I like Papaly better, I was hoping I'd be able to define groups of tabs to open close at once but this extension like Chrome itself doesn't handle pinned tabs

Toby could not sync. Some actions may not be available. Review pending requestsCheck Toby's status... Sometimes toby mini page just white screen... have nothing... If that error showed...I can't move any tab in toby mini...can't delete any tab...or do anything... Is there any option can let me used in off-line? Or my network is downing...

This extension looked promising at first but missed the mark after awhile. I wasted a lot of time organizing tabs only to have the extension stop allowing me to drag tabs into anything below my first 10 collections. This happened on my desktop and laptop. I don't feel I had an excessive amount of tabs. There is no mention of any tab limits. Nice concept, poor execution.

This is a really good extention! I like how it doesn't open in a new tab and it is better than bookmarks!

La lune November 26th, 2021
La lune

It's be great if the extention asks us to change the name when saving session, having to go to the site, click More, then Edit name (literally at the bottom of the list), then Delete the original name and finally type in the title, which are very inconvenient.

Version 07.5_0 had a workable drop list, perfect, 07.6_0 - 07.7_0 unusable in contrast. So, I edited the ~/gfdcgfhkelkdmglklfbndgopaihmoeci/07.5_0/manifest.json line to read - "update_url": "https://localhost", - redirecting the update URL to localhost. But that's me.

I really dig this, but I have one wish. Can you but a Toby Tab Saver Favicon so all I have to do is click the tab Favicon and it pops up a way to input my tabs category to save it to or to create another category. Hey and if you can, maybe just make it a flash save where it's my tagsa and tracks my daily tabs automagically, so at the end of the day I can search my Toby Tabs Directory and KNOW my path was remembered. I love it. Dream Dream Dream I can. Scotty

As a very messy person, it really makes my workspace look a lot cleaner. I don't have to worry about losing a tab because adding a tab to a collection is so easy. It also makes me want to screen all the tabs i have to see if i really need them. All my tabs per subject are all here and I can get back to work easily because you can open all the tabs. I never thought an app like this would exist, but thank God it does.

This extension is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If you are like me and have trouble controlling the number of tabs you have open, get this extension! It's simple and effective, and I'm in love with it! There are occasional minor glitches, but overall, it is pretty much perfect. So much better than the bookmarks bar! Support and everything are great as well. :)

Toby mini has stopped working on my browser (both edge chromium and chrome). I have to revert back to Toby for Chrome. I've disabled all extensions, but still won't work. I like the minified version better as it doesn't take over the new tab page

Aleks July 26th, 2020

I used Toby to organize my web walks. While developing a certain theme, I usually add pages to a specific collection. This way my sessions are always chronological with notes serving as a sort of bookmarks. After doing that for a while Toby became unbearably slow. Typing something into the search box, or drag-n-drop rearrangements became unusable. As good as it is conceptually, the solution doesn't scale. I would rate my first moth as clear 5, but now given lags it's useless.

Jake Kushner July 17th, 2020
Jake Kushner

I like Toby Mini better than the normal one but somehow it STILL sometimes sets itself as my new tab. When this happens, I have to disable it, disable Speed Dial 2 (my normal new tab experience), re-enable toby mini, then re-enable Speed Dial 2 for it to take back over.

Emma Chen June 29th, 2020
Emma Chen

Works well for saving tabs, but it occasionally replaces my usual new tab extension (despite the fact that this is the "mini" version that is supposed to not do that). Although this is easily fixed by restarting Toby Mini, I would rather it not happen at all. Reordering the tabs also often results in wonky behavior, but it's not a big deal and doesn't really impact functionality beyond looking a bit weird. Additionally, I do wish that I had the option to change the link in the edit function, as that would streamline my process a lot. Overall: Super convenient, works as intended, but has a couple minor flaws.

Love this extension! Seems like the original "Toby" is gone and only "Toby Mini" is being offered. The new extension doesn't load when a new tab is added. The "Option" menu to set that is gone in the "Toby Mini" version. Anyone can share how they get it to load for every new tab added? I'm using Chromium and Vivaldi browsers.

BEWARE! It can and will lose all your information, make sure you backup your tabs somewhere else! I really enjoyed this for organizing my tabs and being able to quickly access previous tabs. However, it doesn't save your password or send you a reset email, so you will lose everything you've saved without being able to access it again due to this faulty set up. It's really disappointing because if they had the ability to save your password or let you access your account again if you get logged out, it would absolutely be 5 stars. But now that it's lost everything important I've saved for work and there's no one to contact (or no one that's answering the emails I've found to contact), I feel that this extension isn't safe to use or rely on.

Toby is a great tool but, as others have mentioned, there should simply be an option to prevent Toby from appearing on the New Tab page. It is ludicrous for this to require a separate extension.

I've been using this for half a year, and I don't think I can live without this extension anymore. I needed a way to indefinitely suspend tabs that I wanted to go through but couldn't at the moment. I tried saving links on a notepad, bookmarking, and extensions that would snooze tabs until a set time/date, but none of them performed the exact function I needed, until Toby. It makes my collection of tabs so much more organized; I can see what the websites are about, and I can call them back any time (or not open them ever). One complaint I do have is that I have trouble reordering collections. They don't move with my cursor, and instead move up or down randomly when I try to move them. They're usually in the order I want them to be when I reload the Toby tab though, so although it's irritating it doesn't really damped my experience with Toby service. I've never tried OneTab or Toby proper, but I don't think I'll ever need to because Toby mini is the booooooomb.

