This has stopped working properly. Seem to hit a limit on WhatsAppWeb regarding how many messages it will show .. if it doesn't show them this won't download them.

Scaling for viewing in mobile browser? The extension seems to work pretty well but I wish the generated HTML would scale better when viewed in a mobile browser, to have similar size as when viewing the chat in WhatsApp. If I open the saved HTML on my phone I need a magnifying glass to read the chats.

This worked brilliantly, but note that it no longer works if you're in the WhatsApp Web Beta, as there is a limit to how far back the chat will go. Not sure if it'll be possible for there to be a workaround for this, alas. However, still seems to work fine when not opted in.

Did not work. I tried getting messages from Apr 2020 to Apr 2022, but it only got from Jan 2022 to Apr 2022 - about 15000 messages which is way worse than whatsapp own limit of 40000. Waste of money

I bought this scam extension, I used it for messages only, no media, nothing and all I got was a stupid message : No chat is selected. Please select a chat to start the export. DO NOT BUY IT ! IT IS A SCAM !

The fact it's not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing is a little worrying. However, after purchasing the license it worked exactly as advertised! It boggles my mind that a multi-billion-dollar company such as WhatsApp hasn't implemented a similar feature yet. Kudos to the developer.

Cette application fonctionne. Les photos non supprimées sont sauvegardées ainsi que les messages vocaux. Il y a juste un bug : en export HTML, les messages vocaux sont exportés en OGG cependant, ils ne chargent pas quand on clique sur play. Je pense que cela vient du fait que le script les exporte en .OGG alors que whatsapp doit les traiter en .OPUS. C'est la seule application/extension qui m'a permis de facilement exporter et sauvegarder des conversations avec médias pour nettoyer mon téléphone.

This chrome extension requires a payment or subscription and it is NOT Free as stated with in app purchases. Please stop misleading people and wasting peoples time. Be honest!

Some functionality may cease to work from time to time due to constant changes in the WhatsApp API. But the developer is quick to fix any bugs once you get in touch with him. The last API change that prevented images from being downloaded was fixed in less than 24 hours!

The chat texts download works for me. I tried various combination of dates and file formats, it didn't fail on me. However, the 'Try grabbing media', 'Try grabbing unresolved media (takes more time)', and 'Dark theme' box button is not active. It doesn't matter to me as I only wanted the texts. It would be great if you could figure out how to add 'Download All Chats'. It will save me a lot of time.

I tried all settings and even after setting the date, it did not export the chat as I was expecting it to. It did not even export the chat for longer than 6 months! It's a waste of money.

This extension doesn't do anything unless you pay for it. Doesn't make that fact clear at all until you download it

It succeeded to back up only couple months (from Feb 2021 instead Dec 2019 that I needed) and when I'm trying earlier dates it just giving me empty file. I'm sorry it's far from what I expected and it's really no use for me. I want my money back.

Paid for the full version, tried exporting to html, it simply does nothing. It doesn't work.

I really like this extension and have used it quite a lot so that I know chats are safe in the event of failures or mistakes adding a new phone. I have used it quite a lot and got a surprise when I got a message to pay. I don't mind paying for a good service at all, I just worried that it was a scam from some third party. I didn't understand the in app purchases bit so perhaps make it clearer for dim people like me that we have to pay a very modest fee for an excellent extension. Thank you very much.

Worked as advertised. Easily backed up a chat with 500k messages like a champ. Used a lot of memory to export chat but thankfully I have a lot. If you don't have lots of memory I suggest you use the creators tip to export in portions to minimize the chance of an out-of-memory exception. Bravo this extension was worth every cent.

I searched for a WhatsApp backup extension/addon with the "Free" button ticked, This popped up and so installed it. Thought I'd give it a whirl and discovered I need topay. I feel cheated. What is the point of calling this "Free"?

Great extension. Can you please add a dark mode option? I had requested this long ago. Can't read long chats without dark style. Broadcasted messages don't have broadcasted logo in the export. Thanks a lot!

I use the extension for edge (because I cant buy the chrome one). Some time ago I used it to backup some large chats and noticed the following: the media before September 2017 are not downloaded (the audios appear with zero seconds and the images are blurred), the later ones are. Today I tried to backup some chats and the extension did not download any media, even the most recent ones. I repeated the attempt with those contacts that had already been backed up with media sucessfully. And this time it's not working. Maybe some whatsapp update? If the essential for you is just the text, it works very well (it is recommended to divide very large chats into pieces). But for the media, it still needs to improve.

