Used to work well, and I have used this app for a couple of years. However, I am finally fed up with its new habit of popups (as countless others have indicated within their authentic reviews) when I close a tab--and worst of all--because its popups message are INVASIVE and IMITATE MALWARE--is that these unwelcomed popups download onto my Desktop if I ignore their intrusive, nagware messages. So... THIS.APP.IS.DONE. I am removing it from each of my three systems--P.R.O.M.P.T.L.Y..

Used to be great now I get popups from hot cleaner telling me i don't have the latest version of chrome and that is false!

Works well, with lots of options. However, the user interface is absolutely dreadful - ugly, confusing and difficult to use. The last is something the developers appear to be aware of, as they advise you to make all your settings before starting the extension. Once you've started using it, they're a nightmare to change.

I right-click the extension icon, select Options from the drop-down, select Options again from a new window that opens, a blank Settings window opens, then nothing.

The icon is at the top of my comp but it won't work at all.

No way to turn off popups from the app, One more pop up, and I am deleting this

This is a spam/phishing attempt at this point. Reporting for abuse. Original: So many annoying pop ups to rate, donate, clean, use, etc... meh. It has great functionality, but this is almost annoying enough to uninstall.

Horrible spam and popup ads.

Removed the extension after a barrage of intrusive popups began several weeks ago. Never felt like the extension did much anyway, and there are plenty of other extensions that supposedly do the same thing, but do not spam you multiple times a week.

lol, doesnt delete anything. I still have cookies from a week ago with this thing. even worse, when you click the C button and choose 'clear private data'. the chances of that actually happening are about 30 percent. for the most part it takes you to their website. its the most annoying game i ever played. trying to avoid it going to their site. maybe they make money off the clicks that link to their site. yes the 'securely close browser works, doesnt do that, but if you want to stay on your browser. good luck. but yah, it doesnt clean anything. using brave.

Very helpful for optimizing browsers - Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, Opera, etc

Screw you - been using this extension for years and suddenly there is now a random Windows popup from this app (as if it were an app installed in Windows) with buttons to download or upgrade, and both open a CCleaner/HotCleaner page in Edge (even though this extension is in Chrome). Nothing I do will stop this from popping up randomly except (I assume) removing this extension. There is no setting that I can use to turn this off and nothing to uninstall or change in Windows that works. So it's forced and completely unnecessary. Removed for good, idiots.

They DELETED my previous review. New review: 1-star, because the extension has started creating unwanted pop-ups imploring me to upgrade the extension. This is one of those extensions that the less you have to interact with it, the better it is, and now that it is getting in my face about stupid stuff for no reason, it gets 1-star.

brill extension makes it simple but does the clean up perfect hats off to the developer. does a better clean up job than the browsers and simpler.

This extension was very helpful! It let me clean all the item categories I chose in one click. One way to make Click&Clean better is to add a setting to customize its main menu. After clicking this extension in my extension list, I don't use all of the options listed. So, it would be great to just include the options I do use.

I removed this extension even though it performs well because it requires too many approvals for it to work. It monitors my web history, mouse clicks, keylogs. I don't want to give that info. I'll use Google's own history cleaner and cookie cleaner. chrome

I think this is an outstanding app and have already got several friends to use it and they all love it as well, should be a 7th star for apps like this one that are worthy...

I don't know how this got onto my PC but I'm finding it hard to get rid of it. It does nothing which you can't do yourself and not knowing what it does I don't want it around.

Extremely amazing application!! Especially useful for Google Chrome's browser, and clearing all of the cache, browsing history, and other data when you close the browser. In today's age people want a fast program to clean up their system. This is a life saver. Just try it and you'll find out for yourself what an indispensable tool this is. I just installed it. I wanted to remove Google search bar history. I accidentally clicked the big 'clear privacy data' when I meant to click the TINY settings button sitting ON TOP of it. No warning or anything. Tried to stop it but too late. I've lost EVERYTHING. All my history, saved form data, etc. Unbelievable!! I wanted to take a backup. You'd think it would prompt that before running a full wipe!? Terrible! Many precious things were lost! One-star and an uninstall.

Well, I've used this extension for a few years now. It started off brilliantly but over recent months has become less and less reliable at clearing the data on shutting down the browser. Despite following the dev's instructions, with Windows 11 Build 22000.778 and Chrome Version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit) I can't get it to work automatically at all. Hopefully the dev will be looking at updates/

Did not worked, Period !

