Now the extension doesnt stay enabled and i have to activate it manually after every use.

According to the Developer's Sourceforge page, this extension does not work with Google Podcasts. That's the only reason I downloaded it. I'm deleting it.

It worked fine until the latest update to Chrome. Since then, if it is enabled, media keys don't work for anything while Chrome is open.

fully functional, however turns itself off on all sites every time chrome closes. please fix, it worked fine a couple weeks ago.

i switched to Torch browser and this extension is a life saver! thank you developer! <3

Works pretty well but I wish it wouldn't Hijack keys when no player is playing on chrome. Also is there any possibility for audible support? Would be awesome!

Sadly, it doesn't work anymore for YouTube. It used to work, though. Now, when I try to pause a video, it just pauses for a moment and starts playing right away.

Works great with Das Keyboard media keys. Essential for listening to Google Play Music in the background.

Control Chrome: Play/Pause as normal Control Spotify: CTRL+Play/Pause or ALT+Play/Pause Absolutely amazing work, such a such a simple change, but huge quality of life improvement. I can now control both Chrome and Spotify with my hardware media keys. Thank you very much!!!

This is very useful and saves time when skipping songs with Tidal. I think a cool feature enhancement would be to have the page title scroll the song playing so that I know the name of a song without opening the tab, sort of like Facebook messenger on PC. Overall great app and does exactly as it suggests!

Same as others! Works on YouTube, not many others. I doubt the list of supported services is accurate! It didn't work for me in TuneIn

Thank you! <3 My new must have for Chrome. Why on earth aren't media key controls part of the standards for websites to use?! Upon a quick Google I came across an outdated fork of this. Thankfully someone suggested this! It's not perfect though. It is absolutely terrible with multiple tabs. It is *something* though.

Apparently, Key Socket Media Keys aren't compatible with macOS Mojave (yet). Would love to see a fix, since I'm fan of this add-on and want to give 5 stars again! :)

Works great. I'd like to be able to blacklist certain sites, but it's not a huge issue.

When you hold the button for just a bit it pauses and plays very fast; or it skips more than one track (Win10 & Soundcloud) THX to the dev

Works as advertised. If it doesn't work for you, try closing and reopening Chrome, and it should work.

Doesn't work with "YouTube Music" that comes with YT Premium.

Only thing that made my Corsair keyboard media keys work! Tried everything else. Can you please update this with the new Youtube music website? Then it would be perfect.

The best extension! makes my life easier.

Straight forward and does what it says. Tested on Pocketcasts and Youtube. Even works on some sites not listed (di.fm at least).

By far it is one of the best extensions I have, but I have two suggestions/problems... - The extension intercepts the media keys input before media players so it needs to be disabled to you can play pause other apps (eg windows media player) - There should be a button that disables all of (and all but one) tab across chrome windows. These options currently only the tabs in the same window.

Just Tried It. I had a Bluetooth DAC/AMP and i used it to allow the media controls to work for YouTube.

It works but the permission it asks for is very broad. I'd prefer if it's limited to a set of websites or a narrower scope than "read and change anything on any website"

No longer works with the new Spotify Web App

Media keys wasn't working for slacker in chrome unless it was the targeted window. I mainly listen while playing WoW so it was a pain to have to alt tab to pause, skip, etc. this does exactly what is says where media keys can be used no matter what application you are in. Note you must refresh the current the page after installing for it to become effective.

This is a whole new world.

StreamKeys didnt work for me but this worked perfectly for controlling my music on Youtube

Works well for multitasking. Doesn't work on Pandora site anymore since late 2016.

Works almost flawlessly. I use it almost every minute that I'm on my computer, and I love the fact that it works even when Chrome isn't your active window.

Super useful. I have media keys bound to IR remote. Now I can control YouTube with remote thanks to this extension.

Stopped working with yt when window wasnt on top / minimized / I was on another tab. Started using Streamkeys instead.

Amazing can listen to a pod cast whilst playing steam games and pause YouTube when there is dialogue.

It just works with the google music. And it's perfect. I did not even think that this is possible. Thank you guys!

This little extension is great. Allows you to control your streaming media with you hardware media buttons. No fuss or set up needed.

Works great with google music.

Pretty good. Seems to issue 2 key presses for every 1 actual press (e.g. skips 2 songs instead of just one). Sometimes works as expected if you press it fast enough( e.g. play/pause button will leave you in the same state unless you mash the button)

Perfect to control YouTube videos(and more things) while playing video games etc.

Finally an extensions that works with media keys. Tested with Google Play Music and Spotify Web

how to use ?

A fantastic little plugin that works with more plugins than any other that I've used. And what's more, if another program that uses media keys is the active window, it will still be able to use them. However, would it be possible to have a "Button" to toggle the extension on and off. As I go between using YouTube and VLC while I have chrome open, which means that VLC won't respond if Chrome was opened first (it has priority). So a toggle for it would make it perfect :D

It doubles almost everything I press... pressing next, goes 2 songs forward.

Works exactly as I expected with Google Music, including when I only have the mini player open.

Hey this is great, very helpful when I'm using play music, although I've noticed very recently that it's stopped working with youtube, at least for me, I'm not sure whether it has anything to do with the new video interface they've introduced but it's annoying now that I can't use it on Youtube (Pls Fix)