It saved an HTML file of the whole chat, but none of the media (except my profile picture). They all appears as an extremely blocky preview in the file, despite the app counting down media files it fetched. There seems to be a problem (at least for me).

It is awesome BUT... For being sure that you will have all the media files in your saved archive i found that trick: You should open the chat you want to download in Whatsapp Web, click on one image. It should open that image in Whatsapp Web. In the bottom of the page you should see the other media files as small squares. Just use the arrows on the keyboard to go through all the media. If the media file is not downloaded the site should start download automatically. Make sure you have all media downloaded BEFORE starting export the chat using the extension. I guess the extension is supposed to do that job for you by checking Try grabbing unresolved media (takes more time) option, but I noticed it could still be missing media files in the exported archive.

Worked extremely well. This was the only way that I could download the chat I'd had with a deceased relative, plus all the media, in an easily readable format, before leaving WhatsApp owing to data privacy concerns. Thanks ever so much, this was really important to me.

The whole process just crashes after some time... Even if I try to download just a small part of the chat, it doesnt show anything.. just a blank page...and it takes a lot of time for skipping messages.. what does that mean ? i bought this for 243.. Please help me with this...its not working

Your extension is not working perfectly for me. I choose the time period 2018 to 2021, But YOU EXTENSION only send me the 2020 DECEMBER messages, how can I download my all chats without any error . and it's not possible to to downloading my old chats then pay me back my MONEY. my whole chatting is old like 2017 and I only able to download my chat to 2020 only December month.if your extension is not working perfectly for me then please pay back my money

I cannot thank you enough! I wanted to save al of my chats since WhatsApp will be changing their policies and it worked perfectly! (I could not do it through WhatsApp since they only do up to 40k) I must admit I was skeptical at first, but it worked like it had to and it was worth the price. Excelllent for large conversations! I needed to back up a conversation with close to 120.000 entries, so the built-in backup option was not very useful. This tool did exactly what it promised - creating a nicely formatted html file showing all emoticons and displaying embedded media (where possible to retrieve from the phone). Took a while to load everything, but I'm very happy with the result. Thank you!

Amazing app. Does its job perfectly. Initially, I was a bit skeptical because I wanted to backup huge chats with media files in between. But the backup was done flawlessly and the resultant html looks great. Worth every penny.

This extention worked very well for me.I exported a dozen chats. The maximum chat exported succesfully into 844 pages.

Very fine extension. Just purchased after testing the CSV output and am very pleased that HTML output looks the same as the original thread.

I first downloaded the free version, and then bought the app. However, even after buying it, it get this message when I press the download button - "Free version expired. Please buy the full version."

Emojis do NOT show up if you open the HTML file in FIREFOX (I didn't test in other browsers), there are just blank spaces. I suppose the emojis can only be displayed in Chrome which is kind of a bummer if you also use another browser. Also, it'd be useful if you could see the contact's details on top of the chat, e.g. the contact's name/phone number and the profile photo. Otherwise, you don't even know who the chat was with unless you check the name of the HTML file and the photo inside of the backup folder. There should be an easier and more straight forward way to identify the person who the chat was with. It would also be nice to have an option to customise the chat background before exporting the chat than just to have it in plain gray.

Why do I need to login? Where are you storing my chats? Edit: Nevermind, I saw that it's to authenticate the purchase! Made a quick test an everything looks great.

I live in Germany, where WhatsApp's built-in chat export feature was removed. I tried the free trial of this extension and was very satisfied with the results. It is quick, efficient, and even allows you to view the messages in the format of an actual WhatsApp chat. It works with both groups and private chats and downloads shared images and videos as well as the text messages. Sometimes it seems to not download ALL images, I'm not sure, but that doesn't bother me much as I can download those manually. For only 2.99 Euros, the full version is at a very fair price and is definitely worth adding to your browser. The only thing I would want to see added is the ability to download group chat icons automatically. Some icons of group participants are downloaded but not all, and the group picture itself also isn't. Other than that though, this extension is excellent. I'm very happy this was made.

Hey, the extension works really well, for chats with messages over the 40,000 limit created by WhatsApp. An issues I faced was while I tried to backup chats over 300,000 messages, If so, please help me out with a solution, it keeps on crashing at around 280,000 messages and then the page becomes unresponsive. Thankss :D

Works as it's showed. Would be great if: - it could auto back-up multiple chats within a given timeframe; - there is a shortkey to start the back-up automatically (e.g. ctr+x or whatever to trigger the extention).

It worked quite well. I got to backup a conversation with more than 2000 media files. I would just recommend that the output HTML would be split by month or whatever because it hangs the browser afterwards.