Easy button simple and very helpful and a breeze to navigate and use. The option tools are beyond basic but not to advanced at the same time. Great product for the average computer user but also is robust enough with cool custom options to keep the nerds from flipping their bitcoin all over their two-wolf, one-moon t-shirt.

I needed something easy to do because I forget that I need to get rid of many things from the Internet. This is quick and works well. Amazing extension, I LOVE IT Thanks!

Closing a window wipes out the history associated with it automatically, so you don't have to worry about securely closing anymore, Click&Clean makes it automatic. No more having to worry about saved credit card numbers. Brilliant app, highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no settings to clear browser cache only, after each session( which is why I installed it )? This has to be carried out manually, because on auto it clears cookies!

This is far the better way to stay secure. It's really great and really handy for little things like when I have to clear my history, and even for the big stuff, like clearing my cache and cookies. Great and easy to use. Thank you.

Would give it 5 stars if it didn't randomly send me to their website. Not sure what is up with that. Is it just doing this to load ads? Anyone else experience this? Extension works fine other than that. Still seeking out alternatives though as it displays items that are not relevant to me (memory/malware scans/sandbox, ETC).

It was a very helpful tool for a few years, that I will use daily to clean up the browser before shutting down. However, this feature is now found under Menu / Chrome / Clear Browsing Data. Much easier to access than before. So, this extension is no longer relevant. The extension's other features are shortcuts with an icon, eg chrome://system/ & chrome://downloads/. While other features were blocked by my NextDNS filters Using Mac Chrome Version 101.0.4951.64 (Official Build) (x86_64). Thank you for the past years of this helpful app.

According to the author's own test, the extension did nothing for me (see https://www.hotcleaner.com/cleaning-software-test.html). Granted, my browser settings including a couple of other extensions, already take care of blocking and cleaning up cookies, and as much of other user data. I also mistrust any software, such as this extension, which has documentation in incorrect English. Logic dictates that if the description grammar is sloppy, then the code is probably the same.

This extension is great. It removes my tracks quick and easy. Not as difficult to use as BleachBit, but this is great for my needs. Now, It resides on every device in the family, included my linux desktop.

I can confirm that this extension doesn't DELETE HISTORY when CHROME CLOSES anymore. I'm using Google Chrome 100 in Windows 11, and I have the following items selected: "Delete private data when Chrome closes" "Obliterate the following items from: [ the beginning of time ]" I restarted my laptop but still, it does not delete the browsing history when chrome closes, this option was working but not anymore.

I love this extension, but the extension never been redesign back , the interface is a bit clunky and full.. I hope you guys can design it much better and make is abit simple or provide option to remove unnecessary button

I gave it a five-star review at my first review. I am sad to say that C&C has diminished to a redundant button that leaves behind ALL the supposedly closed tabs once Chrome is restated. What's going on? I didn’t change any settings? Why has it become inert?

50% of the time when I try to open the extension, it opens a new tab for the Click and Clean website, and that isn't something I want. This problem needs to be fixed, because it's about as annoying as it can be.

Phishing and malware - not sure why so many positive reviews though everytime someone provides what appears to be valid review admin on top of it and ridicules this feedback -- suspicious why there are mainly 1 and 5 star reviews - artificially boosting reviews perhaps? Installed and first thing to pop up was site that google blocked as insecure 'accessing info - may steal passwords/account details - looked through reviews to see if others have encountered same / similar and suspicions confirmed in this regard. avoid. not worth the risk. my honest opinion. Does Not Work Anymore. Wont even log you out of Gmail when you close your browser. Yes even when you set the options correctly. Something changed and this addon is worthless now

I think Click&Clean is right up there with CCleaner (a Windows Desktop Cleaner). What i think is wonderful about Click&Clean is that you can use it while Google Chrome Is running, It will clean out all of Chrome (unlike CCleaner) without needing to close Chrome down. IT'S GREAT!

Im not sure how this extension keeps disappearing...i like the extension but every so often i look around and poof its gone off my computer and I have to reinstall it....

This is a very useful extension that I use almost everyday to clear my cache and eliminate cookies. My only problem has been getting any kind of response from the developer when I have a question.

