Reviews & Comments of Download Notifier chrome extension

Used to be 5 stars, but lately it does not remember the user settings anymore! If you choose a sound for it to make when the download is finished, a couple days later that option will be unchecked again (so it no longer makes any sound). I've checked that option about 8 times in the past couple of weeks, because it always reverts back to unchecked after a day or two. Any plan to fix this?

This extension is broken now, try Downloads Notification or AutoHideDownloadsBar

I love this extension, but every time I open chrome, it creates tons and tons of repeats of the same file and I have to disable it and re-enable it to get rid of all the duplicates.

it start showing all notification for old downloaded files every time i open chromm... may be its a bug in update, please fix it

It's OK but the sounds for notifying are annoying. It would be nice if the user could choose their own sounds.

can you please add a feature where it also notifies you when the download fails? thanks oh and please add more sound options :(

Used to hide the default chrome download shelf, now it doesn't. Recently started warning me that every download is dangerous, jpg, mpg, mp3 etc. Doesn't have the features it used to and the new features are useless and annoying so uninstalling.

was perfect but now i have bugs: the image is the one of the previous download and the notify "harmful download please check" appears without any reason

This is exactly what Chrome should have built-in, but it occasionally loses its settings and I have to re-do them when I notice it's not making sounds anymore. :-/

PLEASE ADD MORE SOUND EFFECTS AND I CAN'T STORE OPTIONS IT'S RESETS ITSELF

was a great useful and quiet little add-on until the recent "update," which added a non-defeatable notification sound. please allow the user to disable this annoyance. UPDATE: sound was made configurable again. thx!

Perfect Design and easy to use.

The best extensions are the ones you forget are extensions in the first place, like this one. But please, that ping, that bong, that sound is going to drive me up the wall before too long. A polarising topic with the reviews, it seems. UPDATE: Ah, a sound option that includes 'off', thank you. Still a must have extension.

It would be better if it had some options, like disabling the tray notification, disabling the sound and changing the icon.

its ok. -the ability to turn the sound on/off is a must. -whats with the security popup on every download? -some way to show progress.

Sound implementation is very good idea.

it was great, much better than the chrome downloader. however, i think it lacks a sound notification. EDIT: Love the sounds!!

Sound notifications is definitely a fine addition, but the preference to remove or change it must also be added.

Was great until a recent update added a sound notification! I am now uninstalling this extension, as you've not provided a way to turn off this sound!

please consider adding the features you mentioned in the description... otherwise a great extension!

Nice extension, but the notification text should be either generic or OS dependent instead of always display "Show in Finder" for non-OSX operating systems.

Quite excellent. It's a good change. A few notes: a notifcation sound would be welcome, and perhaps a drop-down menu of downloads in progress? A progress bar isn't an issue (on OS X) if you have Downloads in the dock.

I liked it, but I wish it didn't disable the progress bar. Please add that feature. If you don't I think I might just delete the app. I hate to say that but its true.

This is way better than that annoying bar. But look in Firefox; that is, for me, the best way to show downloads, very clean and simple.

please make it play a sound when it finishes downloading

terrific and helpful. one note: can't clear green number from downloads that didn't complete (but have since been removed from download queue)!

The code is very clean. No tracking or ads injection. Works great with Downloadr - Download Manager. The tabs permissions is to see if the downloads tab is already open to avoid duplicate tabs.

I think this is great, but I have a Chromebook which does -not- have Finder... Minor issue though, thank you for the extension.