Great idea but just didn't work. First time I tried it, it failed on grabbing the media and crashed. Second time I tried without the media and just downloading the chat, it reached the end and crashed again. Nothing saved, great idea but just doesn't work. It ended up making my WhatsApp not work for the rest of the day, had to restart my phone several times for it to connect.

Jeez that's an amazing piece of work! Downloaded the chat I needed for emigration purposes flawlessly. I had to wait for some time since the chat was really big, but it was SO worth it!

Please add a SAND CLOCK or a PROCESSING bar... There is no way to know whether the APP is working, or hanging, or not. Once user clicks DOWNLOAD, literally have no idea whether its working or not therefore need some way to show status. Even a "WAIT" followed by ... to show that the software is working would be helpful.

This works well for me thanks for developing it. I realise that this is probably a whatsapp web thing but all my media files in the zipfile are pixelated unless I click on the download arrow on each image in whatsapp web before running this extension. I was hoping to easily download a very long chat with loads of images, clicking each image is a PITA and just takes too long. Can this be avaoided?

I tried this app earlier on a different machine and found it worked wonderfully to download chats AND media. So today I made the purchase to install on a new computer and find that the capability to download media has been REMOVED. I am angry. How long until we can download media again?

While I enjoy that you created such an option where i can keep my chat in html form and the chat looks the same. Since I bought the extension. It is hit and miss. Sometimes I get a zip file with all the mp3 and pics inside. However most of the time, i get a zip with nothing in it but the html file and css file and the sticker representing my friend. Why is that? Is there a solution. If it worked perfectly it would get 5 stars but this problem is really annoying

Wonderful Extension, Unique in its own, Downloaded many memorable chats by this wonderful extension. But i am getting one issue for a chat, most big one , might have 200k messages, The Webpage crashes after downloading 100k messages... Please help, that chat is the most important to download

Edit: Restarting Chrome and Windows resolved the issue. "Try grabbing media" was working at first but it no longer works.

had the same problem as a previous user - trying to download a chat from december 2017 till now but it won't donwload all of it (managed to download more text using export on whatsapp). then I tried to download between different date ranges but it only shows "skipping xxx" and then when finished it turns out it didn't download anything. I'm sure its a great extension and it's worked for other people but I'm sad I didn't for me. is there anything else I can do to make it work? thanks

Very helpful app, I had some issues getting it to run, but have got it to run on a more powerful computer. Finally managed to get a chat history over 40,000 messages which took a while. When trying to pull media it takes a very long time, is it possible to have an option to include text and audio and leave pictures and video for example?

I like the concept of the app and it's great that you can export a lot more messages than what WhatsApp allows. However, I tried downloading a chat that has a fair share of voice notes in it, and none of the voice notes got downloaded. They appear in the chat transcript but are "empty" - no sound comes from them. Please fix this, and then the app would be perfect.

I had a chat with 50,000 messages and thousand of photos. Tried everything but couldnt bulk-backup whole media. Its the only app that actually made it possible. Thank you.

It managed to save my chat. But I would like to transfer it over to my Telegram app, which means I need the chat in text file (.txt) so that I can copy paste directly into Telegram. Could you put in another option for making the chats into a text file? Would really appreciate it. :)

Doesn't work properly, it download all the messages but it will stuck on the media download, every time i run this is will download one media file out of 1200 and stuck. when i re-run it will continue where it left off of 2 out of 1200 and then stuck. I want my money back...

I am business person, with all my chat/transaction with customer are using WhatsApp, your CSV help me a lot in differentiate customer name and their actual phone number (compare to Export Chat function that WhatsApp provide, which really hard to work with) I have read all the review, i can said that your extension are one of its kind. I understood the minor bug. For me, my Whatsapp data/media are like 12gb it's ridiculously hard to do the Backup because the process of tricky as our chat/media all located in our smartphone, then we have to upload it into Whatsapp Web. yeah, i have around 50k message/media of my kids..i have try backup it but fail even i batch it out per month..I'm not mad, i knew it's a hard process to retrieve the data/chat/media. I can see your extension have big pintential to success I hope you have a bigger plan to make it work with Android/iOS device, thst will more interesting. For me, the price of this gem is pricelesa because if it can Bsckup all my children photos/video/chat..it's really no price can pay that memory. Keep the hard work Sir, you have my respect.

Worth purchase. Instructions: download conversation, unzip, save to pdf. Images won't carry over well, but the format looks good.

Finally something that does what I need it to. Only small issue is the date of the pictures is the date of the download and not the date when the picture was taken. Other than that good job!!
