For an alternative extension that is less complicated, see: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/github-light-navbar/ghmhnieihpbnbakfplhabglpdpcphomf

Doesn't seem to work well anymore. My header becomes light gray instead of black, but the text is still white - unreadable.

Perfect! Thank you for this. Does not work on trending pages though. For example: https://github.com/trending/php

EDIT: Working again :) No longer working - the dark styles have been applied to the header class and the header-dark class is now redundant.

I put my faith in to the light, and was not disappointed.

I was just about to create an extension, and saw that this already existed. Does exactly what it should, and no more.

Amazing! When GitHub went dark, my life went to dark as well, but this extension shined light upon my existence again. I found a reason to live and will spread the word to everyone who is willing to listen to the old ways, when GitHub was still bright and beautiful. Don't fall into the hands of imposters, nothing beats the feeling of knowing you went for the premium feeling of the best and the first plugin out there. Don't settle for less!
