found no way on Avira Browser Safety to opt out from this unwanted advertising. The policy of Avira to have its Browser Safety Extension to pop up own adds is not acceptable to me. Avira Browser Safety since some weeks also slows down Google search and browser experience. Therefore just uninstalled the Extension to continue uBlock Origin. As Avira Browser Safety seems to rely on AdGuard, it would anyway be a better option to use AdGuard Extension directly (no display of "better price" adds and no slowing down of the browser).

While this is a decent ad blocker, it actually displays its own adds over various websites. It shows a shopping cart icon and the text "Better price available at these sellers" when searching for products on google or amazon. I saw no way of disabling this feature, and AVIRA makes no mention of it anywhere on the product page which I find very deceitful. I had to use Chrome's developer tools to figure out where the add was even coming from. I will be removing the extension immediately after I post this review.

Great adblock which isn't detected by a lot of sites. Better than adblocker by far!

One of the very best browser extensions out there. I use it for YouTube on almost a daily basis and get a 100% ad-free experience at no cost. Works perfectly on other websites too! A must-have if you're someone like me.

The extension is OK, but it does not know basic networking, programmers have to learn a lot. What is the purpose to try to connect to the internet, if internet is not available and I try to access my local router on 192.168.xxx.xxx This shows me that someone without any basic networking knowledge is trying to be a programmer. I like the company and I am using their products for very, very long time. I hope you will fix it soon. Best regards.

I give it 5 star for only n only it takes least permission in chrome webstore i.e.reading history,it blocks ads surely no idea about trackers though yes it has no custom ad block option but those blockers and every ad blockers in chrome webstore ask for "read an change all data" which I hate it's against privacy may be they have no other option left and some ad blocker even want permission to "change my privacy settings" now that is way too much threat though may not understood by all..YES AVIRA CAN NOT BLOCK AD CUSTOMIZE WAY AND SOMETIMES IT BLOCKS ADS SUCH THAT ONLINE VIDEO PLAYER'S SOME BUTTONS LIKE CHANGE RESOLUTION NOT SEEN WHEN IT'S ON HOPE AT LEAST MY LAST ISSUE WHICH I TOLD AVIRA FIX SOON.REST GOOD EXTENSION.

Dreadful. Breaks many websites i use regularly that have a clickable 'reply' or 'respond' or 'post comment' button. Like NextDoor, ActBlue, DailyKos, etc. Probably many more; but I removed it after I noticed the problem with them. And the problem then went away. Also, couldn't comment here after I removed this extension. Had to re-install it to make this comment, I will delete it again immediately after this. Good way to censor negative comments. Anybody who found it harmful & removed it is not allowed to make a comment on it.

I give this Five Stars because this thing has protected for over two years now. I'm happy. Sad I don't get the shields to tell me when a search result is bad anymore but atleast the extension blocks it from loading to prevent damage. 10/10.

A PERFECT ad-blocker!! Honestly, I have been using this for ages and it works like a charm. I never see ads anymore. This ad-blocker is also rarely detected by sites (unlike AdBlocker and many others) so I don't have to disable it.

the extension is very good for me,it does the job well,its a little slow loading the page at the start that you opening the browser but i use it for years and a few small problems it isnt a deal.for me its a must have that i always install it again on a fresh machine ,also with malwarebytes extension and my main av and ad guard together,i dont care about a small latency,i know that ad guard engine is also used by avira extension but with that way there s not a single ad to buypass.i would put five stars but the last weeks the reputation icon appers next to search results, that showing wich site is bad is vanished and i reinstall avira extension and again im facing the same thing.i dont think its a virus that is disabling the icon cause avira works on fake fishing websites or see something weird,anyone knows if this is a bug or something or avira stoped the reputation icon next to search results?anyone can help please to give me an answer il appreciate cause im worrying if its something bad that does that to the icon...thanks anyway it served me well those years...

Nice Addon

This add on blocks any JavaScript files with the word tracking in the filename from loading. There can be many legitimate uses of a file with that word as part of the filename but any website doing so will cease to function as it should.

Dear, Your addon is sending empty post requests towards websites that the user is visiting. We are asking our users to uninstall it or disable it.

Avira claims that only the user can install it, but it slips in when you install Chrome, you have to be proactive to prevent it. Made a reliable 70+ mbps connection feel like a 1998 dial up.

A very good adblocker, but when I click on the icon in the top right there's just a blank popup.

This really helped...there are so many invasive,relentless and annoying ads out there...this helped block most,if not all,of them ads.

It work great but it started having problems where the text on my google doc goes out of the screen and I can't do anything about it.

When I launch it, it takes about 2 minutes before my homepage is shown. It states that it is loading the Avira extension. After these two minutes it does the job but it could load faster.

Totally useful extension which deals with both ads and malicious websites.

Works like an ad block in a tank. A 2 in 1 extension dealing with both ads and unsafe sites. You could uninstall the others now.

Did not ask for this to be installed, the way this company FORCES you to uninstall it is appalling. Find another AV program.

This is a malicious extension that installs itself without my permission every time I create a new Chrome profile. There is no way to permanently remove it. It comes back. I've uninstalled the AVIRA antivirus last year but it's still hijacking the browser.

This was a great program for a little while - but then they added a completely annoying peice of adware - a price checker, that you can't disable. This extension is now no more than SPAM.

Works pretty good so far, successfully blocked AMTSO test link (http://www.amtso.org/check-desktop-phishing-page/). Unlike WOT, ABS blocks the infected webpage before it loads. The new update also further improve its usability.

Well, it's a free product so feel free to create a banner ad at the top of my screen when I shop. But you've also remove any option to disable the feature. I'm gone.
