It's pretty useful if you don't turn off your computer, but if you do you not only lose the windows it saved but they don't show up in your search history so you can't retrieve it later, I had dozens of recipes and job listings open and now they're all gone.

Doesn't work. Using it on Brave - it says my session of 24 tabs is saved, but when I try to open the session, my current window gets closed and no new windows open.

Used it for a years already. Default extension.

Brilliant extension! I've been using it all the time for years.

This is a great extension until they update, then it wipes out all your saved tab groups. I had at least 30 and now they are gone which is very frustrating. I only wish they had a search of saved tab groups to make it ease to find them if you have a lot. I will keep using this extension but only for temporary groups, it's to dangerous to loose all saved groups to trust it for more.

I liked this extension a lot...until they released an updated and it cleared out all of my saved groups

Works great on Chrome, but seems to delete all saved sessions on Brave when it is updated. Anyway to prevent this?

This is exactly what I needed. No useless features or buttons that do nothing. Window tabs automatically save when closed.

The perfect solution for a Tab Ninja! I usually have 30+ tabs at the same time with CMS, CRM, Facebook Ads, Google Ads and so forth. It's a mess. But this helps me keep tabs organized and it speeds up my workflow. Thank you!

This is a fantastic aid! It works. I save lots of Chrome windows with numerous tabs and can then shut any window to save computing power and ram and easily open them all up when I need them. It also helps as a backup when Chrome or the computer shuts down unexpectedly and Chrome doesn't automatically restore all the open windows. Thank you very much!

This is a must have. It's basic functionality that should have been included in base Chrome ages ago

I really enjoy this extension, especially when I have to keep multiple tabs available for work projects. I have had issues, however, such as whenever the extension is updated, it deletes ALL of my saved windows, and I have no way of getting the grouped tabs back. It sort of defeats its purpose if you need to save something just before an update. Otherwise, it's been mostly good, with only a few lost windows this past year (not update-related).

i had tried many other related extesions, but this one is the best. It organizes all tabs same positions as they were closed, really helpful, it's simple and easy, low memory consumption. Hope the author could update it, since it has been long time with no updates, though still working as it suppose to. I looked for a way to make a donation, but couldn't find any. Great job. Tks

Exactly what I was looking for. I tried out half a dozen other tab/session manager addons and for some reason none of them are able to just automatically save my windows as they were when I close them. "Simple Window Saver" seems to be doing just that, and it's working fine so far. The only other plugin I found that was able to do so was "Tabs Outliner" - but that's just overkill for what I want. Do you have a way to donate to the project? I can spare a few bucks for something that simplifies my tab-infested life.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this extension. My browser tabs and windows multiply like bunnies, and this really helps me keep them organized.

Did not save instance (url+data). Only url and tab. Too simple!!! not worth it at all. Amature extension

I like it very much. It has allowed me to have items available with one click while not having them open and running and slowing down my computer. Instead of having 37 things open in drop downs, I can retrieve them with a click. I wish there were some simple instructions available for it.

this is great for saving a large number of open windows. Especially useful for research on specific topics, the windows can be saved for later review

I love minimalist extensions. This one does it job and does not annoy me.

Certainly simple, but just what I needed! I wanted to be able to get home, or to the office and select a 'Business' bunch of tabs, or 'Personal' bunch of tabs and this has achieved exactly that. Thanks for the app!

Good idea, but horribly unstable, Ive lost count of how many times it has lost my SAVED sessions...its like, YOU HAD ONE JOB

I would be useful to have filter just on the top to be able to filter already saved windows.

Simple and works. I just wish there was an easy way to move tabs between windows.

Not trustworthy. It was really good for a while, then it threw away all my windows, forcing me to recover as best I could from bookmarks, history, and my memory.

Was working great, but just stopped working after an update. Button is gone. Too bad, love how small the extension is.

I love the simplicity of it. Very easy to use. However, it has crashed far too many times when I have 10+ tabs saved. I check back and they are all gone. I can't use something that crashes. SAD!

Where has this been all my online life? This is going to save me many headaches of keeping too many tabs open in one window. I just installed it, tested it slightly, and it looks like it works great...so far, excellent!

This a very nice practical extension, however some functionality is missing IMHO: Please consider: 1. Click to sort the list 2. Drag/Move items manually up/down in the list. 3. Disable/Enable items 4. Select font and row size. (I prefer a compact list and list tends to get long) 5. Renaming items 6. Datestamp on items, display alternative sort on dates.

Simple and does exactly what it says. Analytics blockers do not seem to impact functionality. This saves me *so* much time, as opposed to saving all tabs as bookmarks in a folder, which I must clean up later. I can also group project pages together and open them all at once. Nice job and props to the authors, especially for having a link to the source on GitHub!

I'd give it 5 stars but I just started having a problem. After restarting Chrome it can't seem to remember that one of my windows has a name. If I go to that name from another window I get to the right place, but it's also asking me to name that window once I'm there (instead of saying "this is xxx").

I really like this extension, especially how it tracks changes to the window. Too bad I can't sync to other devices.

I love you! This is exactly what I was looking for. If you use virtual desktops to manage different projects this is a must, it doesn't get in your way and provides all the necessary functionality without clutter. I wish the UI was a bit better though, the green box with the tabs counter is a little distracting.