Had to uninstall - great concept, poor execution. Toby is sluggish as hell these days for me and it also recently became buggy to the point where it started replacing every new tab i had with itself no matter what I did.

I used to struggle a lot with Google Chrome Tabs management, where I'd open lots and lots of tabs and it would be a so hard to lose all the important ones. Now, after using so many tools/extensions I've settled with Toby Mini where I save entire sessions of tabs and come back to them whenever I want. A true lifesaver I must add.

Fantastic app but be careful I thought i saved everything at one point because it said synced then i closed and reopened and it was all gone the organization i spent a good hour doing was all lost!! Even though it said synced guys be careful about that I don't know why they aren't fixing these things!! When renaming things it also glitched the order of your organizations for some weird reason. FIX YOUR STUFF Toby creators.

Kelvin C August 10th, 2017

Seems to be very buggy compared to the full version. "Save Session" from the drop down menu closes all your tabs but doesn't create a collection if you have multiple windows opened. Dragging from the list of tabs to a collection can sometimes fail to save in the collection but closes the tab anyway.

alif September 19th, 2017

I used Toby for 5-6 months before I had to leave and it's for an irregular reason, I think. I just had too many tabs for Toby to handle when it came to organization. I had saved a couple thousand and at that point, Toby was just too sluggish. Now, that's only the issue if you have hundreds or thousands of tabs in collections from sessions over the months. Of course i was trying to clean up many of the collections as I only needed like 10-20% of those tabs, but when I tried using it to organize, delete and curate collections with lots of tabs it became so slow that it's just unbearable to use. I had to switch back to OneTab. I had contacted the dev team several times and was a big fan of Toby, but it just doesn't do well under high pressure. I was using OneTab before Toby then replaced that with Toby, but now am back. See the thing is that Toby has the UI down. No other tab manager has it the way they do. But, they don't have the functionality and speed to match it. When that happens, I'll be back using it. I'm watching their updates hoping for that to happen, but it hasn't yet.

Lizzy Mel September 25th, 2017
Lizzy Mel

Awesome, super handy and very clean looking! Suggested it to my friends! However I agree it can get a little sluggish, like you move a tab, it disappears for a couple of secs, then it appears in the collection you moved it too. My dream feature would be the ability for it to turn into a reference / bibliography list. Then I can just copy and paste all the links. Even if It just had the title, link and date accessed. (I'd still need to get the date published and authors for formal papers but that's usually a bit harder to find :P)

This is awesome! I was using graphitabs before this, which works well, but this works so much better! My only issues are that it doesn't show all your open windows at once, and it has a slight problem with the names messing up when I save a page. Only things keeping it from 5 stars.

Incredibly useful and powerful by (1) reducing the processor load imposed by multiple tabs in Chrome, and (2) providing a failsafe method (cloud backup) of restoring lost tabs when Chrome crashes (or just when changing machines). Many thanks for your initiative and drive.

I like the style and how it should work, much better than OneTab, which I used previously but let us not forget: You have one job which is to save sessions, and for the last two times when I click Save session it closes all of the tabs, opens Toby page, yet no new collection with the closed tabs appear. This is just not what you want it to do. Luckily I know that you can reopen the tabs, still you have to make sure that it does what it's supposed to

Vanessa Brooks May 29th, 2017
Vanessa Brooks

I liked this extension, until a few minutes ago when I clicked "Save Session" to save all of my tabs since I wanted to restart my computer. It did the action of closing them all out- which I didn't like but dealt with- but when I opened Toby THEY WERE NOT THERE. It closed them, and my history does not give me the "recently closed x tabs" option and even Tab Suspender's Session Management option could not open those tabs again. If I download something to manage my tabs and it "deletes" them when I am actively trying to save them, it's literally doing the complete opposite of its intended purpose.

update: 3.19 after I drag tabs to toby mini they get added then they disappear in 2 secs. and they disappeard from the browser too. my rating used to be 4stars when I reported a similar bug a month ago on the same version. what happened man! ------------------- Bug! the 3.19 update, has bug/s. it freezes when i drag a new tab. i had to close and reopen for each tab i drag. Yes, shy Toby is back again. Although I don't understand why it was required to separate just basically a feature into a separate extension. Toby team, please clarify. Edit: Now a blog post and an email give a valid explanation for separation of the extension into two versions. Thank you and 5 stars to Toby again.

Bob Miller January 31st, 2017
Bob Miller

Well, I love Toby but now I need to change my extension to a new one just so I can have my New Tab page back? Very annoying. Why does it want to take over the New Tab page anyway??? Why not make a separate app for that for those who want to do that?? Now I have to re-log back in on all my machines. And now I'm worried they'll keep doing off-the-wall stuff and make me jump through hoops...and then I'll have to stop using it. Grrrr.

Beth Storey January 31st, 2017
Beth Storey

I like Toby, but why do I now need a different version to access the same functionality I had before? I like to keep the google new tab page as it only has a few tiles on it. I find Toby too cluttered and ugly to be my opening page and although it is excellent as a tab manager, it is impossible to customise to suit my workflow. I don't necessarily want to open an older page every time I open a new tab. Also, it did not replace old Toby, I now have 2 Toby buttons, and Toby is still launching when I open a new tab. I can't find info on the subject. Do I remove the old version? Will my tabs be saved? Or will I have to start again? some clarity would be nice.