This thing is shady as hell opening random popup forcing me to click on random things, if I click on extension options, surprise it will open a marketing popup

It works great and easy to use

App will not update has an error stated add blockers turned on.Turned all blockers off and receive same error about add blockers on. I have sent several emails to support with ZERO responses so there you have it. App works great otherwise.

only extension that cleared local storage well. thanks edit: whenever i click on the cache button to use the cache viewer it brings me to a random page ABOUT the cache viewer instead of the cache viewer

too many "pats on your own back" and not enough how to download it. it tells how wonderful it is but doesn't have a "download" site to use your product. Cut back on telling us how great you are and more on how to get the service without a bunch of "buy me" ads.

I'd like to report a problem with the Cookie cleaner too. Doesnt appear even though C&C is installed.

60 years old this is wonderful, lots of explanations and definitions to what is what and what it does. Love it...thanks When I first got Click and Clean it was much better. I got an update notice now in 2021 and its not the same format at all. I use this ap for a long time but I am going to look for something else. Or just go back to what I did BEFORE I first loaded this, I am not 60 anymore ITs been more than 8 yrs.

Others using advance techno can disassemble code and control your statements !!! The worst day I invited it on my systems...The first week was okay and then Folders from three different computers I have started swapping Chromes main browsers. So why are they accessing all of my computers in my house ?I do believe they are Communist Chinese with the folders all from two different platforms...32bit and 64 bit I have three computers on my network and this program has compromised my folders and Professional music programs.

The app does not show my history or cookies. I click on cookies or history and I get install click&clean. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it does the same thing.Why is this happening?

Loved it before, but something happened recently (since latest Google update 88.0.4324.150) and it's crashing Chrome regularly. Please fix that.

It's a good feeling to know that you're protected then when your browsing history is cleaned up very fast and when you want to be done without going into settings and clearing the are there data cookies so forth browser takes care of all that

The useless and annoying pop-ups have finally stopped. And now, with the app's latest update, it keeps opening a new tab every other time when we click to clean the data. WHY THE F*** does it keep opening that new tab?? For what??

The author finally took care of the constant popups but now I can't access the Cookie Wiper portion of it.

I've always liked this App,I've never had any problems with this App as long as its around I'll keep on using it......

This used to be a good extension, but now you can't edit the cookies you want to keep (not sure if the cookie wiper site is broken or they just disabled it). When trying to send feedback directly to them, that form/site doesn't work either. Seems they've just stopped supporting this and don't want to be bothered.

Have actually used it for many years. Recently, clicking on the "Cookies" option INSIDE THE APP opens a tab in Chrome that claims that I need to install the Click&Clean app -- which I used to open the tab. This makes it worthless.

Amazing sooner easy and safe

I've commented 2x before lauding the functions of C&C and still give it the best regards. Seems the dummies who complain about Pop Ups can't realize that Adblock & Poper Block are sitting right in front of them; turn on Chrome Website and see for yourselves, you low IQ complainers. Downloaded this specifically so i could search & delete specific websites/cookies from history, since unfortunately, as great as a browser that Brave is, you cant do that. You can do that with this extension but only one day at a time, you cant set it for "since the beginning of time/1 month" etc to delete a specific search, item, which is a pretty big oversight i would have thought. It's great i can delete all my browser history since the beginning of time, but that is already standard in most browsers, & most AV software.. Searching specific items is not standard, which is where i thought this extension would do the trick.. For my purpose this extension is almost pointless..

I use it everyday. I don't like clearing my history every time I go into a site and this app can do it all!

The best I have ever seen!

The previous Cache and Cookie cleaner i used was very selective. I could search for a specific URL and delete just the cache or data for it. I can not do so with this on. UI is VERY non-intuitive

WAS a huge huge promotional ally for them until recently I find a little "C" aka their logo on the bottom left of ALL my screens INCLUDING when I print. STILL THERE ...Not exactly professional or acceptable in my opinion. Did management change? Did ownership change? Dunno - But for the last TWO weeks I have been stuck with this "C" logo and can not get rid of it. will be forced to uninstall for good if I am not given some explanation and or "fix" from your formally fantastic app management.

I'm done from pop ups that just bug you to death and now they just can't keep off your pages with the little c in a box popping up all the time. This 5 year old attitude of, look at me, look at me is as annoying as you can get. No one wants to see you all the time, We just want you to do your job. Plus I already have an Icon on my menu and now there is another one on my screen. I see the only way to get rid of that it to get ride of it all. Bye bye. call me when you grow up and are not trying to sell yourself all the time on my screens. After all, You're not the only game in town. Super History & Cache Cleaner here I come.