Update August 20, 2017 Used daily for 20 months now and I'm still very happy. Very simple and very reliable. No crashes, bugs, or lost tabs. Jan 2, 2016 Downloaded tonight and tested it. Superb so far! After trying many tab management apps for Chrome and never finding one that replaced the ease of Firefox tabs I think I have finally found it! For the reviewers that want to rename your tab groups; you can do it easily by opening the window, then deleting the group name from Window Saver without closing the Chrome Window itself. Then save the Chrome Window again under a new name in Window Saver. Simple as the name says! Sync across devices is not available, but I need to get away from the instability and resource hogging of Firefox Tab Groups. I think this is my solution.

This really is the best tab manager for my purposes. I love the instant save of my current set of open tabs this enables. I *really* miss being able to sync my tabs across devices. It's the only missing feature keeping this from five stars for me. I've been trying to find an alternative, but none of them beat this extension for ease of use and simplicity.

This extension saves me unbelievable amounts of time and frustration. No more aimlessly wandering through windows looking for that one tab. Simple. Effective.

Very clean, does exactly what I need.

Just found this and am super excited. Initial tests all check out. Finally I can use Chrome and get away from Firefox. This was the one thing preventing and this extension solved the problem. Man I wished I had found this sooner

great because I always have too many tabs open, now I categorize them and stuff them in the saver for later to save on memory. especially useful when I need to restart chrome because I can save the windows I REALLY need and just restart, and I don't have to worry about the tab restoring not remembering tabs sometimes

I've lost all my tabs for a saved window many times. It seems to happen whenever I'm opening/closing tabs at a quick rate. This needs to be fixed.

The fifth star comes when you let us change the title of the window instead of starting all over again

I love the fact that I don't need to manually re-save it whenever I modify a window, it just keeps track of their content. EDIT: found a bug though: it just happened to me that one of my long-term-open windows got overwritten by another window, so I've lost whatever tabs I've had open in there.

Just what I needed so it wouldn't use up all my internet (fewer lagspikes in Gaming C:), but I wouldn't lose the windows I was viewing.

Simple as advertised. Keeps me from leaving hundreds of tabs open all the time and hoping they'll return after a reboot.

love it. its perfect. not just saves the session, but also updates it as you close and open tabs when u re-open it later. this should be a default feature in chrome!!

How did I survive without this before? Elegantly simply, does exactly what I need to keep track of my many open windows.

So helpful. Now if i accidentally hit the big stupid Close button on chrome. It automatically saves it.

LOVE it but it doesn't always save my tabs and when Chrome crashes it won't always keep the saved one so I end up losing everything I had opened.

I love this extension! I helps me save my research and still shut down the window so it doesn't slow my computer down. I only wish I could share the saved window with a friend. That would be a great addition

I love the fact that I can save my tabs and update chrome or my computer and come right back to what I was doing.

Initial impression is favorable: does exactly what it says it does without much intrusion. Will get a fifth start if the saved windows are available cross-device, or window names were searchable from control-F and the Omnibox.

This is a great tab/window manager for Chrome. Easy to use, very resilient in the face of system crashes and unexpected reboots. Always lets me get my windows back to where they last were.

Much easier to use (and therefore more likely to be used, and therefore more useful) than alternatives. Two nits: - keeps telling me there is a new update when there isn't - if you re-open tabs on startup, it doesn't recognize which windows were what

The included functionality is excellent. allows me to maintain ~150 tabs easily on the fly without messing with hordes of bookmarks, and only having a few open at a time. Some suggestions: while the focus is on simplicity, a few small features would go a long way. 1. Edit button - allowing you to rename the bundle 2. folders! so I can group sets of bundles that relate to each other (I have a LOT of tabs....) 3. Google sync - so I can access saved tabs across multiple PCs) Thanks for a really good extension :)

Same issue as Jessica Arena

Have used for 1+ year... all of a sudden it's started losing my tabs. I've run several tests today - I make sure to save a window, name it, etc. I check that it's saved in the list. Then I restart my computer and the new tab is gone. What's up?

Would love to lose be able to clear the "news" from the bottom of the list view of windows.

I AGREE BUT ... SOMETIMES A WIND0W NAME ENDS UP HAVING THE SAME TABS AS ANOTHER NAME SO ITS OWN TABS ARE LOST, SO IN FACT I'M REVERTING TO TMT (TOO MANY TABS) ... Superbly simple and effective, but no doubt required a lot of complex work. I can't think of a single reason to keep TooManyTabs. (Of course, if the windows were stored remotely, we could access them from elsewhere.)

Great, easy extension. I can understand why others want added options and features, but the whole idea of this one is KISS!

My only wish is the saved windows would roam or I could export the saved data. I'm about to get a new PC and I have no way to back up my many saved windows.

I've been using this for several years and couldn't live without it. I use to save groups of tabs that I use regularly, as well as random groups of tabs I want to save for reference.

Just one issue when we re-install this extension, then this is not synced.

Simple, clean, and gets the job done.

I love how it does exactly what I needed it to do without any complications. I use it mainly to group tabs in windows that I can name and find easily. To save a window, type the name in the input box and press Return while the cursor is still in the box (it took a bit for me to understand how it works, so I pass this to others). For now, it seems to be reliable in saving windows even after they have been closed.

Lost my tabs all the time for various reasons. Suddenly there were conflicts between windows with duplicates and suddenly one window became another. Don't bother if you have stuff you won't lose.

I feel it is Nice to have the solid 10 limit. After all I do have this thing called bookmarks for the billion of those floating around : )
