This extension is very great since it saves to a decentralized archive. However, one feature it could use is an auto-archive switch that saves pages that haven't previously been archived. That would make things easier. Also, Youtube video archiving would be nice.
I saw a new-to-me thing: archive.today | archive.ph | archive.is shows a topmail.ru script running (https://top-fwz1.mail.ru/js/code.js). It's gathering tracking data (e.g., geolocation; timestamp; clicks; impressions). I came to the extensions page to learn more, and noticed other people citing their adblockers reporting malicious code. This may be one reason why. The privacy policy for this extension states "The developer has disclosed that it will not collect or use your data." Please can you help me understand the affiliation between the URL and this extension (e.g., does the archive.ph URL tracking script run every time I engage the extension to archive a webpage, because the Archive Page extension calls the URL which permits bypass of any adblocker settings at runtime)? Please can you share the source code for this extension to confirm no data is being gathered? Thanks very much for your time.
Yesterday I started getting messages from AVAST that it had blocked this due to a malicious code being found. Anyone else with this issue?
Extremely useful for archives
Worked great for me.
I've used this software for over a year, but now Malwarebytes blocks 130.0.232.208:443, so this extension is inoperable. In its logs, Malwarebytes reports 130.0.232.208:443 as Malware and the archive.today domain as RiskWare. I'm not sure how/why this started, but archive.today should get their site's anti-malware alerts in order, so the author's extension can get used properly. The problems that two 2023 reviewers reported are likely related.
Easy install, easy pin. Doesn't work!
Amazing!
It started to fail regularly recently, maybe this week or the last.
120% useful
absolute fire, life-changing, 12/10
Very useful extension, works perfectly. Thank you.
Thank you John this was very helpful for my school project (I needed old articles from the 90's which were unfortunately blocked behind paywalls)
Very useful extenstion!
Easy peasy. Works reliably. Gets me where I want to go. Doesn't appear to hang me up elsewhere.
I wish there was a global subscription service for news. I get that news agencies have to pay reporters and etc. But it's not feasible to subscribe to every paper you encounter linked articles for. This is the next best thing.
Works good, but the search fails if the URL has many attributes attached to its end. If there's a way it could select the base URL automatically before performing the search, that'd be amazing. Still, I like the functionality it offers. Thanks.
Works very rarely...hence a waste of time!
Fantastic and incredibly efficient archival service. Incredibly glad there is a very easy and straightforward way to archive pages that I have reason to believe should be archived. This will save so much internet history in the long term, thank you for your work on this app.
Is this on Github? Couldn't find it. Would make it easier to keep it up to date if one doesn't want to use the Chrome store.
it worked but shows waiting of 3000 articles!!! otherwise it was good but tooo long of a wait. i liked it but just soo slooww
I've been using the platform to archive pages for years. It never disappointed me.
I am not able archive Fb posts. since from past one week.... Everytime it shows, nothing found
"2. CloudFlare DNS may not resolve archive.today, so if you experience DNS errors, try a different DNS service." when 99.9% works and this extension fails i think the problem is there a waste of time, much better solutions out there
So far it works really well.
Much better than the archive.org system. Faster, better, you can even download the archive when it gets published, works with every website I've done. the list goes on Huge kudos to the creators of archive.today
John Navas is my new hero....perfect....thanks!!!!
Really great app!!!
